One useful trick is using large hose for flow but having a few short, flexible "whips" or "pigtails" to make spray gun or tool handling comfortable.

We buy bulk flexzilla hose and use it in a industrial factory and we always have a problem with the ID of the hose strecltching out over time and eventually our fittings just fall out of the hose, probably fine for pressures under 100 psi

have a 50' Flexilla hose in my shop. I don't use it a lot, so it hangs on a spool on the wall. The spool has about a 8" radius, it is a garden hose hanger. The hose has developed a memory of that spool and it is near impossible to rehang it cleanly. I am switching to a different hose!!!

I was using PVC air hoses, but it wasn't the stiffness that bothered me. Air compressor oil will soften the end and make it leak at the crimp. Usually on the air compressor side. I seldom paint and need quick recovery. Oil-free compressors probably wouldn't bother the hose, but they're slow to charge back up. I'm changing car tires, sanding, and grinding mostly. Is rubber my best option?

How much pull back does that poly coiled house have? That's something to consider if it pulls back too strongly, the PVC coil hoses are very annoying if you actually try to extend them beyond the coiled length by more than a few feet.

Can hose diameter be too big for a compressor. Just bought a 4.1 scfm compressor and I mostly use stapler and brad. But I will have occasionally need for framer and impact without repetitive use. Will a 3/8 over work the compressor for mostly stapling and will a 1/4 leave me short on power to drive a framer or impact?

I was always told the poly hose is what you need as a carpenter and I’ll admit that they are tough but they are harder to roll out and roll up. It’s not the biggest issue but u can’t just wrap it up like a power cord all easy how ever you want, I love pvc personally it cheap, flexible and easy kinda like my taste in women but I recently stole a dewalt hybrid from trim and finish crew (they had it coming bunch of A holes, I don’t feel bad about it whatsoever) anyway it’s quickly becoming my favorite n go to hose .next time I go to buy a new one I’ll get a hybrid hose not a dewalt tho I’d be more than happy with a harbor freight one

Which is the most oil resistant? I work in an automotive shop and there’s ALWAYS oil, coolant, or transmission fluid residue on the floor and my coworkers have the bad habit of leaving the air hoses on the floor, and the hoses absorb the oil and get a nasty sticky texture and then soften up and leak.

I'm just getting into my own business and my budget is tight (I can afford something expensive IF i only need to buy the one.) I know my tools pretty well just not the peripherals like hoses and such.
Main use for the hose is Framing. 70-120 psi on a metabo HPT NR83A5.
I don't really trust the hose that was bundled with the compressor, psi rating of 150.
