  • This week Joe and Connor discuss their thoughts on workouts that push you to the red line, throwback retro shoes, and the common trend of increasing shoe life cycles. We also go into our thoughts on who we thought would make the Olympic marathon team (we were some-what right with our picks!)

Thank you Joe for letting me know about the update for the Bondi. The longer life cycle is good and bad for the consumer. Thanks for another great podcast.

Holy cow your trials (men’s) predictions were on point! They’ve gotta give CJ better carbon racers 😭

I could listen to you guys talk about the state of the industry all day. That being said I do wonder what the future is going to be, particularly on the brick and mortar side. Like you've said for a few episodes now, the vast majority of the people going into these stores arent running, they're walking/working/standing/medical issues or whatever. Thats all well and good, not saying that they also dont deserve good shoes, but at what point do the stores say "There isnt enough money for us to bring in these performance/racing shoes, so we are just going to cater to our largest market" and you see shoes like the Rebel, Mach, Novablast, Speed, etc (not to mention racing shoes) start to disappear from these stores. And then how does that in turn, affect the manufacturers on what they produce. The trickle effect just worries me a little bit.

Why don't the retro lines do 'protros' like the kobe line did and put modern day tech in retro inspired sneakers. Is it as you said in the brooks survey, people don't care as long as or looks good?
