Came to refill my toner, stayed for the rave
Great video, great rhythm. My cartridge was slightly different: no spring to deal with, and the plastic plug was impossible to remove without destroying it. Fortunately the refill kit I bought came with a new plug. Now I'm back in action and ready to rock 'n roll.
The bastards cover it in adhesive to make it hard to remove deliberately
I grabbed the plug rim with a small pliers and then levered if off; no problem and the plug was not ruined.
Any difference in toner for current models - MCF L2750DW, and earlier Brother laser printers ?

Brings back memories of when I was a tech accidentally having toner dumped on my work bench and discovered I was deathly allergic to it... Neck swelled so bad I couldn't bend my head back, hives broke out on my entire body and I had to be rushed to the hospital in shock.

My new age hippy friend filled his Cyan cart with Yellow toner, the Magenta cart with Cyan, and the Yellow with a mix of CMYK. He had no luck sourcing White toner, though was advised a Striped and Polka Dot paint supplier could help.....
you dont explain how to reset the cartridge using the gears. the angle is different between a new cartridge and a used one, because of density of toner inside

The music was horrible had to watch with the sound off. Do you need to empty the old stuff out first? How much do you put in? These questions should have been addressed instead of the horrible music and then this video would have been a good informative video. Don't assume people know how a printer works either.

To refill Toner cartridge TN1050 there is no need to remove screw. Just open plasticcover hole toner and refill.

How to make a detailed video of modifying complicated mechanical parts ....
1- Use an autofocus camera that won't focus closer than 9-12" to ensure a fuzzy image.
2- Use distracting loud music to ensure poor concentration - 'thrash metal' for instance.
3- Mask with your hands what you're doing when removing and replacing small parts.
4- Half heartedly show the removed parts to the camera while waving them about.
5- Don't reveal useful and identifiable info, to ensure you get lots of messages, asking.
Cynical observations maybe, but possibly 75% of 'How To Do It' videos are like this!

Why do people want to have background music that makes them look like idiots are beyond me?
[This is a bit late, its over 6 years since you posted it.] One of the first rules in creating videos is to choose music appeals to a wide range of listeners (unless you have a narrow target audience) - not all of your viewers are teenage to twentyish (with the cost of laser printers, ,your audience is more likely biased to older age groups), and whatever music you choose DON'T have it pound the ear drums even before the computer has locked on to the vision. Your music here will appeal to some, but you will get more viewers, even if you cut back the audio levels, and fade in the adio. Remember, you aren't making these useful videos to appeal to you, that's called wanking. OK over 6+ years, you've had getting on for half a million views - that's great. But you have, in round fgures, a million subscribers. Taking into account the fact that many viewers will not be subscribers, say half of them, , it looks as if only half of your sbsribers even looked at this (out of curiosity?). Some will lamblast me for this comment, but I'm just trying to be helpful. Of course, over quite a few years you've garnered many subscribers and you will have matured over that time and my comment is unnecessary.
