As a quadriplegic, I can't get out camping as much as I would love to, so I live vicariously through you ! Thank you for taking us on all your adventures! Stay warm!
I don't know if it will work for next time, but maybe putting a log similar size to the chimney coming out of the stove and rolling the pipe around it and then sliding the log out? Just a thought for next time if you ever use it again. 😊
Howd u type this?
@@jyoung304 I still have a little use of my hands, but sometimes I use my nose
Just now I put another couple sticks of firewood in my tent stove, and a skillet of potatoes. Sat down with a cup of coffee with hot chocolate mix to watch your video. Gonna be another winter spent in a 12x14 wall tent in North panhandle Idaho.
I just love your voice and your beautiful eyes and face.
NICE! 👌🏾
A hot tent, bacon sandwich and a bottle of Jameson. That's all you need in life. Hello from Scotland.
I love you're videos! Rather than sit at home and dream of what you love doing you go out and do it, thank you so much for allowing us to be there with you ❤️
Thanks so much for watching!
I just practice in and enjoy camping in my yard.
The stovepipe. Start with the corner and roll it at a slight angle inward, then add the rings as you roll to the other end. Once it’s been rolled up, you can even the ends out to straighten it up. Try it on a dollar bill first to understand what I mean. It’s so easy with almost no wrinkles in the Titanium. Have a great time and thank you for sharing your adventures. Happy Thanksgiving as well. 🤟
I was going to suggest taking a log and rolling it around the log. That piece she hauled in may have done the trick. 🙃
Set it up at home first. Use a “pool noodle” as a guide and the rings. After the first fire it develops a memory of sorts.
Loved this video. No judgement on the whiskey, the aesthetic wouldn't be complete without it.
The box caught my attention first thing.
Probably not the most practical of camping items, but outperformed that stovepipe.
Watching you roll that out was a hoot 👍😎
Gods video! Your dad is a good craftsman to make something like that! To me, the food you make on camping trips always seems to better than home. And you can never go wrong with whiskey! Especially when you’re sitting around a fire in the winter!!
Careena, I enjoyed seeing the wooden box you Dad made for you. Custom Family Gifts are the best! That’s why I enjoy woodworking too. 😃
The first-time stove pipe roll is best done at home, on a perfectly flat surface, using an appropriate diameter and length of PVC pipe to roll it around. Having an assistant to help is also nice. You do you but I always trial new gear at home before venturing out.
Oh the triles and tribulations of titanium stove pipes. I've felt your angst.
Good job Alex. Don't give up on the stovepipe it's just like anything else the more you do it the easier it gets.☺
thankyou it's always a pleasure to see you and you're video's
Very nice tent. Meal looked awesome! Love the wooden cabinet your Dad made! Thanks for sharing
Absolutely amazing solo adventure my friend. Shots are beyond spectacular, truly inspiring work.
Really Cool and relax adventure in outdoor, great food, Nice video 👏👍😊
Another awesome video! Love the hot tent camping. Keep ‘em coming 👍
The box is beautiful, and the food looked delicious. Great video. 🌸
Me encanta todo tu equipo, chulísimo! Disfrútalo. Saludos
Bought this stove and tried it for the first time yesterday, i can relate so much to the pain of the stovepipe rolling process !
Love the old timey feeling of your gear the blend of modern and old school is something I enjoy, good to see oilcloth being used bought a tentsmiths 10x10 tarp after having a sil nylon one that ripped at every place imaginable
That's a nice little hot tent! I noticed the box early in the video. It's beautiful! Your dad did a great job!
I love the wood box your dad made!! Might have to try making one myself.
Good stuff! I agree, strapped down like your expecting Hurrican force winds.
I watched this video too close to my lunch time. Now I'm starving! 😁 Thanks for the wonderful post!
Haha thanks for the support as always Dennis!
Beautiful camp setup, and incredibly yummy-looking food! Really nice video!
Great way to end the week...get a notification of a new video from you! Camp cooking always seems to taste better, doesn't it? I wasn't even having to deal with trying to roll that stove pipe up and still felt frustrated by it just watching you struggle with it.
This is living the absolute dream. The only thing missing out is, you guessed it, nothing. I love to solo camp, making food for myself in nature, we all need people but not all of the time.
Thanks for the inspo 🌲
You certainly captured a great aesthetic on this video! Super cozy vibe - and the brie, mushroom, bacon, sourdough grilled cheese?? OMG.
Haha mouthwatering RIGHT? :P Thanks for watching!
Awesome Friday treat winter hot tent video from yourself
Thanks for watching
Thank you Alexis, very nice tent for enjoying the great outdoors! Happy Thanksgiving, be safe, stay healthy, & God Bless everyone.
Love your adventures, thanks for bringing me along!
no judgement here!!! there is nothin better then some whiskey on a cold winter day!!!! thanks for sharing & be safe out there
I have a small stove needs to have the stove pipe rolled like that. You gave me the idea to roll it out with a jumbo pool noodle or maybe a large cardboard roll in the middle than wrap the stovepipe along that. I am OCD like you and it has prevented me from doing it sooner. 😄 Great video!
I love this video. You do very good camera work showing your gear. You make me relax after a long workweek
Thanks for the video… I’m always enjoying them … stay safe and take care!!
So beautiful & peaceful✌✌I'm Impressed by your videos. Keep up the great work❣❣
Jamison! I knew there was something other than loving nature that I kept watching these videos!
always enjoy these videos seeing some of the authentic kit and tools you use for these camps is mega also Canada looks stunning particularly in winter, would love to visit one day.
Awsome setup and even better samich!
That made for a great campsite. Thank you.
Great Video, Fort Wayne Indiana 11.19.22 20 degrees on and off snow past three days. Not thing like N.Y. 60 INCHES in 24 hours. Great set up
I’ve learned using a fire proof mat helps maintain the heat in the tent, under the wood stove. I use it every time now, also using tyvek ground sheet helps under my blankets
I have one I use on longer trips yes
I just love your videos I’d love to be out in the wilderness camping and fishing. I watch your videos quite often almost every night you are awesome many thanks by the way Happy New Year
good video i like the old wood sea chest you have i built one back in my living history days... looks like a nice warm tent for deep winter camping
I adore you 😍 thanks for such a lovely video I am very glad to see you!
Great video look forward to them I built a bunkie on our bush lot and want to over night this winter. You make it look easy stay warm
that's a nice setup, definitely like the stove. buck saw was pretty cool too!
Ah yes. The first "burn" of a titanium roll-up stove pipe! LOL
A few years ago this problem came up in some backpacker forum I followed. The consensus was to do your first couple of "burns" in the back yard and use something like an 8 foot length of 2" PVC pipe to help you roll the metal the long way, then burn the stove good and hot. After being heated a couple of times the titanium becomes more pliable and is easier to handle in the field.
Love it, I have similar teepee and can't wait to a winter overnight! ThnQ Alexis!!
Alexis , I remember when you got the saw ,, Awesome little tent , it will be great for a over night in the snow ,, stay safe
Amazing video as usual! I need to get me a hot tent. Miss Grizz!
Awesome little tent. Looks great.
Excellent choice on the Jameson!!
Nice channel! I understand that if you start rolling the chimney tube on an angle at the start, then straighten toward the end of the process, it goes much easier. Also avoiding creases or dents helps as well. Just obtained one of these so I havent had the chance to try it yet. Also using some form of PVC pipe or other tube as a mandrel the first few times may help put some memory into the metal.
Godspeed and keep up the great work!
Using the stick to hold down the uncoiled stove pipe, then roll it around the stick length wise would be a simple technique. Best of luck to all.
Just discovered your channel…underrated tbh…love the vibe
I love how raw and transparent you are with your videos, really enjoyable to watch and peaceful :)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words :)
For sure :) hope you have a nice evening 😊🌌
Nice and cozy!
Another awesome video. Thank you
Great video, the sandwich looked delicious. The stove pipe, you showed Great patience.
Thanks for sharing!
LG Michael
Thanks for another great video! And that looked like a damn good sammich!!
Very enjoyable video.thanks
Great video, thanks for sharing. I had a good laugh at you setting up your stove pipe, I had a similar experience with mine. A tip I found was using a foam pool noodle for the first time setup. After your first burn in the pipe will keep its shape.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing more adventures with the new setup. Cheers!
Thanks for the tips!
Yes!!! I love your videos
I confess Alexis I did giggle when you were fighting with the stove tube. It would have done me in. The stove itself was great and would be great say for a weeks camping. But the tube needs refining. My favourite item was the travel chest. That’s something really special to have and cherish from your Dad. Cheers Alexis for another great post🥃
Krásna videa. 👏👏
You are one cool lady. When you make videos I look forward to them. This past week I ended up in the hospital had to have emergency surgery. Needless to say I almost lost my life. But I didn't so through a few days of pain at night I want you to know I watched your videos they kept me calm and focused. Thank you !!! I have have a long recovery ahead of me but watching your videos will get me through this.🫶🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this with me and I am so so sorry to hear you're going through a hard time right now. Keep your head up and stay positive, and I have been making an effort to release videos more often and this gives me all the more reason to do so! Sending healing vibes Andrea!! xo
@@careenaalexis thank you so much! I am getting out of the hospital today. But I have a long road ahead of me. But I'm thankful to be getting better and thanks again for the videos
Very cool video. I'm amazed you got that stove pipe up, I don't think i'd have the patience! Cool little tent too. Hot tent camping isn't something done in the UK I don't think, so nice to experience it thorough your adventures.
Here's hoping for lots more snow over there and over here (not likely here!)
Thanks so much for watching!
This video was quite enjoyable! 👌🏾
Glad to hear it!
If you are in the hunt for a premium cast iron pan, Fredericksburg Cast Iron #10 is the Fjallraven of cast iron skillets. Lodge are decent and the #10 is incredible
Wood stove fire roar... Nothing better ❤️
Good morning from Minnesota USA!! Great episode! Miss Grizz 😉
Pretty nice setup.
Thanks for the video
I tried to roll my first chimney almost the same way like you did, end results was I bought a new chimney googled how to DIY before rolling it, CLEAN smooth surface.
Awesome video !!
I have the same kind of stove, the first time you use the flue pipe try a drain pipe or something to roll it around. After the first burn it'll remember its shape. Also be very wary of the sharp edges - knoeing what it can do to leather gloves, I don't want to know what they can do to skin if you're not careful.
Awesome video!! 😁 Love your content and good luck on the house you’re doing great!
Thank you!! 😁
Great video. You have more patience that I do on that pipe. I saw another creator that used that pipe, and he had similar issues. I really enjoy your videos, on both channels. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
very good video thank you Alexis
I adore your idea of a grilled cheese sandwich!
Alexis ! You know I recently got my Spanish Oil tarp blanket from Spain and the thank you card from them had you on their card ! Just thought I would share it with your viewers !
Now that you know how that stove pipe works, it should be a bit easier next time. Just put the rings on as you roll to hold it.
That sandwich looked amazing!😁
Nice setup! I get anxiety just looking at those roll-up pipes though lol
Hahaha Right? Geeeeeze
assembling that stove chimney gave me anxiety lol. Glad you got it cause i would have gave up.
Great "warts and all" video. I have the same Winnerwell stove, but with the nested stove pipe. Soooo much easier :)
Amazing video! Sorry for laughing when the chimney top kept rolling on you😂. Made my mouth water when you made your food! I always enjoys the ones where you cook something delicious! Stay warm out there and can’t wait for the next video. Cheers!
Very cool video. Thanks for sharing.
this is the most entertaining video you've made, thank u 4 the laughs. (chic's rule).
Love the hot tent not to sure about stove. But the trunk your dad made is very nice .
Chef Careena👩🍳 New setup looks cozy!😁
Thanks Teun!! 😄
you opened that box and I saw the Jameson and I was like YES!!!! i love that....but we just came home from having sushi and I am totally full but that sammie looked awesome....I was bummed it wasn't an overnighter but next time...still dying to see the home and how it is coming along
I roll the chimney pipe from the corner at an angle, then twist it into shape once the rings are on
Love your Channel
Hi Alexis.! We do this atleast once a month up in the hills & hinterlands or outback desert. It is such a great feeling being away from everyone & everything urban. We're lucky that winter over here is not that drastic. A hot water bottle is quite sufficient. Nevertheless you do have an efficient set up but we try to be as minimalist as possible but not sacrificing safety & comfort. Good luck with the house building. Cheers mate. Greetings from Australia.
That sounds amazing, man I would sooo love to visit Australia someday, It's number one on my bucket list!
supposedly, wrapping the sheet around a pool noodle at home before you head out to the woods helps. Probably some vids out there to help you with how to use a sheet stove pipe tube.
Thank you for your honest opinion on the titanium stove which I found very helpful with my decision to buy or not buy one. I think I will pass despite the obvious benefits associated with weight savings. I will be going with a traditional hot tent stove made of rolled steel along with a nested stove pipe. My sincere thanks for making this video! Keep up the excellent work you're doing!
I feel your frustration on the stove pipe. Every time I see one of those, I always think it must be easier to simply pack some non-crushable stove pipe instead of wrestling with the roll-up version.
Lol those roll ups are a pain in the ass!! I had my sister in law help me and was still kinda jacked up!
Thanks. Pretty good pleasant video as usual!
