A picture is worth a thousand words........... but a hundred words could of summed up this 12 minute video just as well. lol.
i take it back. that is a rather lovely looking final product, good sir.
Save 6 minutes of your LIFE and skip from the 3 minute mark to the 9 minute mark! Do it NOW!
If he was a painter he'd make us watch paint dry :)
If he returned from vacation, he'd make us watch every slide.
The title says, "How to build ..." not "How to look at ...".
Some of us want to build this thing not just watch a light show.
Nomoreidsleft;) thanks dude.... just wait guys for the next Project how to build a LED Tube Display then i will even Show how to tie up shoes....
hey guys the new DIY Project is online check it out how to build a LED Display Part 2 LED rigid Bars 1000X2000mm foldable
Wow!!! Perfect for concerts and all other kinds of occasion. But you'll gonna need a lot of LED's for concerts.
Very cool. Thank you for posting this!
Would the software support adding stips in between the existing ones but shifting them sidewards by half a pixel? This would double the pixel density while avoiding it looking like there are vertical columns of gaps.
what a sweet project.. bravo!
this looks hella sick i have a pull down curtain like that in my room for my windows nice
need to stop this random youtube search streak
Great design !
Is inspiration for me...
very interesting whatching somebody working for minutes with a wooden yardstick, rearranging stuff over and over again instead of making one drawing geforehead and using a permanent) marker to transfer that, so that the actual glue process could be done straight away. And off course a great lesson for those never seen a hot air gun working.
OMG. awesome, congratulations
Really good
Awesome build!
I have a question about building my own LED panel. When using multiple power supplies does the data line run constant from the beginning of the led strips to the end? While the power lines are dedicated to however much current a specific power supply can handle?
Good explanation word writing in the screen👍
thanks for comment my Friend
I am very much interested to build my own LED sign. this will be very useful to get the basic knowledge. Wish to watch more.
end result looks quite good
Nice video. Thank You. You might appreciate a "Chalk Line" tool. Draw a straight line every time and never make a permanent mark on your background material..
عمل في غاية الروعة
Awesome!!!!! I want to build one
Flickering chain sequential on/off lighting has been done to death in conventional Christmas lights. They are very fatiguing & usually provide only a brief period of novelty.
There is a need to switch off a portion of the total to allow dimming but that's it.
Simplify the controller & reduce cost.
Would be cool to use for live set ups if it had MIDI support or connect via 1/4" input
wow! ..... yeah i'm gonna have to do this one day.
Is anyone going to mention to these technical GENIUSES... that "YOU'RE" has an " ' " in it... Not only that.. but YOURE.. grammatically means ": YOU ARE " think they were going for the word " YOUR "....
Great concept... great job by some creative minds... not sure what dis was wat dey wanded to saaaay... guess dat is dat... or somfin jus like dat...
Exclusive - Technology more than 130 comments are about this yes, so "youre" a little late ...
Did not scroll through the comments to see if anyone remarked about it... but... that was an excellent use of the word " you're " although you clearly never got how it works when you were in class learning English.
Not picking on you, not beating you up... this link will give you a chance to recall what you saw and forgot...
www.youryoure.com/
No big deal... it's just grammar... There are generations of kids growing up half ways educated not because they did not listen to what they were taught in school.. but because their parents did not know the difference at home... My dad called it constructive criticism. Your interest and effort in hands on technology development is ASTOUNDING...
Thanks for keeping us in the know...
a great idea, i'm looking foward to built my own.
then let´s go
I notice that the LED brightness drops from one side to the other. You need to put more power connections at ends and middle of strip to prevent voltage drop. if voltage drops from 3.7V at one end to 2.7V at other (not uncommon for that length) the LED at the 3.7V end will let more power than at 2.7V end. You can add more power at the 2.7V end and prevent "voltage sag" and make the display much better.
best led iv seen
AWSOME DESIGN !
these led strips are really expensive because you can control each led section, but if you have the money or you are a business it is certainly worth it!
How could someone dislike this? :) Nice project.
I find it funny that he corrected his grammar using incorrect grammar!
" all this cool thing ", great video thank you for sharing.
You put way too many boxes on top of your video. One or two is fine, but all of these really took away from the video.
+Nic Chauvin
Ya youtube should invent some way to turn off the boxes... like maybe some sort of toggle option... that you can acess in say some sort of 'settings' icon... on the bottom right of the screens....
Great stuff!
best led ever
I think the air intake for the heat gun is on the back of the gun. Blocked off when you set it down like you did.
Thats a awesome thing! Thumbs up.
It is times like these that I realise that I actually have a boring life.
why you can do it just wait for our next 3 DIY´s coming before christmas i hope you will enjoy it
the LED strip he is using has the positive and negative leads, but also has a data and timer lead, allowing control over an individual led. they come at a cost though, as in they are a bit more expensive than the ordinary LED strip.
smart idea and smart way ,
Love how the kid jacks your phone at 9:22 lol
ejunky66, what soft you use, its looks amazing, really?

I'm Curious If I can use a LED Curtain like this with other lighting programs like Chauvet ShowXpress or at least trigger the patterns with other programs. Does This curtain have DMX Inputs when its finished?
masters of world
should made yourself a transfer using some wide masking tape or gaffer tape lightly pressed together!
which programme do you using for programming?
very easy way to build a curtain is to buy some flexible plastic garden fencing... I then was able to insert square based pixels into each spot in the garden fence at whatever spacing i wished.. connected them all to the controller and execute my MADRIX software to run them as a light show.. the trick was the garden fencing because the curtain can be rolled up and placed in the trunk of a car or a pickup truck easily. each part of my curtain is 16 feet long by 4 ft wide... I can easily attach them to the side of buildings, on poles, etc... very durable, flexible.. if the wind gets strong they bend and dont break...
can you explain in more detail on how to wire (interconnect) all the cut strips from the start to end of the run?
yes you are right
Incrível que esses vídeos de painéis são todos antigos

Just curious, can you program it to be a "Music Visualizer" ?
By the way, very nice project! You did a good job!
would have set up a scheme to connect your source and the LED on the controller? type know qa amount of LED and power at the source, and the number of LEDs per controller channel
' I can't get enough pink!!' LOL
and it will save you having to re-solder/ sodder when you have moved it about a bit (its a very good idea to cover all soldered wire connections with heatshrink the solder isn't as flexible as the wire so it ends up under stress creating premature dry joints
for less than a buck a yard its worthwile :D
Nice job
Wow man great craftsmanship. I hope one day ill be able to figure out how to at least make one of these. let alone make it this good. if you have any tips or tricks on how you went about making it please contact me.

How do you control the LEDs individually when the strips only have common wires? Would love to see wifi g diagram. Great post and DIY vid!!
Smart guy
from what i have checked on e-bay, you have to have the light strips with the IC chips in the strips, and are expensive, Plus the controller, 50$, still looking into this setup....
Simple math. Video says he cut at 1200 mm. 16 rows times 1,2 = 19,2. He used four rolls (4,8 meters from each).
Hey Tanks for this video was good to see it , i think was a good idea to post it here :)
