    Would the software support adding stips in between the existing ones but shifting them sidewards by half a pixel? This would double the pixel density while avoiding it looking like there are vertical columns of gaps.

    very interesting whatching somebody working for minutes with a wooden yardstick, rearranging stuff over and over again instead of making one drawing geforehead and using a permanent) marker to transfer that, so that the actual glue process could be done straight away. And off course a great lesson for those never seen a hot air gun working.

    I have a question about building my own LED panel. When using multiple power supplies does the data line run constant from the beginning of the led strips to the end? While the power lines are dedicated to however much current a specific power supply can handle?

    Flickering chain sequential on/off lighting has been done to death in conventional Christmas lights. They are very fatiguing & usually provide only a brief period of novelty.
    There is a need to switch off a portion of the total to allow dimming but that's it.
    Simplify the controller & reduce cost.

      Did not scroll through the comments to see if anyone remarked about it... but... that was an excellent use of the word " you're " although you clearly never got how it works when you were in class learning English.
      Not picking on you, not beating you up... this link will give you a chance to recall what you saw and forgot...

      No big deal... it's just grammar... There are generations of kids growing up half ways educated not because they did not listen to what they were taught in school.. but because their parents did not know the difference at home... My dad called it constructive criticism. Your interest and effort in hands on technology development is ASTOUNDING...

    I notice that the LED brightness drops from one side to the other. You need to put more power connections at ends and middle of strip to prevent voltage drop. if voltage drops from 3.7V at one end to 2.7V at other (not uncommon for that length) the LED at the 3.7V end will let more power than at 2.7V end. You can add more power at the 2.7V end and prevent "voltage sag" and make the display much better.

  • @eldoradoboy
    @eldoradoboy Před 9 lety

    very easy way to build a curtain is to buy some flexible plastic garden fencing... I then was able to insert square based pixels into each spot in the garden fence at whatever spacing i wished.. connected them all to the controller and execute my MADRIX software to run them as a light show.. the trick was the garden fencing because the curtain can be rolled up and placed in the trunk of a car or a pickup truck easily. each part of my curtain is 16 feet long by 4 ft wide... I can easily attach them to the side of buildings, on poles, etc... very durable, flexible.. if the wind gets strong they bend and dont break...
