I have a video out about drink prices (see the playlist) i recorded it in a way to answer this question because your drink habits.. vs. the commenter above and below. you.. are ALL different! but tbh... i dont pay for drinks anymore. or anything on the ship... cuz i work with a travel agent that gets so much sailor loot (and can rebook you as well with more loot). hope you got a good deal!!! 🤘🏽 that video is in the playlist for drink prices!
Loving your videos!! This was extremely helpful as I got a bar tab when I booked my cruise, and then additional bar tab when we had to reschedule because of the issues with Brilliant Lady. I have a question though; will VV use my bar tab for drinks before they tap into my Sailor Loot? I have both and I want to be able to use my loot to splurge and spoil myself, but I know it can also be used for the bar. So will the bar tab need to be used first before they would use the sailor loot ?
a great question! yes.. the bar tab will be tapped first. i hope you have a ton of sailor loot. my last sailing i had $1100 in sailor loot for 1 person for 4 nights because I used my travel agent. I did have $100 free bar tab because of my "deep blue perks" (or whatever they're called). and as expected.. my first glass of moet came out of bar tab (i used that bar tab real fast so it started coming out of sailor loot). LOL! ENJOY!
I love that there is no drink package. We drink relatively little, so needing to buy a package for both people in the cabin at a cost of $70-130 each never made sense to us. The bar tab concept on VV works great, especially with tips included and often a free bar tab or a bonus on top of what you are paying (pay $300, get an additional $50 , $100 , or $125 added (depending on your loyalty status). Currently many bookings include a free $600 bar tab. ALWAYS check with your travel agent--there are many specials that can get you $600 in Loot or more as well as the bar tab deal. As long as you are in international waters, the price on the menu is the price you pay (no additional 18-20% tip...those are included in your cruise fare!). You will be charged local taxes or VAT if the ship is in a location that requires a charge.
I agree. Last time we spent just under $150 for 7 days, and we had $700 in Bar Tab. This year we have $600 in bar tab ($300 for a 7-day cruise, $200 from our TA, and $100 for Deep Blue Extras) and don't expect to come close to spending it all. We were Rockstars last time and literally never opened the bar in our room. That was really wasted on us.
It's all relative isn't it? I spent an hour negotiating in spanish to save some absurd amount of money on a car rental.. and once I did the math to figure out what that savings was in USD... it was $5. I still felt pretty solid about it tho. lol

For those, that have left over sailor loot. You can purchase perfume, a bottle, to use up the remainder before last day.
