- Exploring Somerset (Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Tyntesfield)// Exploring Somerset (Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Tyntesfield)// We've been to Somerset a couple of times and feel that we only scratched the surface of this beautiful and hilly county! Bath is our favourite city down south which is why we always have to visit when in Somerset. Somehow we're usually drawn to the Royal Crescent but we also explored the Assembly Rooms and decided very last minute to go to the fashion museum. It was absolutely beautiful, there was even a wonderful exhibition with dresses worn by the Queen, Princess Margaret etc.
For all lovers of nature, we recommend a hike in Cheddar Gorge which has some breathtaking views.
And what can I say about Tyntesfield? It's a Downton Abbey dream come to life.

Joerg has the funniest sense of humor. My husband and I crack up laughing when he cuts loose. He is seemingly very serious in most videos, and then all of a sudden, he shows his true colors 😂😂😂

Where I live on the Northern part of Vancouver Island there are no beautiful old buildings... no beautiful new buildings either... we only have rugged nature here with many wild animals such as cougars, bears, deer, racoons, and countless Bald Eagles to be aware of... we do have majestic huge fir trees and some lovely lakes and waterfalls... I miss being in Europe where I lived from 1968 to 1977 and visited about 25 Countries there and in North Africa... There are so many different Worlds on Planet Earth...

I love Somerset! My sister lives near Wells - and she worked at the Fashion Museum in Bath. I was holding my breathe waiting to see if I would see her. We went to Tyntesfield just after the National Trust had bought the property. Only the ground floor was open at the time - the tour guide told us that all of the rooms on the first floor still needed to be inventoried and restored.
OMGosh....my vertigo kicked in, felt like I was going to fall off the edge. I'd pass on the cheddar too, now Gouda would be another story. Thanks for taking us along again, it was Lovely........

It was so good to see Bath again. I spent many happy days exploring Bath. It was just a short train or bus trip from Bradford-on-Avon where I was staying. Thanks for this. It's like reliving my holiday all over again. So many happy memories.

I ❤the garden grounds lovely lavender so much. Food looked amazing the salad n beets.
The gorge walk looks much like the walk from the little town on the seashore a few hours drive from Glastonbury. But it was nice to see and visit the little chapel in the woods. it was quite a hike till we got there. We could hear the sea with its waves all time while climbing up. I am also in love with the cosiness of Britain myself. I could not find it anywhere else in the world.
I live in dairy country in California and cows are everywhere. They look so big, and just stare at one, so they intimidate me, too. I never thought of clapping, what a great trick.

I love all these locations, the Gorge, Bath, and the Talbot Inn with it’s old courtyard, wonderful. I have to start keeping a list of all the great places you visit, for when I go to England some day.
I have been to the Grand Canyon, but the Cheddar Gorge looks lovely too. Maybe not as big, but lovely in its own right.

Hi Kirsten and Joerg. I’m watching your older videos and had to comment on Bath. I was there just before you, early September 2018, and loved it. It is so beautiful. My ancestors are from Somerset and Wiltshire, mostly close to Frome which is a very artsy town that I think you’d like, and I love the whole area.

It is all so beautiful! Love your dress and hat, it really makes me smile and makes the setting like a frame for you. Of course we’ve seen the Crescent in many pictures and movies but it is so nice to see you all there, it makes it more real and personal. Cows are actually very sweet, loving animals when they
aren’t made to be afraid. In the U.S. there are sanctuaries
for rescued farm animals. You can see them online and
visit them in person. One is called The Gentle Barn, in
California, and one is Farm Sanctuary in New York State.
People love to go there to hug and cuddle with the cows
and other animals. It is a blessing to get to know these
animals as they really are:gentle, kind and sweet.

Total, gehört zu meinen Lieblingsstädten. Als wir vor 2 Jahren dort waren, war kurz darauf das Jane Austen Festival und viele liefen in den Kostümen herum, das war genial.
