- Greetings everyone, in this video, I would like to introduce you to an exceptional ambient lighting kit that I came across, which I believe will be an excellent addition to your car. Today, we will be installing this kit on our 2006 BMW E91 330d. I have previously reviewed and installed two different kits, but this one is by far the most exceptional!
Now, let's talk about the most noticeable differences between this kit and others that I have used in the past. Firstly, it has an OEM look, which means it blends in perfectly with your car's interior. Secondly, it comes with a slimmer fiber optic cable and fully integrated LEDs, which means that you no longer have to deal with one bulb powering fiber optic. Thirdly, it is five times brighter, making it the perfect choice for those who prefer brighter lighting. Fourthly, it is fully RGB, which can be controlled through a remote or an app. Additionally, this kit comes with footwell lights, door handles, and glovebox lights. Lastly, there are no hotspots to worry about.

Just got a set for my e90, going to install later!!. I would normally find a cheaper alternative but ive seen first hand how bad cheap ones are. This video sold me since its the same car as mine and i can see the final result. Thanks again!

which wire did you use on driver door? When I turn off the car the strip on the doors stay active for about 2 seconds.
Hi I love the video and I'm in the middle of installing mine. My phone app doesn't look the same as yours. Any idea if you can dim certain lights? On the app you can only dim zones together
i think u can only dim whole zones
Hab das beim E60 auch gemacht vorne in den Türen kann man Plus vom Lautsprecher nehmen. Dann leuchten die sobald Zündung an ist und nicht nur wenn die Lichter eingeschaltet sind. Hinten musste ich Strom von der vorderen Sitzverstellung nehmen unter den Teppich verlegen, entlang der B-Säule und dann durch die Tür. Trotzdem habt ihr sehr saubere Arbeit geleistet. Hammer Ergebnis. Sollte keine Kritik sein nur halt ein Tipp vielleicht fürs nächste Mal

Can you stop the start animation and start with solid color ? Is this have dual mode color a?
I think it would have looked a little better if you put the door handle lights on the bottom-side so the handle would cover the dot, but otherwise nice work!

Door handle light should be mounted at the very top facing down so the source is not visible, you have mounted it on the vertical panel facing inwards towards the occupants. I'm not sure if the suggested way is possible on this bmw but that's where oem lights are installed, very top facing down and thats where I would try to install it.

Wheels are 9x19 with an offset of and 225/35 19 and 10x19 offset 45 with 235/35 19 :)
Probably the best ambient lighting kit I've seen to date! Do you reckon it would fit perfectly in a e92? Given that the doors are longer than the e91?

Moin, wie habt ihr es an der tür angeschlossen? Es schein mir so als hätte das kabel für die fenster nicht genügend power.

Sehr schön 👍 kannst du die streifen auch z.B. in Rot leuchten lassen und trotzdem noch die Farbe der Türen ändern? Also das der Fußraum die Türen und die Streifen alle eine andere Farbe haben ?

Hello! Where did you eventually connect wires for the doors? I've connected mine as well on window motor, but it's not working properly... Lights won't turn off and they only turn on with a remote. Also, I can no longer long press on my keys to close/open windows. Any suggestions please?

Can you make gradients without animations? Wondering because I dont care about the animations, just thinking if I should save 30 bucks and get the one with solid colors only. But gradinets that dont move would be cool.

Passen die Streifen ( bei Amazon in Beschreibung steht 70 und 90 cm) von der Länge her auch , wenn man keinen idrive Monitor hat ?
Danke, wenn man kein Bildschirm hat dann braucht man 2 lange streifen hab aber im netz kein kit gefunden wo 2 lange streifen dabei sind, mein Bruder hat auch ein e91 ohne idrive da haben wir dann nur den einen langen streifen am Armaturenbrett verbaut :)
Für alle die das Problem haben , dass die Streifen zu kurz sind :
Man kann den Händler anschreiben, und kann gegen Aufpreis 110cm lange Streifen aus China liefern lassen.

For that you need to buy rgb version and not this one with effects.

there is doublesided tape on these lamps i just used this and till now it holds up no issues

Ich glaub bei mir war Sicherung nr 15 frei ansonsten einfach mit dem Multimeter alle freien Sicherungen ab messen und schauen wo Strom anliegt bei Zündung an
Where did you power the host box? I used the window cables to power the assist boxes but I don’t know where to power the host box.
Check with an multimeter in the fusebox the empty spots if there is anything wheres only power when ignition is turned on then u can take power from there
Würde die Option bestehen das das Licht mit der angeh- Animation direkt an bleibt? Und kommt die Animation auch wenn’s aus geht?
Bei der einschalt Animation kann man leider nichts ändern die app ist auch nicht sonderluch gut gemacht ☹️

I dont know what the problem is have u checked power and try to disconnect one by one light strip from the main box maybe data wire is to long

Kannst du zeigen wo und wie du die am Stromnetz angeschlossen hast ?
Die hauptbox einfach am sicherungskasten, mit dem multimeter nach nachgemessen wo Strom ist wenn Zündung an ist und dann dort die Sicherung die im kit dabei ist rein gesteckt und die Tür boxen an der Beleuchtung von fensterheber Schalter. :)

Wie habt ihr die Boxen mit dem Host verbunden ? Hab’s eigentlich so wie ihr gemacht vorne gehts ohne Probleme , aber hinten verbinden die sich nicht Bzw leuchten garnicht :(
Also die boxen komunizieren über Bluetooth mit einandern, hast du sie richt an strom angeschlossen ? Strom von der grau roten Leitung am fensterheber schaltung und masse von der braunen ?

U would need just the main box with two or 3 light strips :) but iam not sure if there is such a smal kit for sale

With mouth idrive u need 2 long stripes just text the seller and he will send u 2 long stripes

I used an empty spot in the fusebox just check before if the is only power when igniton is turned on :)

Hey hätte ne frage du hast ja 2 streiten am Armaturenbrett oben und unten woher hast du die zweite her ? Ist ja nur ein langes im set dabei und links neben dem Lenkrad fehlt die untere Seite gibt’s da noch ne Möglichkeit?

maybe the brightness for the cluster light is to low so the voltage drops below the working range for the LED ambientlight otherwise idk

Grüßt euch, ich hätte da eine frage und hoffe ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen. Ich versuche gerade an der Türe die 12v abzugreifen. Nach meiner Messung habe ich an den fensterschalter nur 5V anliegen. Dürfte ich fragen woher ihr für die türen die 12v her habt ?
Check mal ob die dimmung der Innenraum Beleuchtung ganz runter geregelt ist dann geht da auch die Spannung runter :) am blinker hebel kann man das einstellen
@@garage.86 entweder bin ich gerade zu blöd die beleuchten über den blinkerschalter zu bedienen oder ich hab keins😅 aber warum sollte an dem Fensterheber die spannung von 5v auf 12v steigen wenn ich daran ändere ?

Looks amazing! Soon I will be getting my e60 (first BMW, before I used to own Opel Corsa and then Astra) and it would look just lovely inside! 🤓 Is it hard to do for a begginer or better to get it done in a shop?
Thanks for the positive feedback well its not that hard of a job if u have done already a few DIY Projects u can easily do it ur self i always would try to do it yourself so u learn something new and if u are on a point where u dont know further then u can always ask some friends or people from the internet :)

Nicht in der mittlelkonsole sondern an den schaltern in den türen selbst ist ein grau rotes kabel das is für die Beleuchtung

@@garage.86In der Mittelkonsole wird man ja warscheinlich viele verschiedene möglichkeiten haben, beleuchtung vom warnblinkschalter, DTC schalter, ZV schalter etc.
ja beim warnblinkschalter ist des kabel für die beleuchtung auch grau rot @@I-am-L3g3nD

Ja klar :) fürn e46 wüsste ich gar nur nicht von wo du Stromversorgung nehmen kannst für die vorderen Türen weil der Fensterheber Schalter ist ja in der mittelkonsole

For the doors u only need to connect the box to power, we used the window regulator switch the brown and grey red wire these are for lighting up the switch at night
@@garage.86 so the red grey wire on mine is on still after the power drls are turned off.. there is two brown wires too
@@garage.86 on my harness, I have a red with a gray strip, brown wire, a white wire with a brown strip, a red wire with a yellow strip, a yellow wire, and another brown wire. Total 6 wires on my harness.

yes but i cant recommend the kit from ali express the app is really bad also i got 20 in 1 kit so i theoretically have 4 stripes for dash but if u connect all 4 stripes then all the lights are glitching and dont work properly thats why i didnt put the aliexpress link in description the kit of amazon is pretty solid no issues so far :)

Also ich habs jetzt nicht ganz verstanden habt ihr eine Lösung wegen dem Fehler mit dem Fenstereinklemschutz gefunden? Ansonsten wirklich super Video! Ich werde es demnächst auch machen wenn ich die Zeit finde. :D
Ja, in der Anleitung steht man soll das an der Stromzufuhr vom Fensterheber anklemmen aber das problem ist das der einklemm schutz durch die höhere stromabnahme dann nicht richtig funktioniert, und die Lösung war dan im Endeffekt die tür module an die Beleuchtung vom fensterheber schalter zu klemmen, so leuchten die türen zwar immer von wenn licht angeschaltet ist aber mich störts ehrlich gesagt nicht, das Armaturenbrett leuchtet sobald zündung an ist

Hey ich hätte noch eine kleine Frage und wäre euch mega dankbar wenn ihr sie mir beantworten könntet. Ihr habt ja vorne drei Led Streifen benutzt. (Fahrer Seite das kürzeste und auf Beifahrer ein langes und ein etwas kürzeres) Wie habt ihr die angeschlossen? Bei meinem host gibt es zwei Kabel eins ist LED Zone und eins ist Foot Zone. Es gibt einen zweier Splitter welches man an die LED Zone anschließen kann damit man zwei LED Streifen anschliessen kann. Es bleibt aber dann trotzdem eins unabgeschlossen. Ich hoffe ich konnte erklären was ich meine und ihr könnt mir damit helfen.
@@Remomniac bei uns waren mehrere solche spliter kabel dabei, ich hab auch noch eins übrig wenn du den brauchst kann ich ihn dir evtl sogar zuschicken, müssen nur schauen ob die stecker gleich sind :)
@@garage.86 Oh das wäre wirklich super! Ich wohne auch in München und könnte den Splitter, wenn es passen sollte, eventuell sogar abholen kommen. Ich würde dir dann dafür auch was zahlen. :) Also die Anschlüsse bei mir sind 4 Pin und ich habe genau die gekauft, die du unter dem Video verlinkt hast. :D
