Just came back from New Orleans, which has a murder rate higher than Brazil and I must say I am happy to be back in Toronto, where the biggest complaint in town is green lights on a building 🤣🤣
Haha right
I think it looks great. It shouldn't be turned off at all. Let it be part of the skyline. People complain about everything, nothing can be done in this city. I won't be surprised if they say it needs to be studied. Other major cities try to enhance their city with lights, people here complain about it, just cry babies.
I think it is a beautiful addition to Downtown TO
Certainly adds light to the city core. Thank u, Ana.
I think it looks pretty cool! Also pretty cool that they incorporated the original building into it. I had more to comment but as I was typing you were saying exactly what I was typing lol. I totally agree with you on this situation
Awesome sharing 👍
Thank you so much 🙂
well done! you introduced me to this new building...i knew nothing about it! now i can't un-see it...I work in the annex and i can't see it from there:) i'll have to check it out up close soon
Thank u, Boom! Definetly worth checking out the TD Terrace up close.
I think it looks great. Adds some more character to our skyline. I think that’s a good thing. There will always be cry babies for everything. Your video is the first time I’ve had a good look at this new tower. “Out with the old, in with the new” indeed!
Thank you so much for sharing. Look forward to more videos from you going forward in 2024. Cheers Once Upon. 😀
Cheers to you too! Your channel is exceptional and is a pleasure to watch! 🙂
Amazing Video
Thank u, Sunjib 🙂
Walking on Lower Simcoe several weeks ago we had to keep a look-out for falling snow and ice due to the scalloped design of the building. It seems to accumulate snow and ice on the upper portions of the curves and eventually drops them on pedestrians walking below. There were numerous signs warning people about the falling ice and snow. In winter I would recommend walking on the west side of Lower Simcoe when near TD Terrace.
Ugh, that ain't good thank u 4 sharing. Much appreciated Daniel 🙂
In London there is a lot of this type of architecture, looks cool
I agree, thank u for watching 🙂
Lovely video 🙂
Much appreciated, Harjot! 🙂
What an amazing addition to the skyline. Toronto is known for its modern architecture. So I find this to be an extra modern look. Many buildings and cities for that matter are doing this. It’s beautiful. And really makes the city look much nicer and more big league. They are bright but the light complaint is silly in a major city. Really, It’s where people go to see tall buildings, night lights, glitz and glamour. Fun and entertainment. Really updates the skyline. Torontos growing up. Literally as far as architecture goes. I can hardly wait for the NIMBYS to say negative about the currently under construction of Forma Condo with its aluminum like cladding that ripples and reflects light in every direction. Silver chrome cladding and shiny windows. And big blocks shifted.. and at 70 ish stories. And a second even taller not yet started. Both will be iconic for sure as this now is. But most enjoy city lights I’d think air not in there windows at night (though shades do wonders for that) and only feel lighting is a natural part of especially major ones but cities in general. Many many people locals or tourist’s enjoy such things so I wouldn’t worry about the negative. CN tower is worse and blinks if one thinks about it. Very distracting for drivers to no? And all have blinking safety lights at certain hieghts no? So.. what line does one cross or make here? Really
Some really interesting and valid points, thank u for ur thoughts on this video and TD tower. Much appreciated 👍
Nice building. It's great that the lights go off at 11 o'clock. Once again TO has incorporated another great building into the existing skyline/city!
Indeed, thank u 4 watching 🙂
"Eyesore," they say. Rubbish! I absolutely love how you captured these illuminated buildings.✨️✨️✨️❤❤❤ You had me at "angle."😊
Haha 🙂 much appreciated Gabriela
Love it
Looks awesome!!
It is!
Great video have a great day from Estelle 😊
Thank u, u 2 Estelle 🤗
Love the lights looks cool
It is! Thank u 4 watching, much appreciated 🙂
Some cities completely cover their buildings entirely in screens now in other countries. Be glad we don’t do that and simply use lights/lighting to highlight or flatter the buildings we have rather than make them look like giant add trash eyesores. I don’t see the harm in one or two here and there being lit up like this. And it’s not always fully lit like this every night.
Thanks for the video. Been watching this get built over the last years. Turned out so nice IMO. love to the
#❤NEW TD TOWER TORONTO
I agree, this tower is stunning. Thank u for watching Oddworld 🙂
It's an amazing building, I saw it 2 weeks ago. If people don't like it, move out of downtown Toronto. Suburbs are extremely quiet.
Suburds are real quiet 🙂
I love it
Thank u for watching @tyy123 🙂
@@onceuponacity you are welcome
looks pretty nice
Thank you
Bring a couple cutting edge modernist skyscrapers like these to stagnant Buffalo. Our skyline needs major help along with our economy.
Sorry to hear that, this skyscraper is a beauty. Although there is a lot of vacant office space in some of the skyscrapers in Toronto due to work from home and downsizing. I do hope Buffalo can thrive and grow. Thank you for your comment. Take care 🙂

Thank u 🙂
great video
Much appreciated 🙂
I didn’t notice this building when I was visiting Toronto but then I wasn’t out at night but I will look for it next time I visit Toronto.
Maybe it looks ok lit up at night from the ground but maybe if you lived in one of the towers around that building the lighting is a issue.
Thank u 4 ur thoughts Jeff, much appreciated 🙂
When they were testing it the whole building was flashing different colours
Thank u 4 sharing and watching 🙂
Do you think it hides the view from the CN tower?
I don't think it does, thank u 4 watching Gorizzah 🙂
@@onceuponacity NP, awesome TTT friend
I like it
Sure is a nice addition to the skyline, thank u 4 watching 🙂
I lived in Hong Kong some time ago. Lights are great, Toronto needs more lights, it's the way of the future.
Agree! Thank u 🙂
2nd 't' in Toronto isn't pronounced by born and raised Torontonians. Just for your info ...
Bet ur one of those folks who correct spelling in texts u may receive too...emphasis on MAY. I am born and raised here now bugger off with ur nit picking 👍
@@onceuponacity5:21 and you can also bugger off with yours
@ 5:21 calling people 'cry babies'? You can bugger off with your nit picking.
As you allude to, they are middle income/middle class. They MAY need the lights off sooner so they can sleep a good 8 hours before waking up at 6am. If they manage to have the lights off at 10pm, good for them and it's not the end of the world for 1 more hour of lights off.
@@onceuponacity No miss I completely think you’re wrong I don’t think that individual was trying to come across as rude or nitpickey at all , but Torontonians at least the grand majority do not say “toron-TOE”… that is unfortunately incorrect and has been kind of communicated widespread in pop culture now.
We say it as “Toron-no” or “Chrono”, but yes most people nowadays will meet you with scorn if you say it like that.
For reference it’s as if someone were to pronounce “Queens quay” as ‘Queen’s Kway’ instead of “Queen’s Key” 😊
Leave it to the people in Toronto to complain about anything and everything.
Some people gotta find something to whine about.
Why are most Torontonians such crybabies?
@@r.pres.4121 Cuz we have'nt won a Stanley Cup for over 50 years!!
It's beautiful. Some people rate lake ontario a 1.5 so can't care less about crybabies lol
Exactly! Thank u 🙂
I think it’s butt ugly with all the lights. Architecture shouldn’t need lights to make it appealing
Eiffel Tower has lights ...
It's to brightly. And what's about THE one I really dislike the architecture design.
Perhaps it is too bright if you live in the condos surrounding it. Appreciate your thoughts.
Boring architecture! Just more glass and steel! Ho hum...........yawn.🥱
Haha...to each their own 🙂
TD Tower: Pick me, Pick me!!!! I am amazed anyone likes this building. It looks so tacky. I thought I would get used to it but I dislike it more and more each time I see it. You say it can be seen from the expressway..... this eyesore can be seen from outer space. It's actually a nice building during the day with the lights off but looks like a christmas tree on steroids at night. You would think a major financial institution would want to maintain a timeless classy and sophisticated appearance. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe the architect who designed the original TD Towers (TD Centre) is rolling in his grave. I think the people who like this building take vacations to Disneyland, have personalized licence plates, enjoy the gaudiness of Clifton Hill and the sleaziness of the Vegas strip. I was at the top of the Manulife for dinner last month and the view of the skyline was spectacular other than the green blob that tries way too hard!! The saying "No amount of money can buy taste" is appropriate in this instance.
Your points are well said, Paul. Let's agree to disagree on the lights. Thank u for watching.
If you can gain a new skyscraper take it, some places haven’t built anything new in years. It’s just a sign that your city is still thriving and building up. I’m from Chicago but have a love for Toronto because of a special woman I knew from Toronto. Toronto is the reason I have a passport. But yeah, I messed up with her.
Sorry 2 hear that, agree that it is a sign of a thriving city. Thank u 4 watching 🙂
