Straight Chase Patterns VS Double Chase Patterns

  • All "Beat Juggles" contain root movements. A root movement is the primary basis of any given pattern of hand moves that influence the way a "Beat Juggle" sounds. Think of it as the "home" of the "Beat Juggle" you're performing.
    Take for example DJ Shortkut's "Strobe" aka "Chase" pattern. It's root movement derives from my #NobodyBeatsTheBiz "Swing" patterns. Shortkut's omission of the backspin contained in my "Swing" pattern (the root move) transforms the "Swing" into a "Chase" because the pattern goes from a curling motion to a linear one. Hence, it's built off a root "Beat Juggle" move.
    The best "Beat Jugglers" understand how to layer the root move of a pattern by executing extra record and fader hand moves to achieve a more powerful, dynamic and denser, if you will, "Beat Juggle".

    5:05 i think no one understood what he was saying, but i completely get what he means right there.. i had te same problem... i didnt know you had to just catch the fist snare with he fader (no hands involved) just like him. When i figured that out, i couldnt really catch te snare on time, so i had to move faster... and then it all worked out.. i am doing this juglle blindfolded now.. i only learned it yesterday

    Got the straight chase locked in for all bpms, now I gotta learn this double. Your tutorials are so helpful🙏 What helped me (other than this video) was using my lower body to bounce and my hands just followed.
    Yo Rob, just wondering out of all of the Root Moves, how difficult is this one in comparison to the others 1-14?

    @FaderFlosser Před 4 lety

    Rob you are not doing a snare fill because the hand pattern is excactly the same as the normal chase you just double up the crossfader on the snare...We are not changing the hand movements just the fader. Not to be telling the master what's up but it is what it is😉

    I've been trying to get this down for a long time but I just can't get the timing right! When you do your chase you seem to pull the record back slightly on both hands as if to give yourself more time, do you do that on purpose?
