While I share your sentiments, that's just not FAMU's style. With their reputation, I wished that they would be doing crazy, groundbreaking material that makes everyone else's mind swim because of their history of being trendsetters. However, they're all about tradition down there, so I wouldn't advise anyone to get their expectations up on switching to a technical style. LOL
@@MARCHING100PAPARAZZI Well, it's not obvious because I don't know. I've had this conversation with Z 28 members over the decades since I was in high school. They told me that the line plays for themselves and that's it. They developed their own style of playing and their material reflects it. As long as they're happy with how they're playing they couldn't care less about what another line thinks, and they're not going to switch up their style just to make someone else happy. It's paraphrased, but that all came from the mouths of FAMU drumline alumni. But I'm teachable. Help me out. How am I wrong?
Back story: This game, the section still had on the Rose Bowl heads from the yr before. So basically we have/had 2 different size snares....the 14in snares have Kevlar heads on them and the 15in have mylar heads(hard to find 15in snare heads nowadays)on them. The one on the end is a 15in so thats why you can hear that overtone of the head....good ear by the way
FAMU's snare drums have always sounded like snare drums. Sounds great.
No FAMU snares sound like shit the players make them sound ten times better
You sound crazy
@@MARCHING100PAPARAZZI heck no if you listen to a regular marching snare it sounds really good you listen to FAMU snares they sound like shit
Thats what a snare sounds like
It doesn't sound bad. Just extremely "wet."
242 around da world🇧🇸
It’s neat that you went for traditional sounding drums! Really brings it back to the 90’s of drumline!
Loving the diversity in HBCU bands nowadays....
The white dude is choppin on snare. No cap. Love the diversity!
Nothing like this!!!
Excellent!
That shit was funky wooooow amazing please show more like this so we can tell who the greats are!!

242 or nothing 🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸
I think they have a new coordinator 👏🏾
???
Mr. James is still there.
Dr. James is a "seinor" staff member. 50+ yrs at FAMU
I saw that missed stick flip 😑 outside of that, nice work
DaShawn Sly thought i was the only one💀
Hubba! 🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸

This ain't the section back then....So Famu section will be doing a lot more
@@MARCHING100PAPARAZZI
Interesting. I look forward to seeing it!
🎶🎶🎶 Go FAMU
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It’s ok, not the same!
What brand snares are those? It sounds like a hybrid between Kevlar and concert.

i see my old section leader sanel thats fun
Hubba young z...🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍
IT'S NICE, BUT IT'S NOT EVOLVING WITH THE #1 THING...
"OPEN"!
Alright I see you Issac 😂
I'm a percussionist, can someone tell me why they are playing those outdated drums?
you do know Ming is a fairly new drum company? These are custom drums ming made for Famu. Please do research before speaking....
That's there sound, just like Southern and Jackson State.....
FAMU is a line that is steeped in tradition and there is a specific sound that they go for.
@@MARCHING100PAPARAZZI I know about Ming percussion and but from my own opinion those traditional marching snare drums are outdated.
Are you talking about the SOUND or the DRUM, because you specifically said outdated drums....
bethune cookman all day
Amazing
Nah very different
I mean honestly, the quarter notes were not clean. Basics
Cool
Need some new heads for those snares....bass drums need some love too
Those are new heads from the Rose Bowl
You need new HEADS!! Or at least tighten!! Quads need tuning too....the snare line is tight!! Like to hear them once they are set up correctly
That’s There Sound if u think about it
I like the new direction bc they were the biggest and probably the worst in the MEAC
They ain’t fucking with a SWAC drumline period especially MVSU drumline and JSU band and drumline famu trash compared to them
@@sywill7426 Trash??
Why are their drums way up in their chins?
They arent
MARCHING 100 PAPARAZZI they’re WAY too high brother. I like FAM but they should bring their drums down about an inch and a half.
babyboy your opinion does not matter in this percussion section. Sorry boss.
@@REPUBLICANSAREBEYONDSTUPID we like our drums to our waist or alittle below.
They also have to be high enough to match.
eww those heads you can barely make out what theyre playing please evans please
Cuz ur not a real percussionist
Anybody with a drummers ear can tell what they are playing no way in hell u should need a high tension drum to tell what they are playing
