- Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russians have been trying to gain sea superiority in order to fulfill their sick dream of capturing Odesa and then the entire coast. However, thanks to the professionalism and courage of the military sailors, all the occupier's plans came to naught. The number of Russian defeats in the Black Sea not only made this topic unrealistic, but also finally changed the course of the war at sea.
The destruction of several Russian landing ships, the liberation of Zmeinyi Island, the huge contribution of the marines during the battles for Mariupol are all merits of the Ukrainian Navy, but probably the most famous success is the sinking of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser "Moskva", which put an end to the Russians' attempts to land on the Ukrainian coast, and now they won't come any closer to it.
