It is a shame that Roman was so weirdly pushed and recieved for so long. It is evident that he can deliver but for whatever reason he was not framed right and nothing makes something uncool faster than trying to make it cool.
It's just one piece out of a mountain of evidence that wwe have great talent that can get over if given some decent booking and creative freedom, but repeatedly manage to ruin the chances of such things from happening. It's a bloated corporation trying to do a job that takes 1-3 people (booking).

as far as I know both the Undetaker and Shawn have said that the "threat" was blown out of proportion...the whole taping his fists in preperation to beat him up in case Shawn doesn't do the job was, to paraphrase what I remember Mark's words were, "Not true at all. But a good story, let's leave it at that."
He said he was afraid Shawn may do something stupid, but there was no direct threat or preperation for what he'd do if HBK wouldn't do the job...after all it was only speculation

To be fair, telling stars to go easy on RAW and save themselves for PPV's is a good idea, as it will make the matches at the PPV special and (back in the day) that was where the WWE made their money.

And as for the Shayna/Natalya "It's only Raw" thing. THAT IS WHAT A SMART RUN COMPANY DOES. You use TV to build up to the big PPV match where you go all out. You save much of your shit for the PPV. The whole "Get My Shit In" mentality in every single match is what has gone a long way to ruining the business today because there is nothing special left for the big match when you're doing everything in your repertoire in literally every single match you have.
That's why this "smart run company" has the lowest ratings in decades!

I'm not a CM Punk fan boy or anything so don't come for me. But I believe Punk about the WWE wanting him to work through his injuries like that. Other wrestlers have shared stories about how Vince puts the business before everything else so I could see him not caring about Punks well-being. Maybe Vince didn't believe him, or maybe he just flatout didn't café. Whatever happened the WWE seems to be a toxic environment at times and something pushed Punk to leave. Look at how happy he appears to be in AEW. So again, I could see Vince doing that

Roman was very Limited back then he didn't have the Indy Expierience that Ambrose and Rollins did at the time so yeah it made sense just like I'm sure people was told to make Batista, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar look Strong in the Beginning of their Careers or Nowadays Damien Priest or Omos even Bianca look Strong, that's Anybody that's Limited that the WWE are pushing so they don't look so Limited.
Sorry some guys need more time than others to hone their Craft, you act like your Favorites didn't suck when they first started wrestling and people wasn't told to make them "Look Strong" and getting a Big Push

I don't get why violent threats are the go to if a talent isn't playing ball. Just threaten legal action. Just tell the talent "We've beaten the US Government, and we can beat you." most will fear monetary repercussions more so than a one time beating. Bruises heal. Being forced to pay the company money, or lose any of your owed money, can hurt a lot more and be unrecoverable depending on the amount. You'd think a company great at making BS contracts could make a contract that allows them to sue the pants off any talent that goes into business for themselves. Though that may not even be needed since it isn't hard to argue damage to the companies reputation, perception etc.

He's certainly above average but he's not as good as truly exceptional wrestlers like AJ Styles. I guess it depends on how one wants to define "exceptional"
