@@realcartoongirl well not in every way, you forgot about the a15 chip, but yeah the a53 is a way better phone unless you’re like serious mobile gamer.
@@realcartoongirl lol true
@@realcartoongirl I'm an Android user and I've used a budget tablet from both Apple and Samsung that cost around the same price, and Apple is just better. For the price, whether it's an IPad or IPhone, you are getting flagship specs and top of the line software. The IPhone SE might have an LCD Screen, but like Ken explained it's a better and sharper screen. Also it has Flagship Performance and Camera Quality.
I am 72 years old and just traded in my iPhone 8 for the new SE. I’m very pleased with it. I like the push button, size and increased battery life. I think it is a great phone for seniors. Price is so much lower than the top iPhones!
you old jeje
It will easily last you another five years as well
We did the same. A 13 in an 8 body. What’s not to like and at a lower price.
@@Garrettdx1988 well said
u must remember landlines, cuz those existed back in your day
Finally, someone that understands the purpose of the SE line! Loved the video Ken!
Thanks for speaking out on how the design for this phone is still relevant on 2022! Some people like me, we don’t really care about having the latest design. We just want something that works. For me, I bought the SE2020 because I was in dire need of a new phone. I play games on my phone, and ofc the battery dies out very quickly, but other than that, it has been very impressive! Two years flew by like a blink. This is such a great review, thanks!
Agreed and similar - got the SE3 earlier on today, but only because I lost my original SE. Not particularly happy about the circumstances, but nonetheless barring battery life, that phone worked well enough for me to be satisfied with it even until before it went missing :/
I am 80 years old dude. I consider 1990's Nokia devices way better than iphone. I charge those once a week
and the only one that remains cheap ....
Ong people be dick munchin for new phones
Omg a tech video that doesn't crap all over the SE 😲 So many reviews take points off b/c it doesn't have face ID, OLED, no bezels, etc but that is exactly why most people buy an SE. All y'all who want face ID and new design have plenty of options, the SE is for the rest of us. I have the SE 2 now and just ordered the SE 3 for 5g & bigger battery and I'm super excited to get it. OLED phones give me headaches and nausea, face ID has just never worked well for me either so I'm really happy Apple still makes a good touch ID phone with LCD.
Finally someone that understands consumers and isn't the typical techtuber claiming that "nobody wants this".
The reason why I bought the SE model is due to the fingerprint. I honestly HATE the faceID, it never works when I'm wearing the face mask even after the last update, and it fails most of the time even when I'm not wearing the mask and I need to enter manually the PIN. The worst part is when it works, and you still need to swipe up to unlock the phone.... it's so inconvenient. With the fingerprint, you press the button and that's it.
Same here ... I bought the SE because of TouchID.
I'm not a heavy phone user and I couldn't care less about the camera so this model is perfect for me. And it's small and cheap ... win win!
So it doesn't look trendy, who cares it's a utility device not a freakin' fashion statement.
A
true mine started not recognizing me
Idk… it always works for me. Did you have a FaceID iPhone earlier?
Huh, my mom's iphone always works..
Not an Iphone user, but budget devices that make it easier for people to get connected is always a win in my book.
As someone who uses an iphone 7, this looks like the perfect replacement. If I got the 13, I'd definitely miss the fingerprint scanner and the slim size
relatable
As a fellow iPhone 7 user, I concur
I Sold my iphone 12 and bought a SE again. More better for my shit.
@@albundy9602 have a 13 pro, bought the se3 and sticking with se 3.
@@martinvillanueva2071 Why, guys?
This is a great channel and love how laid back Ken is wen he is talking. He’s like the grownup of the group. He gives great reviews that hits on good and bad of products. Something many reviewers tend to have lost. Thy want the latest and greatest with all the bells and whistles. They forget about the people who wants just a good cheap phone that will work well for years to come. I have a 12 pro max and only because I am a fairly large person and have issues pressing stuff on such a small screen. Plus have a hard time reading off a small screen. If wasn’t for that I’d prob look at the se phones.
Keep up the good work and your set looks great. Hope your channel grows fast.
Finally someone with actual logic looking at the iphone SE the way it should be looked at. A $400 phone that punches waaaaay above it's price and competes in some aspects with phones double triple it's price. All I see is these dumb CZcamsrs comparing it with 900-$1300 phones like "this $400 phone has massive bezzels, while this $1200 one has a perfect AMOLED bezeless 1440p display, this $400 only has one camera, while this $1000 has 3-4 cameras!" That shit pisses me off so much lmao , this phone does everything right and is more than enough, THANK YOU, ken
100% agreed. I run a mobile business and cannot believe the response the SE is getting from supposed experts on YT. People LOVE the SE and are clamoring for the new one. It is FAR more popular than Mini, yet I see techtubers begging Apple to keep the Mini. They have become disconnected from the general consumer.
Not my iphone SE
As someone who has never had an iPhone before looks like a nice wee phone. Android phones are just getting way too big and too expensive for me and too complicated. This looks like it does the basics right and years and years of updates make it very appealing
but what about $400 android phones? that's my real issue with the SE. take the Motorola G100 for example. when you look at phones like that, it shows the SE should have been better
@@dexthegamer3234 a phone with a processor more than 2 generations old and that won't be supported for more than 1 or 2 years, from a company barely still in existence doesn't spark interest for the general consumer compared to a phone with the latest processor that is going to be supported for YEARS to come from one of the two most successful mobile brands in history.
Upgraded from SE 2 to SE 3. I'm very satisfied, especially with the battery performance.
I went from the original SE to the SE 2022. I’m happy I still have the button interface.
Is it a huge difference? I find my se2 is horrible in standby.

I really enjoy the direction that Denki is going towards as it reminds me of those older Austin Evans vids(particularly that iPhone X vid) which I really enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, I love mystery tech and broke vs pro but Ken is bringing back a more polished if I had say style of vid which I really find to be enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
Agreed. Even the fast pace and incredible amount of information on screen reminds me of that
This is becoming o e of my favourite channels because of it!
I think that’s kind of the point
Not me searching for the iPhone X video at Austin Evans
If don’t like how he tries to sound exactly like Austin. Almost like he’s doing an impression.
THank you for more content. Keep it up. Like to see you take on the less expensive but good tech we never hear about in the States. Tech Spurt often does but many aren't availble nor compatable here in the States.
I definitely want to cover tech like that here and there, it's always a challenge seeing this stuff outside my lens. There are so many obscure phones to talk about out of Asia and India, but appropriately doing the devices justice while making interesting to my American audience will always be a hurdle.
Will definitely keep an eye out for cool stuff!
im lovin this channel its great because you just get all the info not side-tracked
Awesome I’m glad you made a channel ken can’t wait to keep watching!
This channel is quickly becoming one of my favourite CZcams channels
I own the 2020 iPhone SE and it’s covers all my needs. Including heavy gaming, videos and scrolling on social media. Besides the buttery of course. I’m looking forward to upgrade to the higher storage option.
You hit it on the head. I traded my 11 Pro Max in for a 13 Pro Max and was largely underwhelmed. The body was uncomfortable to hold and the cameras weren't as big of an improvement as I expected. I'm a casual shooter, so I hardly ever use anything besides the standard lens. ProMotion was sick, but it wasn't enough to justify $1400. I returned it and got a 128GB SE. So far, after adjusting to the bezels and overall smaller size, I've been loving it. Extremely small and lightweight (even with a case), performance has been blazing, battery life is acceptable if not exemplary, and the software trickery at play with the cameras yields a larger improvement over the 2020 SE than many would think.
Just keep your old phone?
@@jackal2604 he said he traded it?
Acceptable what does it mean in your case? If i wake up at 8 and have to charge the phone at 13 it means that the battery life is 🗑️ trash
Awesome! Denki is easily one of the channels I could listen to all day! I love the content, the editing work is great and, Ken, your voice is (chefs kiss) the exact vibe needed for these videos… love it man looking forward to the next one!
I agree completely
Good work. Thorough. To the point. Full of information. 👌👌👌
SE 2022 is my first iPhone. I was on a budget and I really wanted to try IOS and 5G.
My previous phone was a Motorola with 4 cameras and I really didn’t know how to use them 😅. This android phone started lagging and malfunctioning after a year and half. I have been told iPhone last longer.
So far I’m very happy with my SE. It’s pretty fast and I can take beautiful pictures with its single camera. Battery also last a day.
(I’m not a native speaker of English)
Ohhh yes another Denki video...awesome as always Mr Ken🙌🏻🔥
I had no idea you had your own channel.
Very clear explanations , nice video overall.
great video for someone looking for an iPhone as a secondary phone! looking forward to more!
Finally more Spotlight on Ken Love the new channel bud
The design reminds me so much of the old iphones! I never owned my own iphone but i can remember hanging out with my friends using their dads iphone. Love the button and the single camera. The design may not look as good as an iphone 13 or 14 but im still considering getting it
Your channel slaps! love the color, the edits, the audio.. new subscriber. Keep up the great work!
I have been using the 2016 SE until today it finally gave out on me. For me this is a HUGE step up hahah and I love it. Great video!
Apple is killing it! Great classic phone and not $1000. I think this will be the last SE in this body.
waiting for my upgrade in the mail! Going from the iPhone SE 2016 to the SE 2022 it's going to be sweeet!!
I just bought the new SE 2022.
What I like most is it is exactly the same fundamentally as my old iPhone 7 so there is absolutely no learning of new things.
Additionally, I do not want face ID and prefer touch ID which doesn't exist on home button-less iPhones. I'm hoping in 5-7 years when I change phones again that Apple has brought back the home button, or at least engineered a way to use touch ID without the home button.
Had my SE 2016 up 'till last week and traded it for the new 2022 model. Latest A13 chip, well known lay out, simple home button, not to big in my pocket, the fingerprint instead of the faceID, etc. The price in the Netherlands is about € 570 for the 128 Gb model. Not to bad for me. Hope it will last another 6 years; less than a 100 bucks a year for an Iphone is perfect for me.
I just ordered mine in midnight and 128gb.. I hope the battery life improvements are all they have been made out to be. That’s the only issue I had with my 2020 SE
I’m really happy that they’ve kept the finger I’d . I’ve got the SE2 and like it a lot . I will get the 3 soon .
great review love the format
According to the spec sheet over at apple site, the newer model uses something called "Advanced LTE", which used to come with the iPhone 8, while the 2nd Gen. SE uses Gigabit-Class LTE like the newer models, even with this downgrade I'm surprised to see the newer phone having better sustained LTE performance. Your thoughts on this?
Great video, ken!
Yaay another vid i love this new chanell
I upgraded from an iPhone 6S,which lasted me 8 years. I now got the SE2022, same size and form factor as the 6S but it feels like a huge upgrade for me. I'm sure this phone will last me for a long time as well.
my mom is going to upgrad from the OG iphone 8 to this one.
she didn't like big phones and isn't great at adapting to new things so this one won't make a big difference.
even tho its actualy a big upgrade.
I would love to upgrade with this SE, especially since my current 6s is nearing its end of software support. It gets very toasty even when playing some of the lighter games.
I didn't mention it in the video, but users like yourself are also part of the target audience for the SE. There's a few peeps I know that are still holding on to their older phones for one reason or another, and this gets a lot of the newer toys to tide you over from the flagship iPhones.

hi kennnnnn, keep up the good work man!!!!!!
Man I can't get over the aesthetics of the set and props. All are amazing
Very happy to find u again
Your review is right on. I didn't want a huge replacement phone with an exotic camera. And I didn't want a $1,000 price tag. Plus, I got a $100 trade-in on my iPhone 6s.
I was excited about the new se 2020 because I was looking for a replacement for my old phone. In my area, I picked up the 2020 model for 100$! there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that even touches it in that price range. I am not an avid phone gamer so my battery does last a bit longer, but yes the battery is quite tiny. I would either buy a battery case (sacrificing practicality) or have a charge in your pocket (general annoyance). Be this new SE as it may, but it is a strong contender in the low end-budget area.
I've finally replaced my very old Droid Turbo after maybe 8 years. Last year I looked into the 11 Pro Max and wanted a black Friday deal and that never happened. So Monday the 11th of April I received my SE 256gb., I got the 256 SE (Still in the box) so I can transfer my music to my new phone. Hopefully my screen protector and case will arrive by the weekend so I can unbox my new SE.
Great video and refreshing to hear someone talk about it for what it is rather than what it isn’t. I have the 2020 version and it’s probably the longest I have kept a phone, it just works.
Im also use iPhone SE 2020 and very happy! Yes this iphone is a small but looks like real iphone , with a button, with a finger scan. I love it ❤
How’s the battery life on yours? I get through maybe half a day at this point on mine (bought in 2020).
@@MrBones105 battery for a half day
The best review on the New iSE, honest and objective, definitely, I’m upgrading to this little beast!
I had an OG iPhone SE (2016) so the SE3 (2022) is a definite step up. I don’t need anything more powerful and I’m not ever going to film a movie on my iPhone lol. So it’s just what I need. Great video 👍🏼
Was basically forced into that upgrade today - was actually satisfied with the SE (barring its battery life, which is to be expected after over 5 years of use) but it went missing earlier on today 😭
I’m mostly bummed out that I couldn’t have cleared it out properly, but needed to get a replacement, and got the SE3 (which I’m typing this on!)
Though I’m still hoping that SE makes its way back to me, not least because it has some ID cards in its case 😔
Size makes a difference for me. I'm used to this Moto E4 that I like very much. This seems like an interesting upgrade for me, especially for the camera. It's like a LTS Apple barebone. I just wish they added a bit extra battery life. Also like the touch ID. iOS 16 might be the cherry on top of this.
I just got one of these to replace my previous Android. Used to be an Apple user and it reminded me of my older iphones. I really like the little haptic clicks and buzzes you get with certain actions. I miss electronics being tactile and it scratches that itch. I do miss an audio jack and a slot for micro sd cards, but I’m very clever and have been adapting already. Also coming from using a phone with a quad camera, the SE’s pictures are actually a lot better even in dim light and front facing camera!
Not boring at all, I bought the iPhone 13 two months ago and hated the size and weight. I’m getting this SE 2022 for the light weight and the home button. Yes, I’m a home button guy.
I came across this video I brought the iPhone SE 2022 ,about two months ago used it for work my personal iPhone is my 13 pro in alpine green.I wind up giving the iPhone SE 22 to my second son after his XR broke at first he was hesitant to take it after, I explained the XR is outdated he changed his mind I said if you don’t care about specs features but use it to make calls and texts etc then your good 😊👍🏾its a good phone I liked it while I had it ❤️
Ah the iPhone SE the last of the Steve jobs era iPhones , love it
My most recent iPhones were the SE 1 and SE 2. I love them and will continue using them as long as they make it. Good price and last a long time.
I upgraded from a iPhone 12 pro max to the SE3 256g about 6 months ago. Couldn’t be happier. Everything the so called “experts” say is old and obsolete are the very things I love and appreciate about my new se. it’s a totally modern and very capable device.
Loving the videos!
I've just upgraded from the XS to a 13 Mini. I didn't look at an SE, either time, because of its lower specification.
Absolutely loving my 13 Mini. Strange to think that this has the same footprint as my iPhone 7. How times change.
Thanks for the content.
Nice video, keep it up!
I feel that this phone is nice for the older folk (ex. Kero-chan *wink wink*) who don't really need the latest features. Pretty sure some people still want the Touch ID button for basic menu navigation instead of swiping around edges.
Great and honest review. Not everyone wants to spend 1000 dollars plus on a phone. Talk, text, and email is mostly important to some like myself.
i have the iphone se 2020.. got it for $250 at walmart and have owned it outright since.. my parents liked it so much they each got one too and went with the payment option and it added $8 each to their bill for 2 years.. i'm perfectly happy with it, it makes calls, it does texts, i can look stuff up occasionally.. we've gotten to the point where boring is pretty damn good
Great video very informative
i just got myself an iphone se 2020 and i'm amazed by how fluent some things are even though it's a 60 hertz display.
some things definitely move way faster than that.

This was the best explanation
I’m trying to decide if I want to upgrade my se 2020
I totally agree with you on everything you say about it. I am a user of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, it is an excellent work tool for me. I'm a publicist. I work and live surrounded by Apple devices. But if it wasn't and I didn't use my phone as a work tool, just for normal use, I wouldn't have any qualms about having an iPhone SE 3. Because it would totally serve my Apple ecosystem.
Love the channel . Didn’t know you have channel or subscribed earlier

@@arpitpandit391 hello! Are U going to change se 2020 for se 2022???)
If you think about it the same iPhone chassis went from having a A8 processor to a A15 processor that’s nuts
I want a phone as small as possible while keeping a good screen. So for me it’s the SE or mini. And the Touch ID is a good selling point.
The only upgrades iPhone SE needs is a 1080p panel and night mode photography. That would make it a complete phone.
Just upgraded my iphone7 to SE3rd generation . Great size , great phone , great price .
It's so nostalgic from the old days and I want a good phone that can fit in my pocket
For the price, I wouldn't complain about the vintage iPhone 6/7/8 design on the modern SE. Apple always future proofs their hardware for 5 years or longer. The iPhone 6S is still getting software upgrades. And for those users still using the old models, eventually to a point where parts to repair them are too expensive, the new SE is a perfect option and/or transition to upgrade to a phone with a familiar design (no need to tamper with muscle memory) with new internal guts to last long going forward.
Older accessories can be reused on the new SE. And using an LCD over OLED not only helps the SE have a longer battery life (especially now that the 2022 SE has 5G), it helps users not have to deal with pulse-width modulation.
Looking forward to getting this SE.
Got it. It’s a pocket power house!

Interesting new option but I'm very happy with my iPhone SE 2020.
Yeah me too.
Me too
My one needs the battery replacing, can’t hold a charge. Don’t do gaming or anything heavy 😞
My first iPhone is SE gen 2022. I use all my cell phones mostly for communication not as a gaming item. My reason for this SE was the it’s price and 5G capability.
Same here. I just want a snappy phone with dual sim to replace my aging 6 plus and 6s. The 6s is still pretty good though. I could get a 13 mini, but I figured the SE will run Whatsapp, Slack etc. just as fine. Maybe I'll get an Apple Watch for the price difference.
I bought a version 2 se at wally for $100 on black friday sale and I love it. For me the migration of cell phones to semi tablets is out of control. I want a small simple phone and this fits the bill nicely.
I still have my iPhone SE 2020 as a backup towards my iPhone 14 in purple. I even still have my iPhone 8. I got bored with the home button from using an iPhone just a little bit over 8 years. Even the 3rd iPhone SE is in the same boring 3 colors. My first iPhone was a 5c in blue that I got in late July 2014. I liked the upgrades in the iPhone 14 with this one thing that I liked is a crash detection in it. I have been in a few accidents over the years. I thought it would be a good iPhone for me. The last accident was with a deer almost 6 years ago. Back then that I had an iPhone 5c at that time.
I would like to see the iPhone SE with a notchless, bezel less, punch hole display. The reason I say notchless is because I feel since the SE is the cheaper version of the iPhone lineup, it doesn't require all those sensors present in the 12s and 13s. So the phone would be 5.4 inches with a punch hole camera, 1080p display, decent battery, a14 chip inside and even 4g would do. This way the name Special Edition would mean something
Yeah. If they release that phone, I'll really consider buying it. I want to make a shift from Android to iPhone. But I can't afford flagship iPhones.
@@aniruddhsali you can buy previous iphones like the 11, in my country, I got it for $500 brand new, it still performs really well even if it's a 3-year old device, but since it has flagship performance, it performs really well even if it's dated.

We're in a time where technology in cellphones is peaking to a point to where people are bored due to lack of innovation when the reality is, excellent technology is available to all in a consumers market. In analyzing the minimalist effect of the light phone which some enjoy due to an over-saturation of technology, my realisation is the Apple knew the exact moment to go retro for technological detoxing and that the antithesis of innovation, oddly, propels humanism and allows us to take a step back and appreciate this paradigm!
I have the 2020 iPhone SE it’s still pretty nice and fast is it worth the upgrade?
