After binging these AC novels, I’ve noticed that Hastings is a hypocrite and I don’t like him at all. He is always taking an instant dislike to some guy that is 9 times out of 10 an incorrect assumption. It’s the guy that he does like that’s a bad guy or the killer. Also, all attractive young women turn his head to the point of him actually lusting after his friends wife (Affair at Styles) and another young lady at the same time in the story. His inner voice is also not nice, some of the things he thinks about Poirot are quite nasty and he’s easily offended by the fact that Poirot speaks his mind and he can’t take minor criticism like Poirot mentioning that Hastings is losing his hair, but moments before, Hastings was moaning to himself about that same fact. I don’t like him.
