- Destination Unknown by Agatha Christie | Audiobook | Rewrite Book in Simple for Learning English
A number of leading scientists disappear without a trace. There is a huge possibility of kidnapping. Probably the scientists are being blackmailed so they are hiding. Enormous concern is growing in the ranks of the international intelligence community. Only one woman has the key to this mystery. Unfortunately, Mrs. Betterton lies on the hospital bed, dying from injuries sustained in the Moroccan plane crash. At the same time, Hilary Craven is preparing to end her own life in a hotel room in Casablanca. Her husband left her and her child passed away. There is no reason to live anymore. An overdose of sleeping pills and everything will come to the end. One stranger interrupts this desperate suicide attempt. Since there is nothing more to lose, this man offers Hilary a more exciting way to die.

A completely new Agatha Christie to me, and very enjoyable. Thank you.
To be careful of 'dangerous Boris' is a lesson we can all learn.
WyrwrrĆĆrrwyrwrrwrwyrrrrrrrwywrwrwyhĆrrrejffttrenenn d
Well, unless we've killed someone, it needn't be that much if a concern. Boris is after him for a reason after all.
đđ
So true! Lol
đđ
Very prophetic! "You will own nothing but you will be happy!"
My thoughts exactly!
Ages since I read Plato's Republic, but as I recall the guardians owned no individual private property.
I don't remember if the guardians were happy, or if at least their community was designed with the purpose of them being happy .
đ
Absolutely prophetic but there will always be those in Power who will rule and still have everythingđź
Nothing
Changes.
Fabulous story! Agatha Christie was a great writer.
The narrator has a great voice and is very talented with accents.
Thank you!â€

Apparently Agatha Christie wrote this book in 1954đČ good story, great narration but scary as "This is the World we are all living in now"đź
Well perceived.
So many wonderful twists and turns
What a great find! Never read this Agatha Christie story before. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the reader brought it to life. Thank you.
"...he had found a virus with the power to destroy a whole country..." spoken at approx 1:29:42. This book published in 1954. Remarkable foresight.
I really enjoyed this audio. The content is good and the reader made it great!
It's so true the story for now and then.
I donât usually listen to Agatha Christie.her books are too long . Still I noticed this one was under 4 hours and thatâs a book done in one sitting. I am thoroughly enjoying it.đđ
I listen to the long ones to get to sleep because I can keep going back to the last bit I remember and dont have to spend time looking for another one for several nights.
Christie wrote very short books on crime. That's why they are often used by English learners! If you can't cope with such short books, Janet and John might better fit your attention span. After that series, you should try to build up to Enid Blyton!
What a treat⊠I really enjoyed the story and narration⊠THANKS
Delightful!!
Wow..the 15 minute city that is Oxford now.

I have never heard this story. It is brilliant. Thank you
Great story!!
This is excellent! WHO is the reader? She is due her credit!
Those listeners who enjoyed this will also enjoy 'The Man In The Brown Suit' and 'They came To Baghdad'.
Hope to find them on CZcams.
@@santanugmail They're both there.
Not if this reader is narrating.
They came to Baghdad is excellent.
Excellent voice, thank for this masterpiece.
I'm so excited- I thought I'd read/ listen to this a bunch of times- I thought it was one of her anthologies- I haven't even read or heard it once!!! This is a treat another " new" Agatha Christie for me-- thank you for uploading these gems !!!
Thank you, excellent reading.
I beleive, Aghata was partialy inspired by story of Mileva Maric 1st wife Ainstain. She was a Serbian scieentist. it was suspected that she was co author of the invention ..
Was just rereading this book that was given to me in 1971 in Tenerife, (I had written in the front). I found this video and finished it. I have read all my Aggies several times but have missed this one for some reason. So pleased I found it. The narrator has done a brilliant job.
Xđ great, thank you for downloading this Agatha Christie's story , big fan , glad I subscribe, good day đł
First class narrating to a superb Christie story
Thank you! Enjoyed from the very beginning till the very end!!
I love the voice reading it, sheâs good, I also enjoyed her reading â they came to Baghdad â
Wonderful! I _loved_ Victoria Jones!
Iâm sorry but her whistling teeth and hissing âsâ make her too irritating to listen to. Juliet Stevenson also narrates this book here on CZcams
Poor microphone technique. Coupled with extremely irritating over sibilance

Very nice performane and so very clear reading, Thank you
Thanks for that story. You are great person doing this stuff for us.
One of her best, very well performed. Excellent quality sound too.
Jay is absolutely hilarious!! I havenât laughed so much in a loooong time! đđ
Great story but annoying narration. There is another narrator
What an amazing story! Well done! đ đ
Agatha Christie is a master of creating a certain scene, she's heavily skilled to produce a character with full description, đđnice n worth listening story,Great job, thanks for sharing,
I really enjoyed this book, very clever.
I think this is my fave! Thanks!!
Who is this EXCELLENT reader? Where are her credits? She is HIGHLY deserving. Thanks!
Worth the time. Thank you.
I must admit this doesn't feel like a Agatha Christie book. It was enjoyable though
it is the best story I have ever listened
Tks a million. South Africa.
Towards the end when the crime is unfolding it's just jaw dropping and super exciting...đđ Enjoyed hearing the bookđ
This is an unexpected pleasure, thanks: read the book last about 30 years ago! So wonderful! Narrator?
Very nice and great narrator â€
Please please can someone NAME the woman reader/actor. She is absolutely BRILLIANT. đ

Thank you so much for this- just lately I seem to see new storries(to me!) ....its fabulous
Happy new year
I really enjoyed this
I thought that they had finally made a movie version of this book... too bad...
Thank you very much
Wonderful! Wish Kenneth Branagh would make a movie of this and some of the others rather than doing a third remake of Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient express.
Hey. It's not sure, but the next film Will be a lesser known Agatha Christie novel. It has been spoken of being set in Venecia and in the Death on the Nile film it is mentioned the Arrundel mistery, so the next novel Will be "Dumb Witness". Sorry for my English. I have written It from Spain.
@@adrians.h.8187 Ah, Emily Arundell! Yes, the one with the dog. Thank you!
@@jlb9368That one! The scene that i refer to is at the start of the movie when Poirot speaks with a potographer Who says "The Arrundel mistery, are you with the case?" I'm glad you have understand my comment
@@jlb9368 Sorry. I was wrong. It has been confirmed that the novel that is going to be adapted is Halloween Party
@@adrians.h.8187 Oh! Thatâs a good one too. But I do wish that they would take one that has not been turned into a film yet - âThey came to Baghdadâ is an excellent candidate!
Perfectly grand.
Awesome book! The Queen of Mystery!
In all seriousness, Queen Elizabeth should give the title of Dame to Agatha Christie, if she has not done so already.
Are there any Brits out there that can help a little olâSouthern Belle from Coastal Mississippi and educate me on whether she is or is not a Dame. Thank yâall
I have an idea she did! Go onto Wikipedia.
Thanks Sue, are you in USA or UK? I have always wanted a British pen pal. We do have 3 British Labradors.
@Ab Intra cute
She was made a Dame in 1971 đ
Thank you đ keep it up
such a good reader/actress. brought the story to life! thanks so much.
( so great to find a woman who is such a good reader.)
Heartily agree. AND YET WE DO NOT KNOW HER N A M E đź
I find Christie's cold war stories much less interesting and fun than her earlier mysteries. A romantic at heart she can't resist inserting a love story. The dénouement is at a very personal level - money, disappointed love or ambition in a single individual. This is true of the The Man in the Brown Suit story as well as The Big Three for instance. These themes are a better fit in malice domestic.
This was excellent. I have enjoyed ALL of Mrs. Christieâs work. I was lucky enough to see a performance of âThe Mouse Trapâ as well. Many people are only used to the Marple, Poirot and The partners in crime books. This was thoroughly enjoyable, especially the change from the usual stories. Iâve also enjoyed her books written under her pen name Mary Westmacott romantic stories. Thank you so much for this great treat! â€â€
Ah. Now I understand why I have read that more than one person wrote Christie books. This one doesnt feel anything like Christie. The pace is too fast.
Actually Christie wrote all her books, however long after her death, in 2013 Sophie Hannah did write a selection of stories under the Agatha Christie name with permission from the family đ€
I like this reader
Nice voice, good pacing, audio quality fine! Haha, 1:27:40- cigarette case made of lead... Peters must have a death wish!
Nice little twist at the end.
Good job. I'm learning English . Can you share the transcrip
Any chance of you doing 'Death comes at the End' by Agatha Christie please

That would be amazing! One of my favourites! đ

I thought maybe too
Is this abridged?
Yes. The original version is detailed and much longer. This version feels rushed
Don't care 4 the voices this narrator makes......she would be better off just reading the narrative in her own voice.
Great book but irritating narrater. She needs to get her teeth sorted. I cannot listen to whistling teeth.. she cannot do the voices at all well. Listen to the wonderful Juliet Stephenson. No whistling teeth.
Sorry, I disagree
I can't hear any whistle, maybe it's your speakers. I think her voice is fine.
