I’m normally very wary of video game into board game adaptations, but as a huge MGS fan this is tempting. All the art, good designer, the ability to use Grey Fox, $100 price tag, and this boss fight seemed pretty fun and understandable.
Right? It's simple but challenging. Great design.

The boss cards staying in the same order is such a smart and simple idea. Love that. I hope the preorders stay open for a few months because I wanna get this badly!!
CMON'S Bloodborne game uses a similar system and it worked really well in that.

Edit: Now I'm really curious how they translated the Psycho Mantis fight into board game format. 🤔. "So... You've played Settlers of Catan?". Do the players roll each other's dice instead to simulate swapping to the other controller port?
It'll be an interesting one. I remember reading that Emerson had a Psycho Mantis dice game planned before IDW rolled up their tabletop division and smoked it. If this game does well, maybe we'll see that as a stand-alone?

Too bad Zee or Tom didn’t go on a little spiel about the thrill of reloading…or that a revolver has 6 rounds…more than enough to kill anything that moves.
I love reloading during a battle. There's nothing better than the feeling of a bullet being slammed into a well greased chamber. Alright. I'm alive again. Let's go!

Very excited for this! Looking forward to reliving the Shadow Moses campaign. I’m betting the Sniper Wolf showdown will be fun.
If Ocelot is moving "away" it should be actually away, not past the players figure. Not a huge difference in result but grating every time.

I like the theme and the implementation looks pretty good. That being said it kind of feels like a watered down Earth Under Siege: Flashpoint. I already backed that campaign so I think I will pass.
Probably a bit late, but. If the Rex model only come with pre orders, how does the boss fight work without the model? Do they just give you a token?
You know what I find disappointing with this version versus the cancelled version? The tank boss battle is completely missing from this version. The cancelled versio even had a tank figure. After finishing this video I'm glad they're still designing and playtesting the game before release because I feel like with this video, 20 hitpoints for ocelot is rather difficult given the low number of hitpoints for the players. Not sure if that's intended. I can understand if it's challenging but I wasn't expecting it to be dark souls level. I'm still buying this game regardless
You can do VR missions to unlock tools to use in the campaign. So probably body armor, different weapons maybe. Looks like a lot of replay value
@@LoftOfTheUniverse I read that in the rulebook. It's nice they added vr missions if you wanted quick games without going through the whole campaign. I'm curious as to how they plan on making it so that you can't use items until you complete the vr mission for them
@@armageddon_gaming probably extra stuff that might not have been in the game or stuff you'd unlock later? Not sure. The problem is putting too much stuff in VR versus making the items not that helpful. Neither is good but I'd rather the former.

They have a preorder up but this will not be a Kickstarter project. Just preorder and go.
Why boxes upon boxes?
Those tokens really should be nice plastic tokens and not those tiny shabby cardboard tokens. They are used so much the should feel tactile and nice
