Maja Demitra gets emotional about late husband's Hall of Fame induction

- Keith Tkachuk and his wife, Chantal, inform Maja Demitra that her late husband, Pavol, will be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in January 2024.

This is coming from an Avalanche fan. But I’m also a hockey fan. I’m very happy you guys did this for Pavol! Makes me feel good for his wife and kids and all of his fans. Way to go Blues. Much love from Avalanche country.
Same here. I’m a Blues fan but also a hockey fan. Love how teams are starting their own Hall of Fame’s! This sport is rich with history and I hope other teams have their own Hall of Fame’s soon. RIP Pavol. Let’s Go Blues!
The Avs did lose a couple guys from that same crash that took Pavol… Ruslan Salei ( sp?) and Kārlis Skrastiņš come to mind. RIP all Lokomotiv players and coaches.
As a hockey fan from Arizona I'm happy Dallas Stars inducted Karlis into their hall of Fame, he was an instant fan favorite, and I'm hoping the Avalanche team organization will induct both Karlis, and Ruslan into their Hall of Fame. Your home team is my favorite. Much respect
That is so cool that Keith Tkachuk and Pavol Demitra are going to be inducted at the same time. One of the few good things that Mike Keenan did in St. Louis was getting Demitra from Ottawa for Christer Olsson. That deal worked out great for the Blues. I knew how much Tkachuk thought about Demitra when he wore a Demitra jersey at the Alumni Game at the 2017 Winter Classic for a period. Very well deserved for both of them. I loved Maja Demitra's look of genuine surprise by the news.

I have a signed pic of Pav on my wall and always wore his number. A huge Blues fan living in the little Welsh village of Llanystumdwy. He is always my favourite. Still so missed. 😢

The move I always associate with Pavol was him faking out the goalie by heading behind the offensive net, but instead of carrying the puck with him, he'd put it back out in front for a perfect open net tap-in.
I remember that too. It was awesome! It was usually big Walt burying that play. I remember the first time they did it. So cool other fans remember those things like that
I totally remember that too! I was watching a game with my dad and wondered a loud “how come nobody fakes like they’re doing a wraparound but then drop passes it to an open man?” My dad’s reply: “probably because nobody can do it!”. A few games later Pavs pulled it off and they scored and my dad and I jumped up and hugged 😂
📯💙📯💙📯Tkachuk wore Demitra's #38 jersey for a couple of shifts at the Winter Classic Alumni game in St Louis in 2016 as a tribute! A class guy and a class organization!
Pavol was so underrated in his time. So glad he's getting into the HOF. Much deserved. Frankly both need in the big HOF as well.

Calm down Keeler. Keith Tkachuk's is referred to as Walt or Big Walt a nickname given to him by his former Winnipeg teammate Eddie Olczyk because his surname was so similar to that of former Ranger Walter Tkaczuk. Is that ok with you?
