It's not. It works because it gives you all the stats you need on Ahri, so it's not even a playstyle difference.

One of the famous quotes from Hashinshin is, "A dead is a useless ". This is why Shurelya is good first buy on Ahri. Same thing I do with Jhin as well.

No. But we'll have to see the exact nerf in game.
I got a question about shurelyas and an alternative
So i checked the stats and you get 55 ap; 15 ability haste; 8% ms; 125% base mana regen (i think its whatever) and the active for 2200g
But on the other hand when i compare it with cosmic drive you get 100 ap; 30 ability haste; 5%MS and the passive for 3000g.
So my question: Why shurelyas and not cosmic?
You pay almost 50% more but you get almost 100% more stats.
Im not considering passive and active here cuz im not sure how i can compare them in a fair way.
ofc the ms from shurelyas is worth more if you have a perfect scenario but i would say cosmic is more consistent with its passive ms buff.
Whats your thoughts about it?
Cosmic drive is overall a strong item, shurelyas gives you an instant spike for 800 less gold which could turn the fight earlier and snowball faster. It also grants mana which cosmic drive doesn't give so even if you're spamming abilities, you don't have the mana for it if you run lichbane first.
Is lichebane good if u dont land any auto ?
No. But if playing Ahri correctly you will land autos in between abilities. Ahri typically jumps in and out multiple times during combat, giving multiple opportunities to land autos.
Heyy I am an Ahri main too, just one quick question. So you tend to go ludens for the stats over malignence right? More burst + you dont need to rely on ult?
On the other part, isn't malignence ult cdr reduction + mr refuction to enemies good for Ahri?
The thing I also could think of, is that you take ludens for faster fights and malignence is more for longer fights right
Malignence for more of a utility play style (r-e gameplay) or ludens for more of an assassin play style
I'm an Ahri main too. I've experimented alot with both, and I don't feel like malignance can compete with luden's companion. Yes malignance gives you your ult more often and gives mr reduction upon hit, but luden's gives you an extra kick on all of your abilities. Luden's is far superior for general poke, and for farming/pushing waves. It seems to even be on par with malignance when you use your ult to chase/finish of an enemy.
So the only real benefit of malignance seems to be having ult more often. But honestly, with ludens, some ability haste/blue buff ocasionally, ultimate hunter rune and a good management of ult cooldowns you should be just as fine without.
There are other champions who I think benefit far more from malignance, like Fiddlesticks.
