Chiptune music is also a lot more creative than most video game music today

This is the kind of genre that just doesn't emit any kind of negativity at all. It's nostalgic, uplifting, and can only bring out the best of moods for the listener.

There's tons on anime music like that too. It helped a lot in overcoming when I was struggling with a 15 yr bout of depression back in the day. I struggle to put into words how these chiptunes make me feel. You're an excellent curator. I feel like you should run a late night radio station that only musical super-nerds listen to.
It's always hard to put certain feelings into words, especially when you feel it needs to be explained in deep detail to even hope of getting the point across to the person or persons, simply so they can feel what you do.
But this stuff makes me feel nostalgic as hell for stuff like golden sun or pokemon mystery dungeon, donkey kong country, older zeldas like LTTP or the oracle series, or shovel knight (even though that one is way newer)

It the adventure and action and immersion and story like you have a whole world to explore at your fingers!! You get sucked in and you become the hero!!!

@@randomcookie2706Likely has heard it before, without realizing it is actually a genre now. Back in the day it used to be the way music was made for games (more chiptune, less sampling obviously), so I would not blame someone who did not play games back then OR is younger to not recognize this as a stylistic choice in some cases as well and as such a "genre".
Seeing this video in my subscription feed was like opening the mailbox and finding a letter from an old friend. I nearly cried when I pressed play and heard the first few strains of the music begin. Then I smiled and rocked out.
There are so many wonderful artists whose work I only know because you make and share these compilations. I’ll always be grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
For some reason, I kinda wish this kind of music will have its permanent stay in a future sci-fi world (if we ever gonna reach there).

Honestly, this genre is so retro and yet it sounds like it would fit in perfectly in a scifi world. This is something I can imagine myself listening to while walking through a dark narrow alleyway between 2 massive skyscrapers, lit up by neon lights
I just wanna comment on "if we ever gonna reach there" the fact that we currently have technology that people in even (for example) the Renaissance implies that we have, in fact reached there, and unless some mass extinction event (like your message may imply) we'll continue going "there" until we run out of new things to invent (if such a thing is possible) a "future sci-fi world" is too vague to really have any meaning.
we will. when i was born the internet didnt exist. since then almost every single tech from sci fi has become reality. robot? yep. cyborgs? fuck yeah. ai? yup. SONIC RESONANT LEVITATION? yup. INVISIBILTY TECH. yup. clothes that hide you from cameras, lasers, lightsabers all exist. were there just a bit farther to go now and its the beginning of the space age. hell a dude in japan even built a fucking gundam. A GUNDAM!
Never heard of this genre before, I love it!
Its Music that had to fit in a tiny space, simple instruments created, a unique style, putting voice in there is a bit incorrect.

Chiptune always reminds me of cracking games and software and learning to code my own games in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Already had me at the start. Easy Action, Distortia, and Destination Luna 4 are my favorites from She.
By the *GODS* this is amazing! Bringing me back to my childhood.
Now this is the kind of music we need in life. It's very cheerful and upbeat and it just makes me feel... colorful. It cheers me up and it lifts up my mood by a lot!

You should definitely look into Savant, I grew up with him and his 8bit/chip tune sound is unmatched to anyone in the edm scene
I love the 8-bit age games, and their music, but i've never listen to Chiptune, and it's amazing! The notes bring a feeling of energy and happiness. Loved it!

The thing with she is that all of her albums sound like the same.
Maybe with the exception of electric girl, which I consider quite unique.
It's a great artist, yes, but honestly I consider It's not something for everyone.
@@TalasDS Personally, I find she's style and sound really unique compared to a lot of other artists. I've struggled to find anyone else who sounds quite the same, so I'm glad that she has a lot of songs to listen to in that style.

@@KuroKitten You're just objectively wrong. Her stuff is all very much the same musically, with a small handful of standouts like Cesar stand.
@@networknomad5600 I never said otherwise... What I said, was that I found she's style of music unique when compared to a lot of *other* artists. I happen to like how she sounds quite a lot, and I haven't found another artist who replicates that same feel.
So to me, it's a great thing that she's portfolio has so much music in that same style, because I don't really know anywhere else I can go to get that. If you happen to know any other artists that sound similar to she, though, please let me know! I'd love to check them out =)

you know one of the best things about chiptune??? if you feel like being just a little more energetic you can boost the speed and it doesn't sound like trash it just gets more hype XD at 1.5x speed is where i like it

You know, I saw this, and went in the opposite direction. 0.5 was too much, but 0.75 was a good chill pace for something to relax to without sounding strangely distorted. Thanks for the idea!

most of these make me feel like I'm in a older adventure game and I love it.
Every time i hear one of these best of compilations i cant help but feel like we have very similar tastes in music. Makes me excited seeing them pop up in my recommended every time. And id totally listen to a radio station that played these kind of tracks. Hell if i had to work on it to get it made i would. XD

OMG I love it! The optical scene also totally helps with that pleasant sensation I tend to get from this sort of music. Actually only Turrican and Gianna Sisters gave me these vibes. Until now.

As an old Gamer. I miss the Halsion days of yor when gamers were not even surrounded hy the negativity of Modern gaming but enjoying those sweet chip tunes of games and basking the depth of work and artistry be them Geek or Jock all rocked down to familiar chip tunes and appreciated more than ever how gamee brought us together. I miss that.
Modern games are expensive to make yet feel so cheap. Despite the limitations of the first consoles, developers used every last drop of creativity to squeeze out memorable games and fire soundtracks
