      @fromthestretfordend7110: If the noise from Man Utd sources, Ineos and the press is to be believed, then there's every chance to expect a massive clearout. I think there'll be a clearout. The issue is that, is it practical and wise to buy a whole squad in one transfer window!? Since, frankly, maybe only 4 or 5 players are Man Utd standard and are considered safe in the entire squad. Is it even doable with the current club finance situation? I guess some player sales will offset the cost of bringing in new faces, if done effectively. We're all aware of the club's poor reputation in recouping decent amounts for unwanted players though this may likely improve under Ineos. These are the big questions that have to be dealt with.

    Most of the players have mentally checked out already in this team. Several players looked like they have given up already and waiting to be sold. We need a massive overhaul of the squad in the summer. We could literally sell 15 players and need another 13 or so players to even have a chance.

  • @JoeBob79569
    @JoeBob79569 Pƙed 28 dny +24

    I don't even care how many injuries we have, I think the simple fact is that the players looked absolutely lost.
    All their passing looked awkward, passing to marked players, standing waiting for the ball to come to them, or having to change direction to pick-up a pass, with players constantly out of position,like having 2- 3 players standing there watching a teammate running past them with the ball, and having no clue what to do with themselves.
    A lot of the stuff like poor passes is of course down to the players, but the manager should have a way of play drilled into them, like the players should not be standing there looking like they have no clue where to run or what to do with the ball.
    They had what, 9 days to prepare for this game? And it looked like United just grabbed 11 randomers from the street and gave them a shirt. Whatever is going on in training I think it's very unlikely that they were working on patterns of play for the last 8-9 days. If you told me they were all in Amsterdam on mushrooms and weed I'd believe it.

      It's been like that all along. Injuries are no excuses by ETH. Newcastle have injuries as well like other teams but they still put on a fine display uklike these deadwoods we have. How long are they going to put up with this shamble?

    • @timmyl9121
      @timmyl9121 Pƙed 27 dny

      I'd agree but injuries are easier dealt with if you've already built a fortress ,taking away pieces of a jigsaw that has no complete image is impossible, I will say one thing against ten tho ,why wouldn't you just play for a draw when presenting a depleted side ....but then our strength is not defending so its an impossible conundrum, if Eric thinks he's the man I beleive him,crazy as that sounds,the rotten core is in the the process of repair so let's beleive in that! @JoeBob79569 Pƙed 27 dny +1

      @@timmyl9121 Yea, but as an outsider, like all of us, it's hard to know what the real story is..
      Like is ETH pushing the players too hard?
      Are the players lazy and/or just faking injuries?
      Are they actually working on tactics or just running and doing rondos for 3 hours every day?
      Do the players not understand what the manager wants them to do, or do they intentionally refuse to do it, or pretend they don't know what he means? Or are they just incapable of doing what he wants?
      Or is ETH stubborn, and refusing to adapt to the players?
      Or is he adapting to them too much, to the extent that the tactics have to completely change when even one player is missing?
      To me it seems like nothing has really changed in years, the players look clueless (except when they play well for 20 minutes every so often), and like the wingers are constantly swapping sides, midfielders swapping positions, defenders not watching the runners, full backs tucking in too much, etc.
      If you told me Ole was still in charge I'd believe it, because when things go wrong the players fumble about exactly like they did 3 years ago..

He brought in a bunch of players that he knew already and only one of them has done well, and of course he has been injured most of the time. He should be sacked just for signing the spinner alone. Paying almost 4x the amount a player is worth and having a company he is involved with benefit from it, how is that acceptable? And it's not like he has been able to develop players. Garnacho hasn't improved, and he has probably harmed Mainoo's development.

    The available options for new manager, in my opinion are:
    1) unproven/more experienced at the top level, but would want to buy loads of players to play they way they want
    2) Managers who could get more out of the current squad, which has a lot of players in it that we don't want to stay at Utd
    ETH staying allows the structure above to get in place, time to assess the squad needs and find the players to bring in for 2025.

      3. The players are on contracts with high wages. They go only if they want to go. And - as we have seen in the past - many prefer to let their contracts run down and then move on a free. So, you can jump up and down and stamp your little feet all you want, but wholesale clear-out will not be as easy you seem to think. Lol.
      4. But here’s the deal. You could buy prime Messi and Ronaldo and top defenders and midfielders but the team would still struggle with this manager.

Never before in their history have United conceded 7 goals in 45 minutes without reply, while their manager stood mute on the sidelines.

      Getting rid of most of these players will be hard but it has to be done they are not good enough and if ten hag goes they have to go as well.
      Btw the unbeaten run is a very skewed statistic if anything it only proves these players cannot perform under pressure because as soon as the crowds came back bam the streak had been lost. And if that streak proved how good they were why didn’t they win the league then? These are the standards we should be setting
      Although tuchel is realistic and viable I don’t see how he is a major step up from eth, he struggled to win the league with Bayern and although done well in cup competitions which we won’t be able to provide him since we are not in Europe I just don’t see the big point in switching now. But I’ll be honest he is the most realistic and viable option because he is a good coach but if he did come I wouldn’t be surprised if in a year and a half u are already calling for his head. The simple fact of the matter is that managers need time to implement ideas and clear deadwood, the issue in switching manager is also bad for the team as both philosophy of the way ten hag and tuchel see the game is completely different, tuchel will have to replace all the players or pieces in the team again and start again which would not be good. Despite our many injuries, recurring defensive errors and midfield gaps persist game after game. Different players in the same position making the same mistakes must be attributed to the manager. He continues to break unwanted record after unwanted record. Some of you may still have reasons to support him, but this is my opinion and I believe he's not up to the mark.

      I kinda disagree ngl, when there’s that much space in behind because the line is so deep it’s going to look like he’s getting exposed all the time. And that’s for any midfielder you put in there. But i think mainoo tackling ability is exceptional, the way he goes for the ball and closes ppl down is very clever in those 1 on 1 duels he covers a lot of ground and ends up winning the ball and his stockiness in his physical ability is rlly good. And he’s pretty ok in the air for someone his height. Of the ball I think he’s class as well it’s just this system is so bad and so difunxtional it looks awful on him, like no midfielder would be able to track back the yards he would have, I would argue u out valverde and Jude there and they will look rlly exposed and these guys are supposed to be quick midfielders. Mainoo has decent pace but not their level. It’s just a system issue I think

    • @Zamunda-
      @Zamunda- Pƙed 28 dny +1

      Mainoo looks like he's running on sand when he gets turned. He is not a good tackler when we get transitioned.
      He is a good tackler when the game is infront if him like the first few games when he was our deepest midfielder.
      He now players further forward and struggles with tracking back. We just need someone more athletic in the midfield alongside him to make him look better.
      We will end up with another Pogba if things don't change. Maino lo can contribute at both ends of the pitch but defending is NOT a strong attribute of his. He will look even better when an effective 6 players alongside him.

Just start from scratch with the under 18's team. Otherwise just give the man a break and support him the right way, privately and publicly, it's only fair. If next season we are still at the same point then you may pull the trigger knowing he failed with substantial support.
