Over the sunset
At the edge of the atlas
I'm driving alone
When I see in the distance
A light in the dark
And when I approach it
A note on the glass
We're serving
Inside it's quiet
But the tables are shining
In blue chrome and white
With a fan on above but
No service in sight
I pick out a booth
Sliding in from the side
And then I start feeling quite tired
So I know
That I'll be here a little while
When I go
I'll get right back on the road
Let everybody come together
The world at peace as one
We could live a dream forever
It's really up to us
And if you're not sure how to start
Then open up your heart
Let the feeling grow
And soon you're sure to know
Light up light up
The whole night sky with all your love
Just say the prayer
We'll make it there
If we work hard enough
Keep on keep on
And give it everything you've got
'Cos only then
We'll reach the end
The land where we belong
So when we walk among the clouds
Hold your neighbour close
As the trumpets echo round
You don't wanna be a - Hudba
It went from animal crossing to silent hill.
pls no silent hill
😭
And then to doki doki literature club

I felt the same
...its bugsnax👁👁
Jesus, when it cut out "alone", that absolutely murdered me. Just gotta' listen to this a few thousand more times now.
James Robillard this track is so eerie in its entirety, like how it begins with nice xylophone bits but then explodes and withdraws into a poem of an event or something. very weird
I might be looking into it way too much, but my interpretation of the album is that the whole thing is a rest stop. They needed a break from their usual happy pop sound because reality hit them and you can’t always be happy. Once Sarah, Gus, and Jamie accept that negativity is a part of life, they’re able to come back to that happier sound that everyone hoped they would put into their music. This is evidenced by the explosion of synth sounds that are all reminiscent of their old sound. It makes me think that whatever they come out with next will be a more balanced blend of their old and new sound.
nah
yeah
Woah
Well you were right about the more balanced direction in the future :)
lol nope now there's civ i which is far from happy
If the key would spin, this could be a government plates video
Gubber Dude Gov Gov Bonito
Those robotic voices sound so scary... "Stop it" "Please stop" "Stop" "Let me go"
i just realized it said that, now im traumatized
rest *stop*
Wait what time in the song do they play?
@@Soup_flavouredsoup from 2:10 to 3:10
Who listens to a new album at 3 am?
*KKB releases new songs*
me: Oh boy, it's 3 am
Same here, played it with headphones and a speaker
czcams.com/video/sEx01zi1MUk/video.html
Comparing this to their older stuff like Flamingo, Picture This and Sick Beat, they've really changed a lot. Right now, I can't think of anyone else who has made such a huge jump in terms of their music. These guys are amazing.
And I'm still waiting for a Nardwuar vs Kero Kero Bonito.
Theodore Scott-Emuakpor a nardwuar interview would be awesome
gorillaz has really different music'
What I like is that even through such a change, we are back to that solid color and item(s) on the screen, reminds me of the old KKB, in a way.
You people are musically illiterate if you are saying things like "I can't think of anyone else who has made such a huge jump in terms of music" and then someone chimes in with "Gorilazz1" lol there is a whole world of music out their guys, you just haven't found it. KKB are fun to listen to, but they are not great musicians at all. They are actually pretty terrible live
@@kainoa1290 Oh... I stand corrected
4 am is the best time to listen kkb
Vicente Paredes it was 1am in San Diego when they posted this!!!!
Lmao you got me, its 3:48 and i'm going through all the uploads
4:27 am you are right
It's literally 3:13 here
any time is the best time to listen to kkb
What's wild about this track is that when you listen to it with the album on repeat and you reach the end, Sarah Bonito says "hold your neighbours close / as the trumpets echo round / you don't wanna be..."
And then the album gets back to the opening track. "Outside".
A MYSTERY IS AFOOT
Leo? Ugh you’re on a whole new level of brain activity. Can you lend me some spare brain cells? I’m all out
OH MY GOD im sh00k
You really like Rick & Morty.
I think the word that's cut off is supposed to be "alone". It's a rough rhyme with close, and makes sense given the content of the lyrics after the story about the rest stop. The lyrics in the latter half of the song are all about loving one another and spreading love. I would feel you if there was any real connection between the two songs thematically or sonically, and it's a great theory, but I don't think it holds water
this is one of the scariest songs i’ve heard in a while but i love its uniqueness
The garbled vocals and drumbeat from the ending are reused for the opening of "Well rested"
Upon further research it seems that the concept behind well rested began when kkb decided to make a song with the sped up drum sample throughout because it sounded cool. In well rested you can hear the sped up drumbeat in much of the song. I'm not sure if there are any thematic connections between the two songs.
it makes sense that they reused Rest Stop’s beat for Well Rested, as both songs make reference to armageddon in different ways
(on rest stop “as the trumpets echo round” relating to religious imagery of armageddon, and on well rested the opposite approach, “false prophets proclaim that the end is nigh”)
Back to the good Bonito aesthetic of solid colours and still images. Takes me back.
with a darker edge now!!!!
Just a minute ago I had commented about this lol, im not alone it seems!
to november
How many shrimp
The uncanny visuals created by the lyrics, jarring juxtaposition of Sarah's sweet, soft vocals and the build up before the eerie terror of the ending samples...this is a David Lynch film in song form. Masterful work!
That’s a very interesting comparison haha, I’ve never considered it that way. It does kinda sound like a strange experimentation from Angelo Badalamenti.
omg yes i see that so well!
Rest stop? More like Rest Bop
BEST BOP
@@kilic_ fuq I just said that.

I chuckled
Damn, they really be out here collaborating with the "I Feel Fantastic" robot.

(Edit) This was gonna be my new anxiety song until I heard the end of it
It's creepy af it sounds like someone getting electrocuted
She’s going with dark twists now and it’s scary. Especially when she uploads at 3 am...
Kero Kero Bonito out here with the biggest tonal and emotional shift in a single song out of the entirety of this year

TRUE
THIS ONE AND OUTSIDE >>>>
ohhh its a musical representation of anxiety
well i don’t think the voices you can hear and the footsteps really point to that, but maybe in really extreme forms of anxiety
This album is one of the best pieces of art I've ever experienced
One of the best album closers, period.
The first album made me want to live
The second album makes me want to die
Thank you for playing with my emotions KKB
This is their third album
liam casey Intro Bonito wasn't an album, but I still enjoyed it.
I love every bit of this music, but let's face it, 1:22 just basically drove my soul to next level transportation plane.
the virgin Id Rather Sleep vs the chad Rest Stop
jk i would never disrespect any stage of your musical evolution kkb
The ending is creepy af
KKB are up to something...
To add to it, I'm thinking the last line was gonna be "you don't wanna be a ghost"
@@joshsmith8066 I thought it was alone
when you listen to the album:
you don’t wanna be o---
track 1
i think the end is pretty calming by the lyrics...
its like finding peace at the endo of the world
You don't what to be a what!?!?! WHAT DON'T I WANT TO BE???????
Alone
I thought the outside thing first too, but if you check the lyrics in the description, the last line is "you don't wanna be a"
A little bitch
Yea, it's alone
outside?
Kero Kero Bonito release Only Acting 2
there's a radio edit
You don't wanna be... alone.
Isn't it "lost"? It makes sence (with how people can find themselves lost when in adulthood) and fits the rhyme too
i think its alone

this is going to be great, is like old cute KKB remixed with a more mature sound, but still keeping the creativity
Literally gives me chills when I listen to it
When this Album came out I was walking to school listening to it, and when I tell you how much I loved this album I mean it, this album is a bop from start to finish and I love every second of it. It is so unique and different from their previous music and it really was such a great leap for KKB to make. I absolutely adore this band and all of their music!!
Intro Bonito starts bright and colorful and ends on a satisfied, happy note. The last song is the vocalist (Sarah) going to sleep, knowing the world around her.
Bonito Graduation started on an energetic tone, and ends on a hopeful, satisfied tone. Sarah stays with her parents, after she leaves to find herself and mature.
Time N Place... It starts energetic, showing the wild wonder of the vivid environment around us. As Sarah sees this crashing down, from a faithful friend's death, a person loved by her getting hospitalized, being and an identity crisis, she tries to recover. Problem is, she can't. The fear and darkness instilled within her from these events creep up again, coming from these painful conflicts. This is Rest Stop, from my perspective and opinion. With the direction Time N Place took for KKB, I wonder what's happening next. It'll probably still have the theme of maturing as an individual, and maybe keep the FlCl/Death Grips/mildly electronic/mild shoegaze feel. There's definitely gonna be something that alludes to the robbery incident in San Francisco.
Well youre in for a ride, their next EP is even more interesting :)
The trash can of hopes & dreams my theory is that sarah dies in rest stop
And then happened some old bonito with neat strawberry bugs
@@user-jx1hv7es8j trying to fit bugsnax into KKB lore is fun
@@hasannaim8381easy, Sarah is just playing Bugsnax to distract from the pain
holy shit i thought yall made cheezy music
Country roads are no longer needed I found the place where I belong
TAAKE ME HOOOOOOME
TO THE PLACEEEE
fun fact: they actually end their live shows turning up the lights and playing country roads while everyone leaves. everyone sings along and its really wholesome
this song is such a good song, both in itself and as the album closer
It’s only been like 2 years and this is already so nostalgic
i like to think that the last line is "you dont wanna be found". it makes the song creepier, like something is searching for you that's making the noises at the end of the song.
Most underrated song on the album
I remember listening to this two or three years back. A good memory. Glad I could find this again.
i want my childhood back
TFW the new KKB is sleepy music
10 outta 10 review it agen
I can't go back to Bonito Intro or Bonito Generation, I'm so here for this new style! I would have liked to hear some more songs from TOTEP on the album, like The One True Path, or Cinema. I feel like Cinema 'I think I'll get dinner somewhere nice tonight' would have transitioned nicely in to Rest Stop. There are so many similar themes reappearing in this album and the previous EP, I love this album even more than Bonito Generation damn.
this song gives me nightmare! *listens to it again*
this makes me see every colour at once
so a white light?
If "Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared" was a genre of music.
I LOVE this song. The first half is so calming and nice and then it becomes this weird, noisy and kinda creepy tune. KKB are geniuses. 💜
i was about to fall asleep then i saw the notif for kkb i was like hell naw i gotta hear this
Omg the synth beatchange, breathtaking, granted the song then goes to this creepy mode, which I still enjoy. But that one beat reminds me of some old 70's jazz fusion. Awesome.
so underrated!!!!!!!!!
im early. nice way to start october 🖤
you guys know how to start a month. tysm kero kero bonito, ily
i felt like i couldnt breathe at the end lmao
i like this one
cool choices
mate are you having a conversation with yourself?

To me this is by far the creepiest song they have released, love it!
Waking up with tons of new KKB uploads is one of the best things to wake up to.
Sounds absolutely amazing with headphones, keep up the good work KKB I'm loving it!
Yo, just like every KKB song it always ends up surprising me in some way, and this was executed in an awesome way!
Good to be back lads
I LOVE IT SO MUCH
one of my favorites by kkb ever !
wow i really love this
The lyrics to me just seem like a depiction of an apocalypse dream
I love these new songs, they sound so dreamy..
This is such an interesting track! Love the feel of it all!
Tim Larsson right
I’ve been waiting all my life
How good is it to start the day (AND the month) with a new amazing KBB song??
AikoRibKismet let alone 3 of them, wait no 9 of them, wow, this is great.
Now this is a great way to start the day!!! 👍
Fairly certain that sample that kicks in at around 1:46 is Katz theme from courage the cowardly dog
i think it fits the theme that i found this album existed so late. i never knew i needed it and i kinda lost that "album just came out" feeling. KKB are legendary just cause the songs fit what they need to. childhood nativity to DEATH OF A CHILDHOOD FUCKING PET (i dont know what this song is about im too busy writing)
Always the fascinating banal images.......
God I love the way this makes me feel
love love love this album a lot! i don't really like their 2 albums before, but this album is really up to my taste!
