Imagine hearing that back in 2014 when the game wasn't full of superheavy superarmoured heavy tanks and TDs with 500mm guns with 300+ mm of pen
back in 2014 where Conquerors and M103s butcher other heavies with HEAT and accurate fire (T^T)
25% RNG on penetration is the stupidest mechanic ever put into the game...
On WoT Blitz its reduced to -+5% instead

This is what makes this tank balanced. Good premium rounds that need aim still thats how every premium round should be
Mantas - The problem is more that RNG deviance on penetration and damage is stupid for higher caliber guns. ±25% for 100mm or higher is just dumb.

Right? Of course it's going to be "abysmal" when you're comparing it to all the broken HEAT shells with well over 300mm pen that can go through pretty much any armor from across the map.

and this game showcases it perfectly, seeing how QB uses basically all this 15 premium rounds vs equal tiered tanks, all with weakspots. He didnt bounce a single premium round either. If the enemy players did the same, QB wouldve died halfway through. Pay2perform ammo.

Now if you calculate the 2/5 chance of pen for premium rounds to the 1/5 you can see that he would only receive 1 extra shot or 2 at the most making him ether survive with 100-200 hp or die near the end not half way though
This is one of my favorite underdog tanks, and actually prefer it over the tier 9(Only when facing tier 10's) because of the following:
1.) Better turret traverse speed(You can make people fluff shots if they're aiming at your hatches easier)
2.) Punchier gun an workable penetration values. If you're going to use the 120mm, although you are more accurate, you can't overmatch... and you have to make yourself vulnerable longer to get the damage you need to 3rd MoE. With the 130mm, you can at least trade damage.
3.) More premium spam protection on the upper plate, where as the tier 9 can reliably get penned with premium. You know, if they don't pen through your turret first with APCR.
The tier 9 might be my favorite tier 9 heavy... Other than the Conqueror, of course. The Conqueror line just seems so over-populated with people though.
But the conqueror is a joke...anything can pen its paper mantlet...once had a centurion 1 pen my conqueor's mantlet on the move from about 100km away, so that's when I knew it was a crap tank and then sold it as soon as I got the S. Conq

all of the tier 9 HTs are easy to pen, conq and m4 51 are no exception. You're right though, the m4 54 actually has a good ufp. People think this tank is bad because it's balanced, unlike tanks like sconq or 5a

that tank was great when i got it, but it started getting nerfs years ago and has not had any love since then. Going back down to either the T29 or T32 is way better.
@@randymotter51 how are you competetive in tier 10 matches with the T32? I understand the T29 being good but the T32 in my opinion lacks more penetration when you need it for tier 10's and some tier 9's unless all your loading is gold and praying to get good rolls on weakspots.

@@GreenRatel it's not a bad tank but the lack of penetration power compared to other tier 8's leaves it feeling underwhelming for me since for me at least I seem to get bottom tier most of the time in my tier 8 tanks. And nothing is quite as frustrating as having that T29 gun trying to pen Badgers ect
Not going to lie I think QB hates this tank....
Just for context he’s been complaining about this tank since it came out and WG habe done nothing to it.
I think the same thing, i have it , is true that he has a bad winrate but is fun to play
One thing that you should know about QB is that he doesn't like tanks that don't fit his playstyle.
Slotmech +1 I personally love this tank 3k+ damage per battle easy, but I also hate these 120mm heavys, not a fan of small caliber tier 10 heavys.

I disagree its not the wirst tier 10 its still the Is4 slow, inaccurate, same gun as the Tier 9 only what you get more is 20mm side armor and for that you need 200k exp. I Wonder if they wipe it under the carpet or really do their promise thst they gonna buff the Is4 whst they wanted already to Do läßt year.
And after that comes for me t57 heavy, complete weak turret, aswell inaccurate and slow like hell.

yea note how QB didnt bounce a single premium round. If the enemy had the same mindset as QB (goldspam) he wouldve died halfway through. Pay2perform and pad stats ammo.

I mean Foch loves this tank, he has 500+ damage in it on QB with no prem rounds or food so... to each his own. Someone appreciates that 560 > 400, somebody prefers pew pew guns (which QB has long history of liking - Comet, Patriot, etc.).
that is why I think Foch is such an impressive player and QB compensates with a fuckton of premium ammo spam.
A lot of hidden gems lurking in the tech tree. The Charioteer with the B barrel 20 pounder when coupled with a BiA crew, food, vents and a rammer is such a relentless killing machine. The T-25/2 in the American line, and of course the Leopard PTA being overshadowed by the Leopard 1 is another. Also across the board the tier 9 vehicles are usually great tanks that I prefer over their tier 10 big brothers. The Conway, Skoda T-50, and the T-30 spring to mind. Not universally of course as some lines do end better than the were preceded, like the Grille 15 line.
With the Christmas event I was considering going this line, but instead went for the autoloading line. Always nice to see other opinions about the line I passed on.
I see that camo on french heavies more than on anything else

Considering these french heavies were meant to be in the game much earlier during 2012/2013 where if they were in their original state they would have been pretty good but it has taken them till the end of 2017 to add them and by then they just aren’t competitive against other heavies apart from the tier 9

I want to see a list ranking the tier 9s in the game... either all tech tree tier 9s or your top 10. That's my favorite tier, too.
I tend to view tier 9s and tier 10s as alternate variations of the same tank rather than one necessarily always being progressivly better. It's just a question of playstyle or taste sometimes.

The Centurion 7/1 and AX are fantastic tanks, very well rounded with very good guns. Anyone who says they’re bad is lying or just being hyperbolic.

@@PabloEscobar-nr3ic true, the Centurions are unfortunately support mediums and will rarely carry a game if at all. But they are tanks that do really well when you cooperate with and support team mates. You win the game in a different way with them.
I'd pick the M4 51 over S. Conq anytime, especially after I face hugged one that couldn't do anything against me, he was spamming gold on my hull, on my turret and not a single shot penetrated, also those french heavies are more mobile and 5KM/h faster in straight line, nice brawler tanks.

I think WG messed up with the guns on that M4 51. Most likely they were suppost to put the guns the other way around on the tech tree but they messed that up and realized too late so they couldn't change it anymore so now it's stuck that way and you start with the better gun.
Hello guys, I just started the game and I've received the tier 6 re-searchable tank token. Which would be the best tank to take with it? I'm a complete noob for now but I can do quite well with the t-34-85m which I have as a rental. Any advise would be appreciated.

My first time playing the tier 10 i bounced over 9k damage and did over 7k. IMO its biggest weakness is the fact that its gun mantlet has the same problem that the Maus’s turret has with the rounded shape. So it just melts under gold rounds. Aside from that i really like it.
WG should just make AMX M4 54's armor amazing at least frontaly... it's side armor is awful... and it's frontal armor is still weak in a tier 10 matchup
QB, Obj 430 is same, one gun, the best gun. That's what I found after playing other Tier 9 medium tanks. I have to start with stock gun with M46, E50, T-54 and WZ-120, which was painful experience and win rate for them sucks. So when I started LP TA and Cen 7/1, I used free exp to get to their top gun before playing the first game. I got over 65% win rate for both of them.

T110E5 was my first tier 10. ever since i compare every heavy/medium t10 tk my e5. Really puts things into perspective

I'm glad QB talked about this. The problem with the T10 is the mid plate. Since the plate extends so much further down on the T9, you can go hull down on a ridgeline so much more easily than on the T10. The mid plate on the T10 is the single driving factor on its poor performance. I still LOVE this line. Had great success with every single one of the tanks in this line, but the T9 is better simply because of that mid plate
I feel the Tier-9 AMX has the same problem as the IS-4 when it was tier-9, but functioned more like a tier-9.5 tank. It was better than the IS-7 in a lot of situations.
Hi there, nobb here! I'm watching a lot of your vids!. I got a question about mods. I see you're using the custom damage indicator, how do you activate it? I'm using Aslain mod pack, there is the option to have that same indicator but I can't make it work! I tried deactivating coloured floating damage (maybe it interfered) but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what to do?

HE protection on Conqueror? One of the biggest unpleasantnesses I experienced on this tank was actually how vulnerable it is to HE shells. Maybe the cheeks are protected, but the center is not. I remember instances when I felt safe hull down in front of some obj704 or t95, just to suddenly be hit for 500 with HE.
I really enjoy playing lower tiers 5 thru 8. Below five is mostly meh. And now I know what I have to look forward to on the heavy french line.

I just purchased the liberté with bonds to train a crew for the heavily armored french, yes its armor is amazing, the tank is so pleasant to use ! I look forward to the tech tree tier VIII and its followings !
Oh god, the amx65t is arguably the worst tank in the game. No armor on the huge-ass hull, no armor in the big-ass top turret. I honestly played it with the stock gun and stock turret because you won't be needing those modules on tier9 and its a faster grind.

If you do 1000 dmg on tier x with your tier 9 tank you'll earn more exp than doing that damage on a tier 8 Tank?
This is just like the AMX 30 and amx30b. The tier 10 only has higher view range and DPM with an enormous weak point cupola pen values are the same

OK Quicky I've repurchased the M4 45 in order to go up the research tree to get that tier 9 heavy and boy this tank is hard work, with no armour. Please please pretty please can you do a vid showing how to play this tank? Really struggling
roger daltrey the tier 8 is even more of a chore. Though the M4 mle 51 makes it so worth it.
The maus has a 55mm armor on top of its turret, so it would take an artillery or the fv215b/fv4005 to overmatch it

the tier 9 AMX gets wrecked on Asian server where the Prem Spam is rampant... I found the Obj.705 to be more efficient at tier 9

Hi there ! I'm currently grinding with Tier IX AMX. Just took of "Ace Tanker" with 1400+ base XP. And just Researched "Top" Gun... Idk if its worse or not, I need play a bit more. Thing that bother me the most in tier IX AMX is frontal armor... its so trollish. Some times u bounce heat.. other time u cant bounce E75... like camon...
the geometries of the frontal hull armor of the two tanks should be inverted. So the 54 could be a superb tier X.
I'm one of those that back the crew to tier IX in this tree after unlocking the tier X
I'm curious as to what people think about this vs the e75. The e75 is my most played tank by far and still feels unbelievably powerful against lower tiers and more than capable of handling tier 10s. Also has very thick armour and a accurate, hard hitting gun.

I guess its the same thing with the french medium, the AMX 30 is SOO much better than the AMX 30B tier for tier and ngl, I feel the 30B's turret is worse with the bigger weak spot.

I played tier 9 and 10 and i enjoyed tier 10 more, because they can bounce you even with gold rounds. The tier 9 is amazing until enemies load heat.
All you need to invest on the Tier9 is the Turret, the stock turret is awful with the giant weakspot.
Are they ever going to buff the 54? I've been waiting for years now.

I don't think it's weird to go down a Tier. I've unloched the 5a but I can't make it work. Seems like I can't use the armour or gun right so I put my crew back into the 111-1.
I'll do so with my Obj. 704 crew. I love the ISU much more than I do like the 704 or I will the 268 whenever I finish the grind.
6:30 QB... You also need to remmember the M4 51 has much weaker hull armour.... Only the turret is 300mm. Where are the 54 gets 300mm on the frontal plate. That "mid plate" is also not a mid plate, it's the edge of the plate, from where it's been flame cut.
I do agree with you though. At tier 9 the M4 51 is better, and tier 9 MM is arguably the most enjoyable, affordable and profitable for the most part. I stick to my 50B and 110E5 for bonds and grand battles.
12:13 no the problem is that the tier 10 is not bad at all is just there are so many other crazy overpower tanks at tier 10 that makes it look bad
280 AP pen is pretty decent though, thats not the same as 280 APCR or HEAT pen. good for the angled lower plate and angled side armor shots
