Alice Tarot (2nd edition) compared to 1st edition

- Comparison of the 2019 edition of the Alice Tarot from Baba Studio with the 1st edition from 2014. The cards are identical except the new edition appears to have a lighter touch with the cold foil stamping than many of the cards in the 1st edition. The backs are new, of course, and the box is changed.

Thank you! This is like 2 or 3 years later after watching your review of the two editions of The Alice Tarot. As beautiful as it is it might not give as accurate a divination as a Rider Wait deck. Im thinking its more of an oracle deck than a divination deck. Yes I still would like an The Alice Tarot deck, but its not exactly jumping into my lap! I can appreciate the cost and toil to develope this deck as I had commercial art training, but I think its un obtainium at least for the present. Thank you for your patient display of each and every card, im so grateful to you! Thank you mam!😢
I agree it would probably be best for someone who knows the books well, but there are loads of decks out there to appeal to every taste! Thanks for watching. 😊

The new edition has darker detailing as far as I can tell in the video. Thanks so much, I was wondering if they had changed subjects or redone an of the cards aside from the card backs. I love the box for this deck. I have the first edition and I was trying to figure out if it would be worth buying the new edition this much time after it had gone out of print.

I'm assuming you mean "limited amount" :) Very often they will, even if they aren't super expensive when they're first issued. Baba Studio decks tend to be highly sought after, so after they go out of print it is not uncommon to see them going for hundreds of dollars on the secondary market (eBay, etc.). Enjoy your new deck! I'd love to hear what you think when you get it.
Do you feel the 2nd edition cards are lighter in weight than the 1st edition? I don't have the 1st edition so I compared them to my Victorian Romantic. The stack height is the same, but overall the Alice deck is lighter. Card stock seems flimsier than the Victoria Romantic ....? What do you think in comparison to the 1st edition Alice?

Hi C Guinevere, you may be right. I didn't notice when I was going through them, but wasn't really checking for it. The new edition does seem just slightly more flexible. I checked it again the 1st edition. Then I checked with 2 editions of the Victorian Romantic, and the difference seemed a little more pronounced. The new deck is as thick as the original, and as thick as the VR so I'm not sure what the difference may be. Maybe it has something to do with the core? I think they usually use black core, maybe this is blue core? No idea. I expect it will hold up well anyway. Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)
