I got my gummy smile from an accident from when I was two. I severed the thin tissue that joins the lip to the gum, and sometimes when I smile you can see that it's cut. I never wanted to have surgery but never liked the scar either, so learning that this exists is amazing
@@Lu-li1ei If getting surgery just makes you happier and more confident in yourself, I am all for it…..but if someone doesn’t like/want to be with you just because of your “excessive gingival display”, I think you’re better off without them

Its not the subject of "needs". If you are trying to fit the natural beauty standarts which is a biologically how most of the people select their partners in order to have healthy offsprings & longer/healthier partners, your apperance matters in this way. This can be your posture, general health, boy fat percentage, muscle mass, fuller lusher lips, healthier & well trimmed facial hairs... in general looking healthy and well presented is the key. There are documents that large group of people select these traits to be more desirable. If I want to know why my lips are not deemed to be desirable, then I would "need" this information.

stop hating your gummy smile! I’ve always thought they were adorable and grew up wishing I had one. When your smile naturally shows your gums, it makes your smile look so much bigger and happier and infectious. I’m an artist and I draw gummy smiles on purpose because I think they’re beautiful. Screw this idea that there’s only one right way to have a face.
Every smile has something unique about it, which is what makes the smile inherently beautiful when it's genuine. So even if it doesn't look like the beauty standard, it actually looks more beautiful if it's natural but comes from heart. Because a modified smile can't fully come from heart anymore. It is stiffer, it lacks personality, it is not entirely yours anymore. Own what mother nature gave you, you can trust her because she made sure that your features fit with each other. She did not intend them to fit with idealistic and fleeting standards. She knows these don't matter. Some people who have very thin lips or very uneven lips can profit from such procedures, of course, but I think beyond that you should just instead make sure your teeth look really good and own that smile and it will be ten times more attractive. I have discovered that when a person's smile is genuine, truly happy and heartfelt, it catches your attention no matter what. Even if a tooth is missing, even if the lips are thin, no matter what shape. Realize that before you change anything.
