I was at this concert and it was absolutely fantastic. Everyone Aerosmith played the Capitol Center it was a blast. You could get high just breathing the air.
@@garyricketts596 Golden Earring. Aerosmith played often at the former Capital Center. Had been to several other concerts before 78 to see the band. Used to get discount tickets because a girls father was affiliated with the Cap Center.
That right.Golden earring blew aerosmith off the stage.Joe perry played for his amps and Tyler was wasted allnight.Five rows from the stage and general admission to boot.
I feel the same way! How? How did the young Beatles write Eleanor Rigby or She’s Leaving Home? Or any other of their emotional wise songs? And music to match? So many of those bands started so young! Amazing insights. Big part of what made the 60s and 70s so amazing! I think some people are born to intuit things more than others. We are the lucky ones who experienced that wealth of talent. I’m glad I was born when I was so I could be blown away by all the talent around!
This song played at my good friends funeral. It's been almost a year since he passed, but I still can't keep myself from crying when I hear it. I hope you are finally good, pal.
I grew up listening to Aerosmith's music due to my mother being a huge fan of them. And now I'm reminiscing in all of the good music Aerosmith has left behind for everyone to enjoy. True rock legends of this world!
In Joe Perry's book he says Steven is gifted with a larynx/voicebox that is freakishly large, which gives him not only great range but a dual tenor/bass quality. I suspect Freddie Mercury also possessed this quality.
I love Aerosmith and I'm only 2 and a half years old. Can everyone give me appreciation for being so young and liking music my grandfather listens to. I restore your faith in the younger generations.
I'm sure your grandfather told you how special you were a lot growing up, and i'm here to tell you that he was absolutely right and you deserve a medal for liking music from before your time, because that shit's rare lol

Man,... this takes me back to my youth during the 70's. At 15 years old my very first concert I went to was Aerosmith(Get Your Wings tour) at COBO Hall, Detroit, Michigan and they played this song. I had attended every concert they played in the Detroit area for 10 years including COBO Hall, Pontiac Silverdome and the wonderful outside venue of Pine Knob (now DTE Energy Center). Seems like yesterday when watching these old videos. Sadly an era of great bands like Aerosmith is coming to an end,... time is taking it's toll as it does with every generation.

[Chorus]
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Screw pop music, classic rock's where it's at!
Yes, yes....finally someone who understands.
So was I. But I was raised listening to this stuff.
Deacon Butler yep, me too
There's good and bad music in every genre, it's not a competition. Just enjoy the music, regardless to how people label and categorise it.
Lyrics:
Every time that I look into the mirror
All these lines in my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay
Well, I know, nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life's in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and from sages
You know it's true, oh
All these things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take it away
Hey-hey-hey
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away
Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream on, dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream on, dream on, dream on, dream on, oh
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

@@garyricketts596 Golden Earring. Aerosmith played often at the former Capital Center. Had been to several other concerts before 78 to see the band. Used to get discount tickets because a girls father was affiliated with the Cap Center.

how they could come up with such stuff while they were so young is just amazing
Because this generation did not grow up with a cell phone. We lived and learned.
Acid is a wonderful drug😜 was my favorite... window pain.😉
@Steven Tyler 🤣 u funny 😆
Steven wrote the song on the family piano at age 15 didn’t think it would do anything at the time never played it with anyone else but Aerosmith
I started to love Steven Tyler and the band Aerosmith at the age of 16, and today, at 41, my love only grows.❤

His voice gets greater as time goes.
True. I don't even like the "early Steven Tyler voice" althoguh "Dream on" has to be the greatest Aerosmith song ever.

actually this isn't a good version of this song, his voice has aways been very good
He was mentored by Steve Perry the master lol.
@@mateuscoelho123 Voice wise I agree but sound wise it’s perfect. Just as heavy as the song should have always been
I think he was in his heroin use phase here
In Joe Perry's book he says Steven is gifted with a larynx/voicebox that is freakishly large, which gives him not only great range but a dual tenor/bass quality. I suspect Freddie Mercury also possessed this quality.
This song makes me feel like im falling head first down a mountain into the observable universe
This was the theme to my prom way back in 1976! Love you Steven and Aerosmith!❤

"Hello, my amazing supporter! Your warmth and positivity always brighten my day. Thank you for your unwavering love and encouragement. I'm so grateful to have you here! Where in the world are you tuning in from?"
*The 1970s was a GOLDEN ERA for some of the best music ever created. Rock on*.
Man,... this takes me back to my youth during the 70's.
Shut it fossil why are you still on the internet?
Saw em summer of 75 at Philly spectrum awesome show they were young an hungry then before all the drugs took hold
This is the classic of classics! Turning 40 next week and this still gives me goosebumps like when I saw them live at 13 years old!

*As a wise man once said :*
_"Only when a mosquito lands lands on your testicles will you realize violence isn't always the answer"_
Who is this wise man? He's million years ahead of us.
I remember these from when I was a kid. Also remember Dave Clark 5, Lettermen, Jan & Dean...sigh the good old days...
There was a time in my life when I gave up...I checked myself into rehab and my counselor asked us to pick our personal theme song. I chose this one. I have been sober now for 16 years and got my life together. This song literally saved my life.
And then he said , Keep looking at the mosquito sucking your bloodyballs till he get away and you will achieve nirvana.
But you will realize that violence is the way to go

So we now know that the video production team at the Cap Centre was running a Umatic or VHS or Betamax and taping ALL of the shows in the 70s.
