This song should NEVER start without that beginning line:
"Oh, hello, Mr. Tyler! Going..........DOWN?"
This song never gets old, it'll be kicking ass 100 years from now.
True!!!!
Yope!
Same 😂
Its not a song its a masterpiece

I'm old AF. Remember the very day this premiered on MTV. It still rocks.

This is one of the most perfect songs ever made. The ending harmonizing part gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Aerosmith is the best when it comes to having songs with no obvious meaning
I never think of elevators the same after this song came out.
Especially when you push the DOWN button 😂
I never rode an elevator until this song came out.

Jeff Hedden Brandi Brandt.. ex-wife of Nikki Sixx.
The energy of the music from this era is incredible
Agreed!!!!
This is such a creative song. There's a lengthy (and incredible) instrumental section, horns, trippy effects, and an acapella ending - and it's still catchy as hell and rocks damn hard. Aerosmith were incredible songwriters.
I love the way it seems to fade, while theyre still singing the chorus, then it keeps going with the instruments, until they come back at the end.
It was all perfectly choreographed.
Yes a point commonly forgotten in all the glitz and intensity!
Music in general has been lost....I miss long instrumental moments.....ESPECIALLY DRUM SOLO

These guys are all such dynamic performers, especially Tyler & Perry. They write some fantastically catchy tunes and just seem to be having an absolute blast on stage! Rock n’ Roll needs more of this! I like the grunge era “downer/morose” rock too, but Aerosmith is rock n’ roll personified!
I read that a lil too fast and saw "Tyler Perry" and was confused for 1 whole second
@@essential67 Did Tyler Perry name himself after Steven Tyler and Joe Perry?
They're so fun and that's what rock n roll should be about. They've never grown out of that and that's why they're the superstars they are
@@Cartman254 He's their love child.
Who doesn't love giant hooks, over the top choruses, and ear splitting crescendos. Tyler perfected the 'Dream Scream'

Please understand how fucking gay this felt to read
Oh yes
Joe perry f*kin nailed it. That solo.
Rahul Dubey wasn't Joe Perry in Bruce Hornsby and The Range??
A much overlooked solo..never seen it in any best solo lists, but it is excellent and iconic even.
Great dancing too!
Swing Metal.
That man has aged like fine wine!
Aerosmith... Father Tyler, Perry, Witford, Hamilton and Kramer know how to masterfully create a timeless good rockin' tune.Pure awesomeness. Pure sexy rock n' rollin' greatness. My respects to all of them.
''And that kids is how I met your mother''
The "going down" chick was the first wife of Nikki Sixx. Iconic scene.
Mr. Whitford and Joe freaking Perry killed those solos.
E Bay like your profile pic 👍
E Bay I also approve of profile pic
Don't forget Tom the legend Hamilton with the bassline too
Tom's bass Hook is killer
One of the best things I love about this song, is that toward the end, the lyrics begin to fade and it turns into an instrumental of sorts but then comes back and ends on a strong note with the chorus once again.
The way they choreographed that is just brilliant!
Agreed!!!
One of their best songs. Pump confirmed that Aerosmith was back with a vengeance after some obscure years. This one and "What it Takes" remain as classics of late 80's american rock n' roll. A little glossy, yes (though not as overproduced as their 90s material) but full of sleazy, unadulterated blues rock. While Whitford and Hamilton provide a kinky rhythm section, accentuated by your typical hair metal bluesy drum pattern (though Kramer could run circles around his contemporaries) Joe Perry is melting faces with the solos and Tyler is giving his best performance in years. Always puts a smile on my face. Great times.
I remember seeing Pump in EVERY music store back then. It was a hot album. The producers that got with for that album were on fire 🔥🔥
True!!!!
Undeniable facts - Joe Perry kicks ass, Steve Tyler is a great rock performer and we need a re-birth of this kind of rock. All Hail Aerosmith!
yeah right we need a re birth of such of rock and the rock star (steven tyler,,) himself..no one compares him
Au60schild good on the old school mad pay 10 for, wow powerful!
IF you like this style, check out Bad Boy Eddy from California. They sent me their album a few year ago, it blue me away. Very 80s = 90s rock style and original material :)
@@samanthaschofield743 what?
The funny thing is their first hit - Dream On - sounded different from any of their following hits. Also it took Run-DMC's remake of Walk This Way (with generous backgrounds by Aerosmith) to revitalize their career after things has considerably cooled for them.

I rode the Aerosmith Rockin' RollerCoaster at Disney this past June. My Brother and I got in the single rider line, and of course we got split up. I was seated with a kid about 13 years old, who was peer pressured into riding it. He was shaking in his boots nervous. It set us off and he started screaming like a little girl. This song started blaring in our ears. I naturally started singing along. I noticed he stopped his screaming just then. I looked over at him, and he was staring right into my eyes. He was all of a sudden calm. He asked me, "You know every word to this song?" I looked at him funny, and I said "Heck yeah I do!"
He asked me, "Why?" I replied with,
"Why the hell would I not?"
Love that ride!
really?? thats an awesome story by the way :D but i thought this song was too "rough" and "hard" for someone like disney to personally play on their coasters, cause you know, disney is for kids...
Just rode that roller coaster too on last winter before this pandemic annoyed us!,

Aerosmith - Love in an Elevator
Workin' like a dog
For the boss man (whoa)
Workin' for the company (whoa, yeah)
Bettin' on the dice
I'm tossin' (whoa)
I'm gonna have a fantasy (whoa, yeah)
Where am I gonna look?
They tell me that love is blind
I really need a girl like an open book
To read between the lines
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm going down
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up 'til I hit the ground
Shakin' in the elevator (whoa)
Lingerie second floor (whoa, yeah)
She said can I see you later (whoa)
And love you just a little more (whoa, yeah)
I kinda hope we get stuck
Nobody gets out alive
She said "I'll show you how to
Fax in the mailroom honey
And have you home by five"
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm going down
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up 'til I hit the ground
In the air, in the air
Honey one more time now it ain't fair
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm going down
(Love in an)
Elevato-o-o-o-o-o-or
Going down
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm going down
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I hit the ground
Gonna be a penthouse pauper (whoa)
Gonna be a millionaire (whoa, yeah)
Gonna be a real fast talker (whoa)
And have me a love affair (whoa, yeah)
Gotta get my timing right
It's a test that I got to pass
I'll chase you all the way
To the stairway honey
Kiss your sassafrass
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm going down
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I hit the ground
In the air, in the air
Honey one more time now it ain't fair

2:10 to 3:40 - The introduction to the Break by a 'faked' transition between the first theme and the Chorus, then from the Break to the 'real' Chorus. Every single note played in that passage, the drums, the solo guitar and lead guitars, vocals... The mix between Blues, Rock, Hard Rock, with a pop funk bass line... Everything is just PER-FECT!

Long live Aerosmith and real music
I saw these guys in 1997 live, during their Nine Lives tour. No other band that I have seen has ever come close to that show in Meadowlands Arena! Their opening song - Back in the Saddle, was so explosive!!! I remember it so vividly. They walked on the stage with a huge curtain and you see their silhouettes. And when the beat dropped, the curtain dropped and huge fireballs came up from the corners of the stage around them at the same time! Like I said, no one has ever opened with such energy like that since. Not even when I saw them again in 2001 at Madison Square Garden!
I saw them the same year at Glasgow Barrowlands. Fabulous!!
The ending harmony of all of them in the mic gets me choked up

When I was a little girl (5 little), I used to sing along and dance around to this in front of the TV. I was in love with and wanted to be Steven Tyler. Been a fan my whole life; mom had to blast Aerosmith on the stereo to soothe me as a baby. Had every album as a kid and a tye dye Monkey on My Back T-shirt, which I wore everywhere. Life has been down lately and I find myself turning back to the music(even listening on headphones as I fall asleep).

I literally spent all of 6th and 7th grade wishing I could be these guys when I grew up. Wish I could've been in this generation.
Dude, the song and video are here on CZcams!
It's the 'love in an elevator" that takes time, planning, and a stifled giggle. Probably need more than 2 floors....or not.
They did drugs a lot I doubt that you would survive that much abuse if you really would like to be them
Fun fact: Steven Tyler (the lead singer of the band) actually did make love in an elevator with someone and that was what inspired this song. As Steven tells it, he was in a hotel hot tub with multiple women. He then ended up in a elevator with one of them to take her to his room for a hookup, while wearing nothing but towels and bathrobes. They then started making out and getting hot and heavy not realizing the elevator was going down to the lobby. In the end they got caught as the elevator doors opened, giving the crowded lobby a look. He was just grateful there weren't any kids there lol.
There are only 4 floors in my building.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Happy Birthday Steven Tyler born on March 26, 1948. He is an American singer, best known as the lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, in which he also plays the harmonica, piano and percussion. He has been called the "Demon of Screamin'" due to his high screams and his powerful wide vocal range. He is also known for his on-stage acrobatics. During his performances, Tyler usually dresses in colorful (and sometimes androgynous) outfits and makeup with his trademark scarves hanging from his microphone stand. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Tyler
