- New vocations video made in 2011 for the English Dominican Province.
The Order of Friars Preachers is an international religious order of priests and brothers in the Catholic Church. The Order was founded in 1216 by St Dominic, with a mission for 'preaching and the salvation of souls'. The friars live together in communities called priories, bound together by vow and observing the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Members of the Order are known around the world as 'Dominicans' after their founder. In Great Britain, Dominican friars became known in mediæval times as 'black friars' because of the black cappa or cloak which they wear over their white habits.
The Province of England comprises seven houses in England and Scotland, and two in the Caribbean.

dominicans are awesome. Thanks for the Rosary!
Non merito la felicità di essere parte di questo Ordine. Glorifico il Signore che fa delle nostre vite di domenicani delle meraviglie! Orgoglioso di essere domenicano!
God bless the Dominican order of Preachers, you are pure orthodoxy. Thank you for your life of prayer, penitence, fasting, work, study and training. I try to do the same in my weakness.
Thank you for being great men, leading the world back to Christ.
What a beautiful document about dominican friars! I must say, that Dominicans in Poland are confusingly similar to american friars. I think you have such a wonderful religious life. :) I really appreciate you for openness to other people, for the sensitivity, living in the truth. It is very important nowadays to be yourself, because by this truth about ourselves other people are becoming closer to us, and closer to our God.
God Bless you Brothers!
What a beautiful and well done video.
Beautiful, thank you
A beautiful video about the Dominicans- I belong to Dominican Parish in Melbourne and I love St Dominic. However I was looking for something which would explain to my audience something about St Dominic. Your video has met my needs for my work but I totally enjoyed it for myself as well Thank you. Last year, I visited Oxford so seeing it again in the video was a happy reminder. Keep up the great work of salvation
Awesome, brothers!

The Dominican Salve Regina
I see no one answered you! It is the Dominican "Salve Regina".
What is the song in this video????
erickshonatan Salve Regina. Use your search engine to query Salve Regina lyrics. It is one of only two hymns that Dominican sing in Gregorian chant regularly, since antiphonal singing of the Divine Office and other common prayers are done in a single tone, known as recto tono. As the Friars lose that tone, the Cantor uses a pitch pipe to bring them back up to the proper pitch. I hope this helps you to understand.
