I have a strong love for reverts because they have such a passion for Islam that we as born Muslims might have lost along the way and its refreshing to see someone embrace Islam...It shows how lucky we are to be Muslim and to have such a wonderful religion guide us through the world :)
Husna S. ..You hit the nail on its head there...most reverts are stonger in the dean than believers who are raised in a muslim home..
Obviously thats my opinion and i am not trying to hurt anyone cuz there are exceptions
well i believe in Oneness of God, I may not be a Momeen but at the end of the day, all core values are the same.
There is no religion called Hindu (the Sanatan Dharm is a codified religion) but the overall Hinduism philosophy has the covenants which are found in most later day philosophies.
My take-out from spirituality is that connecting with परमात्मा (Param Atma/ Parmatma) Supreme Soul is most important and to imbibe the deeds and thoughts to raise that self awareness to get closer to the Universal truth.
परमात्मा (Param Atma/ Parmatma) Supreme Soul is whom we all have come from and will go back to (and in doing so, must better our chances to be worthy of the final blessings).. as it is said - انا لله وانا اليه راجعون؛ اللهم اجرني في مصيبتي واخلفلي خيرا منها _inaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji‛oon_ :) IS the final truth!
Almighty existed before there was time and before the Universe came into being and will continue after these are gone too.. and as humans we all strive to make our journey AND destination worthwhile.
*+clan mcleod* one thing is that a person making such life changing decision in adulthood
(usually) does so after MUCH deliberation and obviously would have higher determination and dedication to go deeper and deeper in it (the theology/ philosophy of choice)
though not that top priority, the person also might have this at the back of their mind that they have to prove themselves right to others, as in that their choice of path was right or that they are really dedicated and lovingly embrace the path.
P.S.: I'm not a Momeen, nor really a follower of Sanatan Dharam. But I try to delve deeper into the Hinduism philosophy (Hinduism is NOT a religion/ structured religion) and do believe in Oneness of God.
The observations and thoughts are based on interactions with real life people who choose say; Islam or Hinduism and I've seen the same thing as OP (Husna ji mentioned) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/-ji
Being a revert muslim or muslim is a gift from ALLAH its His choice because He is the all knowing and all seeing
Reverts are the most enlightened. They don't take Islam for granted. Mashallah, an inspiring man!
I only hope and pray that we Muslims fellow the Sunnah of our beloved prophet pbuh.

I don’t know why it makes me cry when I hear the story of the people how they revert. It amazes me how Allah Subhan ho watala guides people who he wants to. Allah ho Akbar. (Allah the Greatest)

overcometv well technically I haven't, its a really long story.i am about the same age and a Tottenham boy but have lived in Aus 44 years now.
Been heavily involved in church but burnt out trying to make what I thought I believed fit.
3 years ago almost I thought im a christian because of my background, same as if I were from say Pakistan I would probably be muslim.
I wanted to believe that physical healing happens but it didnt and thought we treat God like a coke vending machine, put in our dollar of faith and bingo a miracle.
I realised God is not like that, but god works miracles thrugh people who choose to do good like doctors or simply loving someone and serving. Od gave us a world to manage but he will come back to settle up the score.Have we honoured him and told him to get stuffed.
I decided that what god wants from me is obedience, I decided that Jesus was sent by God and said, follow my example, take up your cross, deny yourself and serve others, that is what pleases god, nothing else.
So I read the quran, I can recite both a fatihah and al ikhlas.
How beautiful is al fatihah, the word so true.
You may wonder why the quran? Well I know many muslims and none are nutters, none have bombs and all want to live honest clean godly lives.
I take solace in seeing god as a mystic being who I cant fathon, not someone I try to personify as a silly ol geezer sitting on a throne like Lizzie.
No God is beyond my futile mind, he is eternal niether begats nor is born ie lam yoolid walam yoolad.
Its hard being like this, I start reciting and people thing im a raving nut job with a knife.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I realise my life is about jihad wow every body run , they think they know what it means but I know it is about the inner struggle to say no to my horrible human nature and die to my ego .
Most times I think I loose the battle but somehow I keep getting back up again.
Being married make it even harder I feel.
When I listen to the azan i feel good, how simple to declare whom god is to say forget the world, the rat race, come rest, lay down your struggle, stop being a rat in the rat race and say allahu akbar, god is greater.
Perhap inshallah I need a miracle
