Question: Is wireless Apple carplay / Android auto supported on non premium vehicles?
Is there a mobile app that connects to the car to add more functionality? remote start?
Thanks Melvin! Yes, you'd be able to use wireless across the board for any Mustang with Sync4. The mobile apps compatible with Sync 4 are pretty limited. It's better to go through Android Auto or CarPlay and maximize the apps you use there. There's the available FordPass app that gives you some functionality - working on that video now
Great video. Can you explain how you add or delete a preset can't seem to find any info on that.
Thanks! There's surprisingly no way to delete presets once their set.. you can only overwrite them. I do cover off in this video how to add a preset but once you're on a station you want to save, then press and hold one of the available slots to save it

Great video. I have a question. Apple Carplay seems a little bit laggy and slow. But Android Auto works pretty smooth. Is it a temporary thing or is it always laggy like that?
Thank you! I've noticed that on a few different cars I've reviewed too.. I'd recommend reaching out to Ford corporate and let them know so that it's on their radar as something that needs to be addressed
Under Sirius, where you can make a new profile, i made one for myself and saved presets, made one for my wife, save presets, all it did was overwrite the ones i had saved for me. i saved them under each of us, didnt seem to change when i picked who was driving. Have you tried making at least 2 profiles in sirius and have it work? would love a video if you can figure that out. ended up deleting hers and just going back to one profile with my presets. I have a 400A car, so cant save seating memory unfortunately, but sirius should be on its own since i do have that option.
Hmm it should remember that setting in a profile. I'll look at putting together a video on user profiles specifically and cover everything!
I have the active valve/ 401a performance pack. Is the extra button on the fob for the active valve exhaust exclusive to the convertible? Mine is the coupe

Is the wireless charge pad an upgrade?

It's in the EcoBoost Premium 200a/201a, GT Premium 400a/401a and Dark Horse only.. base models don't have it unfortunately
How fast will the wireless charge pad charge a phone? what version charging is it?
Good question! Typically the wireless charge pad in Ford vehicles is 5w. No published media info saying otherwise on the new Mustang
Does voice command (from the steering wheel) only connect with my phone? It responds that it needs to connect with Siri. Can I ask it directly to tune to a saved radio station? Can I ask it for directions which were already saved on the maps? The car is already linked via Bluetooth and CarPlay to my iPhone. Ford is asking me to subscribe for $10.00 a month for some sort of voice connection. This is a little perplexing. Thanks for any response.

The voice command prompt will let you use either the standard voice assistant or Siri/Google Assistant/Bixby. Here are some scenarios:
Phone not connected:
The voice command prompt will let you change radio stations, adjust climate, navigate (with factory navigation only). You can use commands like "tune to 94.9, navigate to 1 Yonge Street etc"
Phone connected over bluetooth:
A short button press of the voice command prompt will connect you to the vehicle's voice assistant and let you do all the functions as if your phone wasn't connected. A long button press of the voice command prompt will connect to Siri or Bixby for you to use the assistant on your phone
Phone connected over Apple CarPlay or Android Auto:
Works the same as above but for Android Auto it will use the Google Assistant instead of Bixby
You can jump between presets by pressing the left/right arrows on the right pad of the steering wheel. If your phone is connected and the features aren't working properly you can try to delete the phone from the vehicle and vehicle connections on the phone (through bluetooth and CarPlay/Android auto) and then re-connect
Thanks for the info. I sent via Facebook the mail received from Ford about continued service for Alexa (?)and voice commands. How is this different than voice commands in general? I don't need Alexa if the car itself is performing what I want it to.@@CarsWithSteve
The Alexa system is separate from the normal voice assistant. I've never used the Alexa system on any Ford vehicle but it offers audio streaming, news and a few other things. You don't need to have a Ford/Alexa subscription to just use the regular voice assistant
hello steve, why does your ford mustang dont have active valve exhaust ?
This one isn't mine! It was the first one the dealer I'm partnered with got and I wanted to get a video shot ASAP. I always recommend active valve exhaust for Mustang owners!

I'm not able to control and see my spotify list on the panel on my ecoboost 2024 ,bluetooth audo option shows in black n white even though my phoneis connected with audio playing. Any leads?
You'd need to be connected over Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for the spotify list to show up.. otherwise it's just audio streaming
@CarsWithSteve Yes I connected with Android Auto but can't use spotify i dont see it anywhere in app list, also i tried changing audio source
Few things you could try... Go to Settings --> Manage Apps. Click on Spotify and look for Autostart, there should be an option to "Allow the app to be started by other apps"
If that doesn't work, I have a video showing how to enable developer mode and allowing unknown sources. It's for Waze specifically but it should also give Spotify as an option once it's set up czcams.com/video/K2PMtdje3m0/video.html

I've been getting a lot of static when making calls on my android phone. I've tried erasing my phone and installing it back on, uninstalling android auto but it hasn't fixed the issue. Everything works fine except when making or receiving calls.
What android phone are you using? Have you tried using a USB cable to see if it gives you the same issue? Sounds like you've already done the few things I'd recommend so the next step would be to reach out to Ford Canada or USA and let them know of the issue you're running into
@@CarsWithSteve I haven't tried a USB cable yet. It's a Motorola g stylus.
Just hopped on a few forums but it looks like the Motorola G has some known issues with call and bluetooth issues. It might just be the phone..

For sure. When you turn on line lock it will lock the front bakes but keep your rear ones unused, so when you hammer the gas pedal you get some nice rear end swaying and burnout.
Without line lock you'd need to rev the engine and pop the clutch to get the wheels spinning and then press the brake pedal just enough to lock up the front wheels while the rear wheels are free to start burning out. Way easier for beginners to use line lock instead

They could have configured the dash with the screen looks like they just threw a flat screen on the dash and said where done with the same seats and cheap interior with only 480hp sad
HAHA I think a bit more thought went into it than that but it probably would have looked sharper with a traditional rounded cluster similar to last years 201a Ecoboost and 401a GT. And.. only 480 hp is sad lol?
@@CarsWithSteve why not 500 for 5.0 and 600 for dark horse Ford has been hovering in the 400hp range for 13yrs for the 5.0 crazy
It goes up to 486hp with active valve but a cold air intake would push it to 500 and a stage 1 ECU tune would boost it to over 510+ once they're available. The Dark Horse puts it at 500hp and really the only way to get 600hp+ out of this 5.0L would be to add on a supercharger but that puts you into GT500 performance with closer to 700hp
