    I don't agree on the price thing, if u are OK spending $10k to a rolex sub steel and even more premium for that watch, and not ok on spending $10k for a 007 edition and titanium watch with lume on the bezel, then u are what's wrong with this watch market

    Ok fair review. I am wearing this right now and yes legibility can be an issue in low light. Obviously the lume when charged is amazing and helps with legibility. That being said the design is just so cohesive. I have a 7 1/4” wrist and the Milanese bracelet + clasp fit wonderfully + is super comfortable. I can see the clasp getting wonky on smaller wrists though.
    Overall this watch is super masculine, wonderfully light, durable, and just beautiful. Hard to regret purchasing it - it’s a stunner and super comfy.

    Update, having owned it for 6 months, and despite loving the aesthetic and wrist feel, I sold it because the contrast on the dial made it impossible to read in low light, such as a restaurant. ( or even my living room on an evening) lovely in many ways, unusable as a watch.

  • @gavinwhite9743
    @gavinwhite9743 Před 7 měsíci +4

    Great video, spot on with observations. I struggle to read my NTTD in certain light, and do my best to ignore the Bond references, but, I totally love it. It wears thin, doesn't have a date complication which is great if you own more than one watch, and for me, it looks a bobby dazzler. The fit and looks are all I need ( use my phone for time anyhow😂) Priced high, but it's made of titanium, and everyone of these watches are silly money if we are honest. ( casio could do the same, but you ain't feeling like Bomd wearing one)

    I’ve been happy with mine paying $7k total for a mint version and free matching nato strap. I agree with most of your points and love it for a daily as it’s so light and durable. I’ve never felt the need to put on the nato strap but nice to have as an option. I wouldn’t have paid full price for it but at $7k, I thought it was a good price for a seamaster that’s a bit different.

    • @anonypersona3189
      @anonypersona3189 Před měsícem

      I paid the same for mine. $7k out the door with both straps but I ended up getting the Uncle straps Ti bracelet which fits me even more comfortably (jubilee version). The NTTD is my favorite out of the collection.

    Upon receiving Omega October 2019 newsletter and discovering this watch, I knew I had to get it. I bought it a year ago from a friend AD, brand new with a discount and tax rebate so all in all -25% from MSRP. I have the titanium mesh as well as two identical NATO which go with it. It is a beautiful watch, I enjoy its feather weight although I would have loved if Omega had pushed the envelope with a titanium mainplates, bridges and oscillator frame movement like they just did with the new Planet Ocean.
    I really enjoy my first Omega and don’t regret buying it. It keeps great time, the Metas certificate is an added bonus but it is frustrating that Omega will not renew it when the watch is returned for service. I have yet to hear the ceramic bearings noise you describe but also I am not shaking the watch the way you did in the video, it’s a bit extreme… The price… I don’t really care, if I like it and really want it, I get it. 😉

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts, especially in regards to the loud rotor! I haven't heard this from any other reviews yet.
    I had two watches with loud rotors - Lorier and Longines and both were rapidly sold. Definitely a no go for any new watch, especially over $1000.
    I also wish that the markers were less brown and more cream, to help with legibility. All that being said, the watch looks great. I hope regular Seamaster comes out with more muted and less shiny and reflective colour schemes.

    When comparing to a Rolex, the new titanium YM might be a better comp due to materials used. At the price of the YM in comparison the SMP isn’t bad value.

    I had one for a year. Good bracelet and the titanium case is excellent. The faux aged lume is just too faux as it is not as visible as it should be in daylight. The big problem is the domed glass as at night it makes the time very hard to read at an oblique angle.

    Tokyo 2020 Olympic version is the best colour combo. White dial, blue bezel and the hour markers/hands change colour from black to blue in the glare/reflection. Prices on Chrono24 are similar to the NTTD but much more rare! Only 3 for sale in USA whereas there are 50 NTTD for sale in USA and 188 total right now. Also, the NTTD was at every AD in the 3 cities I visited in past few years. Not rare at all... IYKYK the Tokyo is the best SMP

      @patrickjean-philippe7679 Před 9 měsíci

      I much prefer the Seamaster NTTD but you know, tastes, colours and materials _ we have all different tastes. Rarity can be an extra desirability factor for collectors that’s correct but that is not the only factor…

  • @MegaSale89
    @MegaSale89 Před 11 měsíci

    Great video bro and a great watch! This mesh bracelet is definitely preferred over the standard SMP one mainly due to the taper and thickness. With that, not sure if i could justify 4k premium for the same watch in different color and titanium… If money wasn’t the issue, I would probably go with this model but for the difference of another Tudor BB58, probably not.
    Keep em coming!

    Excellent review. I had both the NTTD and gen 2 300 Heritage. I sold the NTTD and kept the 300 but put on a 21 mm omega mesh. You nailed most of my issues with the NTTD. I picked mine up for slightly more than half retail and still decided to move it along. If it had an 8912 movement and wasn’t a “bond watch” it would be the best Seamaster on the market. The size and weight are perfect. The cream lume, brown dial and bezel are beautiful. That ceramic ball bearing in the rotor, the hard to read (in daylight) hands and all the bond stuff (mod arrow and printing on the case back) killed it for me.

  • @mybrainlikesthings
    @mybrainlikesthings Před 11 měsíci

    Omega doesn't appeal to me, so my comment isn't about the watch: Is this your first video trusting someone else with photography? I think that you got good results. And being comfortable in one's own skin has something to do with that. I would like to suggest shooting in 60fps because that would give you some flexibility in the story/edit, like invisible speed ramping or clip reversals.

    I have a handful of Seamaster diver pieces, so I am picky. The NTTD looks nice from afar, but it is a no. Fautina, skeleton hands, and toothpaste escape valve are no good. But the absolute heresy is the disrespectful use of military marks and the Bond markings. An absolute red flag and I am an avid Omega collector. Wearing a much more authentic - full titanium - SMP 300 2231.50.

    I got lucky, a guy was selling one on behalf of a friend who received it as a gift. 5.4K. As soon as I pressed buy, he tried to change his mind because he realised the value of the watch, but by then, he was obligated to sell it because he was paid for it.
