    Thank you so much!! I saw today my tail light had water and my blinker inside was flickering fast so I knew something was going on! You saved me from taking my truck into go check and possibly being charged an arm and a leg!! This was exactly what I was looking for again thank you so much!!!!

    Thank you for your demonstration. My left tail light has water in it, too. Discovered a crack where the clear meets the red running vertically. I had this same problem with a 1985 Topaz; a crack in the lens allowed water to drip onto a bulb shattering it. Dealer at complete loss as to why. Fixed the crack with epoxy and no more leaks.

    Interesting...I have the same difficulty removing the driver side tail as well. When I first removed mine I cracked the top rear corner next to the tailgate. Of course only noticed when I saw the water buildup. I bought Gorilla clear silicone sealant from WalMart and beaded the entire housing. Been through some car washes and heavy rain and seals maintained. Appreciate the vids highlighting your issues. Have experienced issues like you have with my 2018. Purchased mine June of last year.

    Loctite 2 in 1 seal and bond clear would probably work to seal it. Put a thin bead and push it into gap and wipe the residual off. Dries crystal clear. Been using it on my RV and its awesome.

    What a pain this truck has turned out to be for you. I had 2017 f150 with the 2.7 l engine and it gave me so many problems that ford took my truck back and I upgraded to a 2018 f150 with the 5.0. So much happier now. I had less than 15000 miles on the 2.7 and basically the engine went.. the oil blow by was so bad that it looks like a bbq smoker every time I started it. My local dealer told me that they sent the truck back to the factory for a new engine. I am fortunate so far not to have any water issues in my tail lights although i have been encouraged to install wheel liners in the back so this will not be an issue. The local f150 guys here use marine silicone when they have changed bulbs to make sure they get a water tight seal. Enjoy the vids. Cheers

    Thanks for this video. The Ford manual says remove the screws. But it is not clear at all about pulling the pins and I did not want to chance breaking plastic. Your video showed me how it is put together. I now wonder why there isn't a drain hole to prevent water building up in this light assembly.

    It's Christmas morning, and luckily it's not so freezing cold outside, so as the wife is cooking, I;m trying to remove the tail light so I can drain 4 inches of water from the Ford tail light, just like you and several other people are experiencing. My bulb still burns submerged in water...weird. Anyway, my takeaway from your video, is pull the tail light straight back. Thank you, and hope you are enjoying your Christmas morning. Me to, if I can get my water drained.

    I had a white 2015 F150 with a 2.7 that I absolutely loved. Put 100k on it in three years. I’m a sales manager with a large territory. Annnnnnyway. The only issue I had with lights was my cab light. The first winter I had it I noticed my carpet was wet behind the front seats. Long story short the cab light was letting water into the cab and on to the head liner. Check that seal immediately! The seal of the cab light was jacket up from the factory. It was all rolled over and twisted. Obviously someone at the factory was in a hurry the day they installed mine. I was able to fix it but I had to pull the back seat to properly dry the carpet and padding and the water stained my headliner. Never could get that stain out. Takes 30 seconds to remove that light and check the seal. it’s worth checking my friend because if it is leaking or does leak it’s a pain in the ass to dry everything out in the cab. Sorry for the looooooong response.

    Hello my friend.
    I suggest you use some dielectric grease on all the bulbs inside that tail light. If you dont the sockets will corrode and thats not something you want to happen. The moisture may eventually cause a short that can melt both the housing and harness.
    Also I agree with not changing the brake lights, but I would definitely recommend doing the reverse lights.
    I swapped all my white rearward facing lights with LED's (box lights, license plate light's and reverse lights) and it just really looks nice. Also the reverse lights seem to be 10x brighter. I got Marsauto 3157 led's. They have 52 led's per bulb and come with a 2 year warranty. $19 shipped w Amazon prime.
    I also did the 3rd brake light cause I had a bunch of LED's for that socket so why not right?
    Upgrading all the front and rear white lights to LED's has made a huge improvement on my 17. I have said it before but I went all Sealight LED's up front and they have performed incredibly well so far. Super bright and super clean looking.
    All that said I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1
      @WICKEDAUTO1  Před 5 lety +1

      That's actually what I was just thinking about, the issues down the road with it letting water in. That's not a bad idea swapping out the reverse lights! Especially for that price I'll definitely be taking that! So far these beamtechs are doing great but if they would fail before even a year I will try your sealight recommendation. I'm pretty sure I've read about them being quite good on the forum as well. Thank you!!!

      Ten-Four buddy I have done the same had my sealight F150 LED kit for a month no issues and love the clarity and the brightness when I'm on the road other guys with F-150s at a light stop and look with the xlts the Tech at the Ford dealership even asked me where I got them from

    • @randomsomeone1617
      @randomsomeone1617 Před 5 lety +1

      @@marksprouse6125 Yeah for $100 shipped for fogs, highs and lows (plus $22 plus shipping for deep gaskets to keep the headlights sealed and have some extra air around them to help with cooling) I feel it was money very well spent.
      Another $30 or so for the reverse lights and a 10 pack for the license plate/cab/3rd brake lights.
      It just makes the truck look so much more modern than before and gives you so much more visibility that its amazing.
      My only concern is the longevity of them all.
      Hopefully they last a long time.

    One thing I did to eliminate the water from filling up in the tail light. I drilled a very tiny hole at the bottom of the tail light to allow the water to drain out. It’s almost unnoticeable. The front drivers carpet was soaked.
    It turns out that the cabin pressure seal behind the left rear seat was leaking.
    The water filled up the rocker panel and wicked into the front carpet.
