The one thing I always find amazing about Maru is after each and every match when the camera focuses on him, he's cool as a cucumber. Unflappable regardless of a win or a loss. You might see him smile here and there, but he's pretty much the antithesis of the likes of say Byun or Creator where they wear their emotions for all to see.
@@deathya1 Creator's been playing just as long, the two of them have been in the same teams for many years as well. It's a difference in people and their disposition and how to handle stress, not so much their experience in profession.

And I think Creator is a bit of an exception.. most players who play for that long would eventually get over any nerves or mental things getting in their way.

DRG as another example you posted has played practically since the start of SC2 and he looks mainly emotionless after wins or losses, though these days he looks like he's playing with a disappointed frown on his face. Serral who some people are basically saying is the GOAT is known to get pissed off after a loss or at least look pretty angry but never truly tilted enough to turn into BM or the like, he is nowhere near as bad as Creator who can be seen practically abusing his equipment after a loss and throwing a tantrum. Byun who's been at the top of the world has accomplished a world title, something Maru has yet to achieve is quite an emotional guy and like Creator and Maru he's been at it for awhile, even came back from Korean Military service to be a pro-gamer and is working towards trying to return to championship form despite his wrist issues (which seem to no longer be as bad as a problem as they were last year). There are players who have played since the start, or others who are championship caliber players who can show quite a lot of emotion because of who they are and not so much how many years they've been a pro. I do agree about Creator though, he's more of an exception to anything else. I think it's frustration for all the years he's been put into the game and he got close by being in the finals of a GSL but was unable to pull it off getting the defining win of his career. He was even memed as the dishwasher of Jin Air Green Wings back in the day as he was nothing more than a practice partner B-Teamer at best in all those years he was in that KESPA team.

It's great to see SC2 really being played at its peak like this. We won't have Tastosis for long and maybe not GSL either. So seeing amazing games like this right now is really special.
@@Bronko_ Maybe. But Artosis will move to Canada soon. As for GSL it's gradually losing funding. It'll get to the point where the money won't be worth it for the players. Unless a saviour comes in to pick up the slack.

Tastosis talked about offering a vod cast like they're doing it for ASL (and continued so while Artosis being in Canada). I also don't know if it might be possible to do a remote cast with a few minutes delay - almost live, so to speak. A third option would be someone like Harstem, Demuslim or Rotterdam moving to Korea in order to cast together with State, if one of them is willing to.
Maru is just the Goat. Sure Rogue and others are great aswell, but apart from the tournament wins you have to consider how many semifinals and finals he reached. When he isn't in a very very rare slump he's basically a lock for top four.
When I saw him repairing his own VCEs so the would take 3 or 4 shots from the Banshee instead of 2, that's when I said "fuck's sake... this guy is gonna pull it off once again"
3 siege tanks right on maru's doorstep shelling his main and somehow he won.. that was crazy right around 10:15, pulling all the scvs to kill those tanks, that was the turning point
Yeah, I don’t know if anyone would have pulled that off except for Maru. This was one of the most insane games I’ve ever seen, but looked like business as usual for both guys as everything was happening.
Maru and Serral have the same style as of now. Just be cool-headed and hold on until the enemy makes a mistake. I think that the higher your skill level is, the more they'll default to be defensive and then win with superior experience and skill.

There were no shame in losing those Final, maybe except for Rogue just Roach all-in him every game. But Maru will get that G5L eventually, simply because nobody else is even close after Rogue went to the military.
People don't like to hear it, but terran ist just the hardest to pull off. There have been zero Top Terrans outside of Korea. And no, Clem isn't there yet.
@@Bronko_ Yeah, Maru play Terran as the best as one could play the race. Unfortunately Protoss and Zerg has higher ceiling under similar top players. There was nothing Maru could do if the Toss send out 3 type of flash damage plus Skytoss, nor he could anything against HydraLingBane composition that was keep hitting the base.
Maru wins so often that it starts to become boring. Even when he's behind I'm certain he'll come back and win. You literally have to destroy absolutely everything he has on the map and have the game tell you you've won, or else you're probably going to lose.

That's cause he's an elite veteran. He's been playing as a Pro as long as DRG has, and Maru is 6 years younger than DRG.
