I had known and loved Good News plus The Moon & Antarctica ever since my 2000s college days... but for some reason I hadnt heard Lonesome until like 2020 and now its my FAVORITE Modest Mouse album lol!! My pleasure =) I absolutely love Modest Mouse and their three album run from Lonesome Crowded West to Good News for People Who Love Bad News is just fantastic in my opinion. Do you have any other favorite rock bands or maybe rock time periods? I love the 80s myself and one of my favorite bands of all time is Nada Surf... if you haven't heard them I'd recommend checking out the album "Let Go"! @@themusicholecole The Mountain Goats have been putting some good stuff out over the past couple years, more folk than rock but Tallahassee is an excellent album. Also check out the songs Dark In Here and Up The Wolves. Even the older albums like All Hail West Texas, Zopilote Machine and Heretic Pride are pretty darn good. The song Buster Voodoo by Rodrigo y Gabriela is a Latin guitar tribute to Jimi Hendrix and it slaps. "The Keys" by Matt Duncan and "Expanding Anyway" and "Treble Chair" by Morning Teleportation are some great examples of the local music scene here in my home state of Kentucky. I obviously have to rep for a couple odd ball acts like Clown Core (see the song Computes), Trevor Moore (RIP), Gogol Bordello (see Wonderlust Kind or Start Wearing Purple) and The Dreadnoughts (see Polka Never Dies). AJJ and He's Dead Jim are some good folk punk groups. And then there's the classic stuff I love. Revolver is the best Beatles album and I will fight you over that. Badfinger is as amazing as it is tragic. The Violent Femmes are great. Letting Go and Let Me Roll It are my favorite Wings songs. There's Built to Spill and Dan Reeder (check out Clean Elvis). We Were Promised Jetpacks is a great Scottish group. Vulfpeck is super funky, if ya like that. I stopped doing discord but thanks for the invite, I just might join...
@@themusicholecole ooh! I'm so dumb, lol. Check out Iron Horse! They have a bluegrass cover album of Modest Mouse songs and it's amazing how great most of the songs adapt to a totally different genre.

Tbh, Modest Mouse has a few great songs on every album. They're my favorite band though, so I'm hella biased.
