    As you can tell from my video, I’m not a fan of University of Phoenix. Yes, it’s my opinion… but there are many employers with the same opinion. It’s not often I review a university negatively. I normally like to give pros and cons, but I strongly feel that there are much better programs out there.

    Who is Ryan Swayt?
    I was a 2 time college dropout working a $12 an hour job, with a family to support. I was desperate for a better future. Long story short, I found a better way. I earned an entire Bachelor’s Degree in just 9 months and found a career I love. This process has changed my life, now I want to teach others how to do the same.

    I have gotten a couple degrees from Phoenix and I liked it … from personal experience it is a phenomenal military university . If you aren’t military I could see it being a negative compared to others

    Hello Ryan, Thank you for this well detailed video! I have a few questions… I am currently enrolled at a University which I actually take courses at and live at during the Fall and Spring Semester. I am an upcoming Junior there and am currently on Summer break. Thankfully, I found out yesterday, 5/30/23, that my new job is I believe associated/partnered with the University of Phoenix and will be able to pay for 6 of my courses there. The plan is to be enrolled in those courses during this Summer once I get the final confirmation from my current university and get the list of courses I should take from my advisor very soon.
    If you could further assist me I would like to know, how is the process of transferring credits from this University like over to another University? Also, how long does it typically take to finish up a course? (especially since the course work there is at your own paste). I am a Criminal Justice Major and pretty soon will be adding the Communications Major to the list, so does the University of Phoenix provide a nice selection of classes to those majors or is this University dedicated to other specific majors? I hope to hear back from you soon, thanks!

    @ravenlynn7893 Před rokem +2

    Yes but they do offer you to take self paced classes through different partnered companies. I took 5 on a partnered site that transferred over in just a month along with the one I was taking through the university of phoenix

      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +1

      Yep. Most schools accept at least some credit through partnered companies. But there's always a limit for how much outside credit they'll accept. Then you're stuck within their system. There are still much better options than U of Phoenix. Unfortunately they don't have a great reputation.

    I’m going the UoPhx CBE MBA in June 23. I was thinking about that and it just doing one course per week. Thanks

      I highly recommend looking into other schools. You can finish faster, spend less, and graduate from a school with a better reputation.

      @@9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671 what other schools do you recommend?

  • @saywhaaaat
    @saywhaaaat Před rokem +2

    So how is the graduation rate the university’s fault? What online university would you recommend for a master’s degree?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +2

      If 2 schools offer the same programs, and 1 has a dropout rate that's 3 times higher... it almost always comes down to the school. Sometimes the structure of their degree programs is awful. Sometimes their quality of teachers is bad. And sometimes it's their exams (some schools load their exams with trick questions in an attempt to make them harder)...
      It's no different than 2 math teachers at the same school, teaching the same stuff... and 1 teacher sees students progress and the other sees their students fail. That almost always means that 1 of the teachers is better.
      As far as best school for a Master's Degree... It completely depends on what you're wanting to study, what your budget for tuition is, and how fast you want to graduate. If you're serious about getting the degree faster, shoot me an email and let me know what your goals are. I can help you find a faster path (ryan@9monthgrad.com).

    Can you do review on SNHU competency based education program plz!!!

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +1

      Some new news here... SNHU used to have CBE programs but they recently stopped allowing new students to enroll in their CBE programs. They've told me that they are in the process of "Re Structuring" their CBE programs. But they aren't sharing any info on what that means, or how long it will take. It's a bummer but we'll see... maybe they come up with something even better. Time will tell.

    What colleges offer competency base learning?

  • @rebeccareads8413
    @rebeccareads8413 Před rokem +1

    The one thing I will say is that most companies I have worked for do not take a University of Phoenix degree seriously. Their HR departments actually would throw away resumes for anybody with a Strayer University or University of Phoenix degree.

      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for backing me up. I wish more people knew this. The craziest part is, some of these awful schools cost more (and take longer) than better degrees from better schools.

    You can actually take 5 classes at a time with advisor permission during those 16 weeks

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +2

      Still... other schools let you finish a class a day if you have the knowledge. So whether it's 4 or 5 classes per 16 weeks... Yuck!

    I do not like their proctored exams idea and the term papers are difficult.

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +1

      Pretty much any school that allows you to test out has proctored exams. That's how they make sure you aren't cheating. But I there are definitely better schools than U of Phoenix.
