Mary J saaaang that from the depths of her soul!
In 1992 when I was visiting my sister and her daughter who was about 10 years old at the time, we were talking about singers we liked. I was mentioning Aretha, Patti, Chaka, Gladys, Tina, Etta, Natalie, Barbra, Karen, Shirley, etc. and my niece said that they were all old singers and asked if I like any modern singers. I said that I really like this new singer Mary J. Blige who just released an album called What's the 411? which I had just bought a few days earlier. My niece ran into her bedroom and came back out with the CD of What's the 411? that she had just gotten too. We listened to the whole CD together, and that's a great memory of one of the wonderful bonding moments I had with my niece when she was growing up.

Thank you so much friend for your amazing reaction. I knew you would love it. And let’s get to how you broke it down about her vocals, you nailed it. So what if she is not technical. Her soul and emotion overrides that and the connection she has with the audience is what makes her great. Mary never sings one way. She is so versatile. That’s why she is the only female singer with Grammys in Pop, hip hop, r&b, soul, gospel. She is one of the greatest vocalist of all time and anyone that tries to deny it is clearly tone deaf and don’t know anything about singing let alone Mary. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your new journey in school and wish you the best! Another reaction I would love to see is her singing “I Am” on Ellen.

Thank you so much friend. Yes. I’ve been doing a lot of schooling right now. Learning new things and tips for my career and channel. I’m definitely coming back soon. But, Mary!!! Let me tell you. I have been an actual fan of Mary since 1992. Yes. I was a kid but, Mary rocked our world. I have always heard the chatter and comparisons vocally to Whitney and Mariah. But, I never thought about that because Mary’s voice was such powerful and true. It’s a gift to be able to sing. However, it’s the efforts and delivery that makes you a legend. Nobody can tell me nothing about Mary. 💯🙌🏿
