1973-74 Television Season 50th Anniversary: The Partridge Family (review)

We continue our look back at the television season of the fall of 1973 to the spring of 1974. As spring comes to a television season, so comes the time to say goodbye to many of the successful series that are coming to the end of the road.
Fifty years ago on March 23, 1974, The Partridge Family television series came to a close. The show had a terrific run, establishing itself as a key component to the ABC network television lineup (and Tiger Best fan magazines) for the first half of the 1970s.
We pay tribute to the show, cast and crew today. The show launched the careers of the young cast, including David Cassidy, Susan Dey and Danny Bonaduce (we hope your health is better Danny) and made Shirley Jones every bit as successful on television as she had been in feature films and musicals.
We thank them all for creating a legendary television series.

By the 1973-74 season, The Partridge Family had run its course. ABC pretty much killed it off by changing its timeslot so it had to compete against All in the Family.
