Miriam is the kind of lady I would end up having a ten minute conversation with at a supermarket checkout
Tere Silas Exactly ! 😂
Tere Silas chatting to her in Waitrose would be so good.
Totally.
And if your lucky she will pull you off.
She's so blatantly honest that if anyone of you peasants tried to talk to her at Waitrose, she would probably say something in the way of '' can you move and stop talking please I'm trying to shop '' but obviously more rude and witty haha.
And I was MARVELOUS in it.
Emma Domenech 😂😂
She was! Granny Mingus
I wish I was that confident
I love how she laughs like a little kid who knows she's being naughty but cute at the same time after she says "the main thing was that Winona wasn't nominated"
Such an impish smile! Love it!!
BaeMaejor I agree, I love how honest and matter of fact she is - love people like that who are truly authentic.
Yes, so cute!)
@@greenkitty82 Well, it's okay for her since she's a public person and it's quite entertaining, and she's very witty, and there's also sweetness about her, so she doesn't come off as mean or rude... But in everyday life it would become annoying really fast, and in most situations it would be rude and obnoxious. Also, ''authentic'' is such a fake overused word, what does it REALLY mean? People inject it into every comment, just to sound...smarter or ''cooler''.... In fact, it's CRINGE af
Yes, about as far from brutal honesty as Shirley Temple, isn't it? I'm waiting for her to admit she's never used public health care in her life next time she goes campaigning for the NHS. That would be real honesty but I think I've got a long wait ahead of me ...
Her comedic timing is impeccable.
I reckon she just talks like that naturally... british normally do that 😂
She may be being totally serious. Lol
Absolutely even the king of one liners was put in his place, quite a woman, genius of her time and eloquent too, magic
And her comic timing? Or is that the same thing?
This woman is a riot.
pussy riot?
@@20shourya well she is gay
SO WHAT. WHO THE HELL CARES?
And?
I don't think the people replying to this comment know that "riot" is a compliment, not an insult.
Who'd have thought Professor Sprout was such a legend behind the scenes.
Exactly! She's just as awesome as Sprout ought to be. It would be amazing to sit at that couch and perhaps mention casually that I am a Hufflepuff - and a fan since I learned how to talk.
@Alexandra McLean you mean except for DADA teachers. they really got them wrong 🤣
Everyone.
who would have thought grown-ass people STILL confuse actors with their characters...
@@anna_caps You realize she is NOT her character? You realize that she does not have to have anything in common with her character, it's literally just another job for her. Maybe she doesn't even care about Hogwarts stuff and wouldn't want to listen to your chatting?
Miriam should be on TV more often. She's so charming and British.
+Mark Griffiths I love that you put charming and British separately, even though all the British people I've ever met are very charming :)
+FearlessStar1000 One has no relation to the other :)
um? charming and British? she is British? you're saying British like it's some sort of trait you can acquire?
I'm British and i know plenty of BRITISH people who are very far from charming or funny or both
She's not very British at all. Brits don't tend to be this frank.
She actually COMPLIMENTED Wynona by elevating her to the main category and still successfully did her grumpy sctick! Awesome humor! I't not about the honesty ff sake...It's about her brilliant sense of humor!
It was not a real compliment. Wynona belonged to the main cast of the movie. So of course they had to nominate her as best actress and not for the supporting category.
Like when you're an up and coming stand up and, just before you're about to go in a new, slightly bigger venue, a big shot comic swoops in and takes over the slots.
'f off back to your stadium gigs, let me have my space!'
It was NOT a compliment ffs...Wynona WAS the lead aka the main category, sweetie, noone was ''elevating'' her to anything... She trully, honestly was dissing Wynona, listen once again.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Being the lead doesn't mean you will necessarily be in the leading actor category. That was the case in The Danish Girl where Vikander was in best supporting category despite having more air time than Redmayne.
Yes, I think Ms. Margolyes remarks about Winona are all meant in good fun. She's so sharp and quick. Very funny.
John Andert if she doesn't like someone they would soon know she isn't shy about it and nor does she care to offend.
Absolutely. She knows perfectly well that Ryder wouldn't have been the one to decide what category she's nominated in.
Yes, it's a joke
@@WalterLiddy it depends. The studios often have a say in it.
@John Andert - I love Miriam Margolyes and she is a fine actress. However, back even when this movie came out, the category one was nominated in was often determined by those involved in the film. They would submit the clips they wanted used for the category they felt appropriate or just wanted it to be so for the sake of the movie's promotion. Winona Ryder had a clear lead role in this film. If they wanted to be sure both she and Michelle Pfeiffer got viable nominations to jack-up the creds of the film, they would have entered Ryder among the nominations for Best Supporting category, so both would have a chance to win. And it was wrong to do because Miriam Margolyes likely would have won in the Best Supporting slot, even if nominated up against Winona.
Miriam should have her own chat show.
Amanda A
All she would chat about is herself
Or a podcast
@@nolaanderson8770 And any guests that come on she wouldn't have a clue who they are!
Nah. Too much circulation makes the price go down. It's better to have her as a guest on others.
She's right about The Social Network. A well acted movie about a bunch of people not worth knowing.
Some of whom are now the most powerful people on the planet...
i absolutely hated that film lol
mary x why?
I actually saw that movie many times and absolutely loved it. I just thought the story was really interesting and the soundtrack is beautiful.
@@downtown82 Completly agree. I really like the feel you get from the movie. It is pretty straight forward without over dramatization like many action movies and dramas
This is the definition of "Zero fucks given"
"Miriam: To you, almost nothing!" Clever and humble.
OMG I could watch her all day
And she laugh like a little girl!so cute :)
This woman could diss me to my face and I'd be smiling like and idiot and still thank her and give her a hug.
"It was a very good film, called The Age of Innocence, and I was maaarvelous in it." God Bless Miriam!
Miriam needs to be made a Dame already. she's incredibly funny and frank. best chat show guest ever.
Supposedly the queen doesn’t like her 🤷🏻♀️
@@EJartistry Welp, she's gone now so ....
She literally said the most hufflepuff statement ever
Graham’s face expression and voice when he asks: is this true, Myriam? 😂😂😂😂
Stanley's reaction at 0:33 at Miriam's sudden change of tune 😭😭😭😭
did anyone get Jimmy Carrs joke about Winona Ryder? "she STOLE your oscar nomination?"
@Gbomb31 I think it has to do with how winona was caught shop lifting way back when.
@@mandymerlin1649 awww poor Winona. She made one mistake
thank you, i was looking for that one.
I would hear her talk about herself for days! ❤️
there is actually a great interview with her about her childhood, her parents and so on.....she speaks beautifully, she´s funny and her English is just lovely..... I enjoyed it very much.....recommend :)
She's so disarmingly honest. Love her.
I could not agree more about the Social Network.. she is so right. She is priceless....
Yes she is! It was well done though, because I hated all of those guys too!
I didn't like it either.
Could she be my grandma?! lol! She is too funny.
funny if you are not at the butt end of her jokes!!!!
@Jim McCracken No as I am not a caucasian...but looks like you were!!!
duh!?!?
I feel like she's so cheeky and charming even Winona Ryder would be laughing
Miriam is one of my favourite people to watch, and she's wickedly funny on talk shows. Love her ❤️
Miriam is a treasure and must be protected! 💖
She's lovely, literally honest.
We need more people like her as heads of state and news anchors. She says what things really are like and doesn't give a damn if others like it.
Miriam, Robbie Williams and Ricky Gervais on at the same time. I would cry laughing.
mgoodwi1 nah
mgoodwi1 I agree with Miriam and Ricky I never thought Robin Williams was funny.
Robbie douchebag williams? Bore off you stroppy tart!
that would be a little too much lol
Ernestine - Robbie Williams
I love this lady. She is intelligent, witty and truthful and I love watching her!
As someone who watches both British and American TV chat shows, I am shocked at how much more careless and daring the British people are. Maybe it's just my kind of humor. Come to think of it, do you imagine Ellen, Fallon or even Conan randomly saying "Rumor has it Kim's tits got stuck at the entrance"? And even more so, can you imagine such a joke not being "scandalous" and not make news? Lol. Anyway, could any of you recommend me some great British TV programs? Because Graham is on only once a week. Maybe that's one of the reasons why conversations are quality material and the host is always sharp and witty.
Alan Carr?
+Imbra Kim Give QI a try!
+Anna Faber QI is definitely a good one!
I love Would I Lie to You
Watch the Graham Norton episode where Michele Pfeiffer nearly swears
‘The King’s Speech’
Really was a brilliant film😌❤️.
This women is hilarious
Love this lady she is like me..my sense of humor..
Miriam is just so adorable. And it's hard to top her stories.
Graham loves having Miriam on, she is a great laugh though😂😂
I love this woman!!!
She is just incredibly blunt
She is so brilliant! Love her! xo
Please check out my channel :) xo
She is so fucking funny
This woman has the guts to say things we usually keep to ourselves cause we scared 👏👏absolute star she is.
The way she says 'absolute arsehooles' is hilarious! :D
I absolutely adore Miriam Margolyes and I always will. 🖤 💛 🖤 💛
I love Miriam now.
She is the queen of the world
we need her in an episode with Bill Murray!!!
@littlesmew That is sooooo off the mark. Bill Murray is a gem and a lovely guy.
@@kimwexler9393 Bill Murray usted to beat His wife. He's awful
I was marvelous, I can not get enough of this woman!LOVE her.
Miriam Margoyles is a special kind of marvellous
I feel like that a person can cuss all they like on British TV, which is just absolutely amazing
Gosh she is Golden.
I LOVE Miriam lol
Miriam and Jimmy need to do a show together.
Miriam is one of the funniest guests to ever grace that couch.
Yeah I love love Winona Ryder
I met Miriam Margolyes earlier this year. She is a delightful and lovely person.
God this show is so charming
I absolutely ADORE Miriam Margolyes! Has she ever written a book?? If not, she 100% needs to! Miriam is just a beautifully honest human. Bless her little cotton socks!
She did now 😂
@@charliemaccormac7866 And it's fantastic!
How can you not love Miriam?!
She's the best kind of broad.
omg.... Miriam and Joan Rivers are one of the very few women who can be so funny and awesome talking about well...almost anything. She is so hilarious and so special
BBC, as a Canadian I loved you as a small child we would watch children shows and Coronation street on the CBC which was 1 of our 2 channels. (P.S) I'm only 33. I love that now I can see more and feel comfortable and identify with the people I love, the accents I know from my mother and grandparents. Thank you with fond memories and appreciation -Caz from Canada.
I love her.
When I’m in a bad mood I like just like to come here and see Mirian and she changes to HAPPY MOOD!
It’s like me Miriamcide ❤️
Did some research on Miriam's swear claim. Well, aside from two other claims in 1956 and 1959, she did indeed go on University Challenge in 1963. Kenneth Tynan (regarded as the first person to swear) did his swearing in 1965. You could argue, though, that it wasn't really the first swear because it was bleeped out. So, it was said, but not heard. She does have a better claim than Tynan. His was just more infamous due to the censorship laws and drama that followed his occasion.
Kirstin Scott hers was bleeped out too. weren't you watching?
I was clearly referring to Miriam's claim in regards to the bleeping.
Kirstin Scott oh! Okay, sorry. Got confused
Miriam needs to be guested more on Graham or I'm missing out on her guestings. She's hilarious and lovely.
i love how honest she is
I love Miriam.
I can still picture her as the Cadbury Caramel Bunny, sexiest voice ever.
I LOVE HER!
Love her and love our British TV! Badmouth and swear all you like!
i LOVE her
She is it's hysterical. I don't know where I've been because I've never heard of her.
Miriam is as mad as a box of frogs.
*****
I literally have no idea what you're talking about.
LOVE LOVE LOVE HER
She is seriously the most perfect talk show guest.
If you think this is funny watch her interview, [again on Graham Norton] with Will i am. Hysterical.
One of the all time best...the two of them danced around, avoiding each other at first then by the end, they were best buddies and it was a full on mutual love fest.
CZcams randomly recommended her compilation to me and I absolutely love her, she's so funny and adorable.
"to you, almost nothing" got me....
Jimmy could have put this as a tax write off
Oh I loooooove this woman
How have I been sleeping on this show. It's so laid back and funny. The questions that graham asks are funny and not at all awkward. My God. I've been showing shit American late night shows down my throat because it's "hollywood". People on this show seems genuinely relaxed and enjoying themselves and not like they have to be their for promotions.
She really was great in ‘The Age of Innocence’; she played the role of Granny Manson Mingotts perfectly. Her accent was flawless; perfect New York upper class socialite. I didn’t realise she was British until years years later.
I love Miriam due to the Graham Norton show! She’s so funny!
i love how Graham says: "is it true Miriam? ))))"
I'd love to have Miriam Margoyles as a film reviewer.
Shes such a treasure. Blunt. Love her x
What a breath of fresh air!
She's great value on a chat show. I love her for saying she was "still juicy" on the Richard and Judy show. Go Miriam.
Shes my new favourite person
She is just brilliant!
I love her so much, she reminds me of my mum. Her sence of humour is spot on!
thank you for posting this! I am mainly familiar with Miriam Margolyes as Phryne Fisher's Aunt Prudence. I didn't know she was such a wonderful raconteur! She says what she thinks and lets the devil take the hindmost. I have to love anyone who hates The Social Network!
She is amazing
Love, love, love Myriam Margolis !!
God I love her!! She’s hilarious!!
Miriam rocks. :)
Miriam M. Is great!! I've never heard anyone speak so frankly on TV.
Ah I love Miriam so much!
Stanley Tucci seemes sort of shocked by Miriam ;)
I love Miriam's story about "air swearing" on University Challenge. I remember Julie Walter's character in "Educating Rita" saying to Michael Caine's character that it is the upper class who swear and the masses not understanding. It is all "F....ing this" and "F....ing that!" ;D
I love this woman! I admire her feistiness
