    Getting a 3d printer solely to customize my g305. Even without the printer I was able to cut it down to 79g by cutting out bottom plastic and triple A plus tin foil. Bottom plastic was around 6 grams of it

    I recently made a post on Reddit about how the G305 can handle 4v from a lipo just fine so you can make it even lighter by ditching the extra pcbs and keeping just the TP4056 module

    Very informative, thanks a bunch for sharing! Nowadays it's "paying premium for a premium mouse or getting a 3D printer for the difference." For me it's mostly about size, i need bulkier mice for big hands with palm grip - and this vid is a great resource. Thanks for taking us along! Now we only need better recycling options for filaments...

      i 100% guarantee logitech did not intentionally increase the weight of the g305 for "stability". in fact the opposite is more common, lighter mice are far more popular and available then ever right now

      @@vSolarz alot of the weight loss comes from removing the parts that makes them rigid in this case, have you seen the mod videos? I'd imagine adding holes reduces rigidity too. This particular mod video also shows the removal of thw battery enclosure and going with a taped rechargeable lithium instead

    you should try doing acetone smoothing on the 2d parts, makes them super smooth and slightly stronger too

      I printed mine from PLA. Therefore i did not try to use acetone, because it only works on ABS.

    I've done the exact same shell and mod from AliExpress a few months ago.it's funny I've never found one on CZcams until now, I've been looking for it before I tried it but I couldn't find anything.

    Place the charging protection board at the charger source and also cut off excess cable lengths, to reduce more 5-10 grams

    Cool project, I want to do something similar, I LOVE the small size of the G300S but its internal guts are aged, I want to 3d print the small-sized G300S shell but put the latest 16000 DPI sensor in it etc.

    you can also overdo it lol whether 85 grams or 75 grams or 65 grams they notice from a certain point anyway no longer. and too light is also not good because your Aim can also become spongy thereby. because they have little resistor. so it is not for all equally good to have little weight. Everything Individually!

    Everything but the mechanics part of this is 3d built i can tell i just think he used a lighter to smooth it and a saughterer to saughter the wires and circuits i think i said that right and the bottom a different material or same idk i just know its not all 3d made its just the casing is if you want a custom 3d casing make one its not hard to just make it even if you do make one

    this was cool but i think your projects has so much more potential, the idea of having a usb rechargeable was cool but the plastic of the shell needs some improvement

    I think the best thing from this mod for me is lower weight of mouse and also micro usb charging. For now for my g305 wireless i made only 3d printed lighter battery cover, but I think in future I will add micro usb port for charging.

    Hi i have a question. So for the step down, we need to set the step down board until the Voltage is around 1.5V?
    And Did you make some tweaks/Edit on the 3d model before printing? like adding the usb port hole for the top and base on the bottom?

      PLA is actually a lot stronger then it looks it all depends on the infill people seem to use very little infill % when it comes to making lightweight mice. also i wouldn't really recommend making a full mice out of 3d print they look scuffed for both my g305 i only printed battery pack and bottom and it feels just as strong as the originals. at 65 grams

      It's not that strong, I know, but it's strong enough. Also, the clear lacquer I sprayed it with in the end made it quite resistant to scratches, and it gave it a nice feel.

      @@Ananords you might want to experiment with a lower density plastic like abs and use acetone smoothing if you want to cut down the weight even more

    I really want to order the air58 print from piranha. Do you think these mice can last or is the durability not there yet?
    Also is there a way to treat the pcb so dirt and sweat that gets in the holes doesn't damage it. Or is that not too much of a concern?

    The shell file on Thingserve is not the same as yours cause it hase no holes in it = more weight... Is it possible that you can send me the file with the holes?

      @@Ananords that's good for me. I keep accidentally pressing them. Also I would use acetone or epoxy to smooth out the plastic if its abs. edit can you send me a link to the 3d files.

      @@sublimelime6354 Honestly I wouldn't smooth it. The 3d print layers give really nice grip, especially on the mouse buttons. Just make sure to get a good print and it will look and feel awesome.

    easier to add 50 bucks and buy something like pulsar x2 mini and get 52g with factory level quality. this is totally not applicable for people who doesn't own 3d printer, cause ordering these + g305 cost will end you the same amount of money.

      @@Ananords Is it really 58 grams with the battery and everything? What did you use to measure that? Have you learned any new and cheaper ways to create the same low weight mouse from a G305? Sorry about the many questions, but I just want to do this myself somehow without having to spend more than like 20€ or with the few basic tools that I already have :D

      I used a digital scale to weigh it when it was finished:) I don't see how it would be possible without a 3d printer, or by ordering the printed parts. You can drill holes in it, but that wouldn't look good. If it is just the weight savings you are after, try using a rechargable AAA battery instead.

    The edges of the model aren't sharp. There are particles left as the 3D printer didn't manage to print the model %100 soft and this makes the mouse look like a product from a lousy brand.

      My 305 is 62g without the battery, but 80g with an aaa adapted battery.
      I would love the 62g you have with the battery..
