Hey Mark how is the Cruise ship plans going?
Nice very intelligent man who knew what he wanted in life ,and how to get it
Very interesting life story
@@waterheaterservices.. nice story
My grandfather came to the Philippines in 1939 fall in love with my grandmother (a dentist) got out of the US Army core Engineer and worked in the US owned construction company. He was a prisoner of war during WWII. Because my grandmother was a dentist she was able to visit my grandfather. War experiences was never talked about or discuss. My grandfather was tortured for refusing to build airfield and permanently damaged his right leg. My Grandfather loves the Philippines. He was able to give us a good life in the Philippines.
I usually tell all my Expat friends. My reason was my grandfather from America made a good life in the Philippines. To let all of you Expat know that it is not impossible to start a life in the Philippines. 🇵🇭❤️
@@expatjourneys8962 Good luck to you. Great story. Hope you are having a good life in whatever country.
The longer Jim spoke, the younger he got. I could listen to him for hours. Great interview!
A big salute to that man for loving the Phil's.
This guy was lucky to go back and forth between San Diego and the Philippines from 1965-75. This is a nice interview thank you both for contributing
So amused with this interview as Jim has lived here in the country for a long time. His naval (military) background is rich in experience despite his medical condition and disability. Truly admire his determination in life to continue working amidst the various challenges. So interesting to hear his venture in real estate industry, logistics and so many other ventures. He's really a smart man, never stops delving into more productive ways to do business. Amazing guy!
Wow, what a guy and what a story. I would buy and read his memoirs for sure. Wishing him good health for many more years to come.
Mark I have to admire this man so knowledgeable..He is around my age so I can relate to him he has had a good life and i hope he enjoys many more years 👍👍
This guy has had an amazing past. I was really impressed when he mentioned he was also an RN Psych... A feat not easily obtained! He should be interviewed again.
" if you take one to the States hire your lawyer first"😂..... I would like to hear more about those stories from him. Good interview.
In Pampanga I have heard about American servicemen who stayed when Clark air base was closed.
Correct ka diyan kabayan!
As a medically retired navy vet in their 30s this guys story gives me home
What a great guy, reminds me of my dad never stops thinking or working and he’s 80.
This man is amazing! What a memory! What a life! I hope we hear more from him.
I had a friend who died at 52 from complications caused by agent orange. Very serious stuff that affected millions of our enlisted.
what a great story ! This one impressed me and taught me alot. great guy to interview and very full of experience and knowledge. great job.
Wow,I listen and listen to this interview very well.Such an amazing man.Have a very sharp memory. He remembered details on what's happening in his life.Mabuhay ,Sir!
Stay safe and God bless everyone 💕🙏
Wow, Jim ... it's quite a long love relationship between you and the Philippines. More loving years ahead.
I can’t believe that I already finish watching the whole video. It feels like it was so short. I enjoy listening to his story bcoz he haven’t able to witness and experience what it feels like and how Philippines look like then. The country wasn’t that much progressive but we’re thankful of its improvements from all those years up to this day. I hope it will continue to improve.
I’d like to hear about the 4 ex wives…very interesting guy…hope there’s a part 2
If people listen to your interviews, it's very educational about life in the PI and retirement in in the U.S.
I think Mr Bud Brown was also assigned in communications center in San antonio, Zambales. I bet he did!!
Hi Mark, you have interviewed some very astute gentlemen on your channel from time to time. Jim, is one of them, i'm amazed at Jim's excellent memory for detail going way back and recent activity. I'm 82yo on May 30, and from Jim's Navy service, i'm picking he is up there in my age group. I think Jim is a good man with a good brain. I'm impressed, and, one day would look forward to meeting Jim in person when i return to Cebu permanently in a couple of short years. Bob. Veteran Soldier. NZ.
Watching these interviews I'm seeing a correlation between those that followed their passion making their own way and high level of vitality. Fascinating really.
he said he was 75
@@cosmo1eleven855 Yes, i wrote the comment before the interview concluded.
Maybe Jim can help the man on Pauls video. He surely needs help
got to admire his energy
Great Story, I always enjoy a story that starts with the Navy brought me to the Philippines because that was how I got there the first time in 72.
Amazing inspirational Story . Could probably do a book.
Wow, great interview!
PS. The first book this guy should get self published is HIS LIFE STORY, and this great interview proves it! The final chapter should be: "Why you should hire a lawyer First before bringing Pinay Wife to America."
Excellent! I found this very interesting.
An interesting story. I was a Radioman in the Philippines in 1970-71. After then I made many WESTPAC cruises with port visits to Subic Bay until 1991.
My wife has fond memories of the Navy communications station there in San Antonio. She grew up just down the road in San Narciso in the 60s. Her mother was the local ombudsman for the community to the base. They would have many of the officers, including the CO, over for meals at their home. It is now the main training facility for the Philippine Navy. When we ride the Victory Liner back from Olongapo and see the base we know we are close to home.
Do street venders still sell the pork on sticks with a bbq/hot sauce? I loved the other staple of dried squid on a stick and sprinkled with that same sauce.
She might remember the Commanding Officer that was there for a few years. He was known as Frantic Frank Romanick (spelling not correct) He was there in the 60’s. Very involved in the People to People program and loved to paint school houses. Most battleship gray.
@@hoobeydoobey1267 We were just there at a beach festival and there were plenty of vendors selling the barbecue pork sticks.
What a great interview, thanks..
That was the best interview . I loved it. Thank you
What an interesting man. Thank you Sir.
What a fascinating story Jim, your life is certainly not boring. I hope you find whatever iy is you're looking for in the Philippines.
Wow! Since the 60s.
Love it! Ready for part 2!
That was a very interesting interview. It seemed to have gotten cut off rather abruptly though. He was a talker but very interesting. I hope you can track him down again, I’ll bet he’s got stories for days. 4 Ex’s. I love it. I’ll bet he’s looking for number 5 now. Anyway mark. Great interview!
Yeah, he knows where many dead bodies are buried
Won’t be no number 5. I’m only separated and leaving it that way as protection against another one.
Mark, Great interview! All your interviews are good, some better than others. This interview with Jim was very interesting. People are asking for a part 2 with Jim. I hope to see it.
Great interview and a great story.👍👍👍
Absolutely Awesome Video With Jim I Loved it So Much
Good informative video and Jim is great, a character.
Wow Jim have a very interesting life. One never gets bored from listening to his stories. Very good interview.

Great interview. Jim should write the first book and publish it.
That was a very interesting interview.
Wow. Great stuff. Jim is a cool dude. We sure could use more people like him.
That was fantastic, thanks
This guy really has a lot of energy, and continues to love to work. That being said I'll bet there's more to this story than meets the eye. Could be fodder for another future interview,:) Interesting.
Great interview Champ. Keep M coming
He had a STEMI (ST Elevated Myocardial Infarction), which is the most deadliest form of heart attack, which I had myself in 2017. That's why it is nicknamed "The Widowmaker." Anyhoo, we are both survivors and good to see you still looking sprite sir! Retired Navy myself and was stationed at NAS Cubi Point from 1990 until we all closed down shop in 1992. Currently riding out a few more years with the Culinary Union here in Vegas and retire again and chase the sunset back to the Pee Eye.
wish you well, my brother is retired Navy, had a good career and retired in Orlando
Hi Mark. Another Good One! Jim Is Very Interesting.. Thank You For All The Videos!

Thanks! I so enjoyed listening to this man. Please do a 2nd interview later too. He has more untold stories.
Great interview
I enjoyed from Leyte.
I like this interview ...very interesting
Jim has an interesting story. Great interview!
Hi Mark, Very interesting interview.
Awesome story AGAIN!
A really great interview. I guess these Filipino author's works would be published in English rather than Tagalog? Would love to hear the story about his 4 marriages! 😮
They will be published in any language we think they will sell. But yes initially all American English.
Great interview. Super impressive guy. I enjoyed some of his perspectives on PH. I was here first in 72, lived three years 1974 -82 in bits, then back most years. Here permanently since 2006 (except one year in Afghanistan). Luckily not 4 wives, but one since 74. She became a senior Navy civilian in Hawaii. I'd never trade in a GI (Genuine Ilocana) wife. I'd love to hear more from Jim. Thanks
I married my GI wife back in '74 also. She is still my mahal, and hopefully soon we'll be able to spend about four to five months a year in Zambales. Now it is just about a month at a time before we have to come back home.
.
@@milagrossolis6473 A man of few words😁
Good luck G.I. Joe's!
i'm still amazed why a lot of people from ilocos like to live in hawaii ..... it's no wonder, why marcos sr. picked hawaii when he was exiled being from ilocos ...... it's like they're the filipino spam in hawaii ..... 😂🤣😂🤣-🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 ...

This guy has a great story and is very wise.
An amazing story.
Thanks for the great storey about your life. Enjoy.
Glad you enjoyed it.
What caught my attention is when he mentioned being from Texas in the beginning , I'm from Texas. I listened to the entire video and enjoyed it. Im one of your silent subs.
this man has done so much, lived well, and keeps on going
Wow!!!
This guy is unbelievable!! 😲😲😲
Great interview!! 👍
Real Interesting Chap Paul - lotsa of CanDo Attitude there ..
You Should have Had a Lot More Interesting Questions Ready To Ask him so we can All Learn from Guys Who have done so much ..
Very cool my Dad was there in WW2 he told me many stories of Philippines back then!
I use to live in San Diego, too - South Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, and the Birdrock area of La Jolla.
REALLY good INTERVIEW! Stay safe JIM !!
Thank you for watching
Cool guy - what a life, and he is still making plans for future ventures!
Wow! What an amazing life/career one man had! My 1st job out of electronics school in the mid-'80s was for a defense contractor and I worked on a couple different RADAR indicators, a tank angle sensor, and a couple F16 instruments. The DoD stuff is usually many years behind current commercial-consumer products, but it's also usually built to last and be repairable. If there were manuals for the equipment, those younger techs he mentioned should have been alright to work on it. Maybe not. LOL
this is one smart man
good story thank you for your service SIR
You’re very welcome
Intrest rates have shot up and house prices are in a bubble
I bet this guy has heard of the names of Oasis and the Swagman, Holy City Zoo, Fire Empire, Silver Dollar Saloon so on so forth of Angeles City
I have. And I used their services. There was also a different club that was called, "The third eye", that I used to enjoy.
And the Double Sue’s, LBFM’s, the Flaming, Shags, way too many to remember.
Hey Mark I thought it was poignant your first ad that I watched before your video here was an ad from Norwegian Cruise lines it was so appropriate I was chuckling..... 😎✌🏻😆😂🤣🇺🇸
Your videos have helped me reach over $180,000 in trading by age 23! Thanks Every Man Has a Story Keep the videos coming. 👍🏽
Congrats ! I started right before covid when the recession hit. I held those stocks and made a killing. I bought dividend stocks and made a lot during covid.
I'm convinced that the big investors and analysts are trying to scare us to keep us poor and ignorant to the market.. because its steady doing good after all the jobless and market crash talks
Congrats and wishing you the best .
The one effective technique I use is staying in touch with a financial coach for guidance, it might sound basic or generic, but getting in touch with a financial adviser was how I was able to outperform the market during the pandemic and raise a profit of roughly $40k
@kim sun When I was 20 ,but you need a finance Pro if you don’t want to loose and if you want to be more successful.
This was a great video, and I think Jim was very interesting. His career is great. Reminds me of mine in some ways. I live in the Philippines after visiting here for 9 years. I'm now a permanent resident and rent a house in Cebu to stay flexible. I served in the US Army in the 1970s (82nd Airborne Div.), retired twice from the US Air Force in 1998 and 2005 working on development and production of our most advance and complex nuclear and aerospace weapon systems, was a defense contractor for a number of years doing the same, then hired by the Department of Defense in 2005 working as a Senior Program Manger and other functions for another 15 years, retiring for the 3rd time in Dec 2020 with 43 years of service. I was also an International Politico-Military Affairs Officer for the Air Force and Pentagon, Professor of Government and National Security Affairs at the U.S. Air Force Academy when I completed my Ph.D., and professor of Defense & Aerospace Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I had many other nuclear and conventional assignments. I'm not bored yet, I've been writing, staying connected with DoD, and trying to relax. I really need a vacation.
This is your best story.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching
