- I spend 24 hours camping with former Royal Marine Nick Goldsmith. Nick teaches some Bushcraft Skills and Survival Tips that he has tried and tested out in the field. We spend the night in a bivvy bag on the forest floor and Nick gives us a tour of his bushcraft camp and off grid cabin.

Thankyou so very much mate ,
It was a genuine pleasure to host you at the Hidden Valley Bushcraft (camp 1) .
Looking forward to the next outing towards the end of the year 🥶😝
🤝
Nick
🤝
The pleasure was mine Nick! I hope everyone heads your way and gives you and your channel the exposure it deserved 👊🏻
@@TAOutdoors Cheers Mike 🍻
Subbed, always liked HVB, great chap.. Great colab, really enjoyed this one👍
Nice to see you back on YT Nick. Best wishes to you and your family. ATB Russ 😊👍
NICK!! Now this is a collab, gents!!
🎉
Just need to get Ryan forrest in now ultimate UK trio
Oh man. I miss Nick. These two guys combined and ive learnt soooo much.
NICK IS BACK!! Seriously, I've missed him and I'm so glad to see him wherever I can get him
Terrific to see Nick again, what an incredible instructor and even nicer guy. The collaboration I think every bushcraft enthusiast was looking for!
🎉
Great to see Nick back online! Top bloke.
Merci
Yes, great to see Nick on CZcams again. Great video.
He’s a top guy!
Great to see the Collab been missing hidden valley, great channel 👍
Top bloke from Lympstone 😉
It was a pleasure filming with Nick. He really is a sound guy.
@@TAOutdoors his crusader cup cooking change my life 😂
Fantastic to see nick again. You had such an impact via your videos nick, Please consider doing more occasionally, even if just very occasionally.
Impressive chap. During my brief Royal Navy career 35 years ago I worked with a fair few Royals and their quiet but competent "can do" attitude was always inspiring to an eighteen year old lad. I will have to investigate both yours and his channels.
🎉
i have now learnt your upload schedule
Its great to see Nick back on YT again. Looking forward to Hidden Valley videos again!
Wow. You have just made my day. I've missed Nick and loved following him on his channel. Finding out he's started a new one is fantastic. Nick, it would be amazing to see/hear you at the next Bushcraft Show next May. Great to see Nick again.
Great video.
New channel ?
Found it
Two top blokes!
What a guy! Such a natural teacher. Very impressive setup
Cheers
Nice to see Nick back, even for a one off,Hidden valley bushcraft was my must watch every Sunday.
Mike, I believe this is the best video you have produced, I have learned so much from this, better ways of doing things
Yes! Love both of your channels. Love to see this!
Thanks
The man the myth the legend, glad to see him again. Appreciate you guys!
🤝
Very happy to see the whittling part. My grandad learnt to whittle on quiet nights during his time in the forces. Started with spoons. Many years later in his retirement he had gotten so good that people would beg him to make things. He never took any money because he loved doing it. His favorite thing to make was smoking pipes.
Really good to see you on CZcams again Nick. Really miss your videos - they were always so informative. Your book is on my Christmas wishlist. Take care.
Thank you Mike. This was a great video & a brilliant collaboration with Nick. You 2 guys epitomise everything with the great outdoors, bushcraft & nature. Hopefully see some more in the future 👍
I love it when you get these lads you know to add value to the channel. What a show, loved it all. Nick is a proper bloody hero on so many levels.
Excellent to see Nick back on my screen. I've learned so many practical skills and hacks about outdoor living from watching very informative and clear videos from both these guys. I'm so glad Nick is feeling better. I was only thinking of him last week when I was out in the woods. Brilliant to see you both out together. Thank you.
Watching nick on hidden valley bush craft encouraged me to change some of my camping gear like the crusader Cup. I l Love that cup!
Yes chef !
Ah it’s good to see Nick again. I only discovered his channel a few months before he stopped. That was a great watch and as always you pick up vital tips
Good to see two of my favourite bushcrafters working together.
👍😎
Thanks! Miss Nick, too, on CZcams. Understand his important work with warriors projects. ❤
Excellent video; absolute gold dust. I have missed Nick's channel but good to hear there's a Phoenix. Have bought the coffee, the book and subscribed to Nick's new channel. Thank you, both!
I love Nick! I've watched all his CZcams videos and bought his book. Hoping he'll continue his channel again one day!
As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors I immensely appreciate this episode. Cheers!
Thanks for making this one, Mike. Great to see Nick again and to catch up with what he’s up to. Good news to hear that he might be present on the tubes again - the previous channel rapidly became an essential part of the corpus, in my view, delivering (along with the likes of yourself, and notable others) practical, realistic outdoor skills in an entertaining and calming way. And then much missed, although I recognise of course that every content maker has their own life to live, first and foremost. Good on all of you.
{{3}} Great find! I just came across the new crowdfunding project for freebeat's Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It's a game-changer in the e-bike industry with its outstanding features. One of the most impressive things is the indoor mode where you can recharge the bike while using it indoors. The brushless 750W motor, 80Nm torque, and top speed of 20mph make it a powerful ride. Plus, the 80mm front suspension, puncture-resistant fat tires, and IPX5 Waterproof finish ensure a smooth and reliable journey in any weather condition. And don't forget about the Smart Saddle Detection+ and the unique ability to convert your indoor fitness efforts into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides. What a brilliant way to combine fitness, technology, and sustainability!
I have to say, Nick is wonderful to watch and is a great teacher of Bushcraft skills. Nick is always quality. His tips are amazing! Well done Mike.
I am so glad he is back his old channel was easily top 5 for me and I still use it as a reference for things I’ve learned from him. So happy he is back great video with you both a lot of knowledge was passed around that camp fire I’m sure.
I love watching bushcraft videos. It unlocks something deep inside me. Surviving with minimalism is something we forgot long time ago. Even if I am barely going to use these skills atleast it brings me closer to the nature.
This was a pleasureful watch. Nick is a really nice person. I would hang out with him a night or two.
Thank you for arranging this video with Nick, we watched many of his previous videos and had wondered where he had gone. Great to see him thriving in an environment that he enjoys and can pass on quality info to people that as we noted could save someone's life one day. The cabin was a winner, families must love that and we know several veterans that have put their families through challenging times on their journey to a better place, so huge respect for the Woodland Warroir work! Now subscribed to both, looking forward to reading the book.
🤝⚔️🇬🇧
Nick back on CZcams, say it's true! 👍
It’s true
Have been wanting this collaboration for a long time, Nick is such a solid guy so good to see on the channel
NICK ❤❤❤❤❤ hugs ! Great to see you !
Great to see Nick again. A lot of us miss his channel, so seeing him on this was a treat. Read & re read his book twice... haven't been able to do much forest bathing lately... here in the deep U.S. South the temps & heat indices have been triple digits 100° F plus. But Fall will arrive. Enjoyed your video mate. Regards to Nick.
it was so nice to connect with Nick again, I've missed him. I got the ol ptsd and he really helped me through lockdown. Thanks Mike, and Nick, you fantastic chaps!
Wow what a cool dude. I'm glad he's found something that fulfils him after a tough life with the marines. Lots of respect to you Nick.
Good to see Nick back. Such a wealth of knowledge
Good to see Nick on YT again. His departure was rather sudden and was one of my absolute favorite bushcraft channels.
This was way better than most TV program... Great to see Nick again, I really liked his channel a lot. :-) You two guys are the best outdoor duo I´ve seen so far. Once again, I´ve taken a few useful tips with me. Hope from time to time we will have the joy to see more combined videos. Great cabin btw. 👍 Keep going guys! Best regards from Germany
🤝
What a great collaboration between two bastions of British bushcraft.
Ive missed you Nick and have subscribed to your new channel.
Im looking forward to all the new content.
There were some golden nuggets of info in this video, which goes to show you never stop learning.
As an NHS Paramedic, I'm fully on board with not just carrying major trauma kit but having it ready to deploy instantly. Tearing one of those foil packets open with blood-soaked hands is no easy task. Food for thought.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and hope you guys team up again.
Thank you.
🤝
Fantastic, great to see Nick back again. It was a wonderful combination and very informative I wish you both every success and will be following and supporting your juries.
Great Video. Nick is a proper hero. Great advice from him. Thank you for your service Sir. 👍
Thank you Mike for this video. An a big thank you to Nick . I been looking an waiting on Nick to come back from his break . I'm going over straight away to subscribe to Nick's new channel . Again thank you both for all you do .
🤝🤝
It’s so good to see Nick again. Great video, thanks guys.
Thank you nick for sharing your experiances, and your knowlage, and helping us start our bushcraft experience, correctly. Thank you mike for bringing us along this overnighter.
An amazing human being and his work is really great. I do hope his new channel grows as much as he deserves. And seing you both talking was fantastic! Thank uou for this!
Great to see Nick back online again! I really missed his insights after he stopped creating for the old channel so very thankful to be pointed towards the new channel, subbed.
🤝
So great to see @NickGoldsmith776 again. I miss his CZcams channel and forgotten he had written a book. I just ordered it on Amazon!!! With love from Northern California. ❤
It's so very, very refreshing to see Nick and HVB back on CZcams: I, too, was a regular watcher of his channel before it went silent. In fact, I owe him a special kind of debt, because it was after conversation with him on how to pack a "brew" kit properly, that I found my favorite brand of tea!
Now, we've got lots more to pore over from him, so this video will naturally get more views in the future . . .
Thanks for taking the time to make this video guys, funny enough it was just what i needed, going on a 2 day trip next weekend!
I really enjoyed Hidden Valley bushcraft , his videos were always very informative, plus he always responded to posts , questions or queries , nice touch 👍
Long time viewer, been a while since I've watched though. Great video man, glad to see you're still at it. The camping on the sea cliffs is my favorite video but I just love this content in general man. Cheers!
It's awesome to see nick again, I love his channel. Big respect nick, hope your well
Thanks Darren
I have been very fortunate as a UK Veteran to spend a weekend on one of Nicks Woodland Warrior Weekends. Reconnecting with the outdoors and spending time away from the daily grind has been a huge benefit and allowed me to find some inner comfort and a safe place to go when required. Thank you Nick and the team for all the amazing hard work.
🤝🤝🤝🤝
Sounds great man.
Please give Nick my best. I hope his hiatus from his channel is proving beneficial. THANKS for having him on. We miss him.
Thanks,
Nick
Here Nick
This was a great collaboration! The torniquet and general first aid advice was really useful given Nicks first hand experience. I see a lot of bushcraft people adding torniquets to their first aid kits without realising they need training in able to use them safely.
definitely recommend an outdoor first aid course that covers all of this stuff in detail over the course of a weekend for anyone who is in the position to need a tourniqet
Just watched this guy for the first time. What a pleasure. Really engaging and knowledgable and great to watch and listen to. very humble too.
Thanks
Good to see Nick again, and know he is still helping others. 👍
Thanks John
So much to say but honestly the best way to say it is... We need more Nicks in the world. It's sad that anyone has to go through what he has gone through but it made him the person he is today.
Always loved Nicks channel and videos. One of my favorite content creators!
Man!! This was SUCH a great video!!
I’ve practicing survival skills, some Bushcraft, and wild camping in my backyard for the past year. Finally, just took the next step before real a trip wild camping… tarp tenting in a local state campground with no running water (except for trout streams 😁😁), no electricity, no cell service, no Internet. The only convenience available were compost toilets. Three nights out with barely anybody in the campground… and very densely forested.
Sitting home today, recuperating, taking care of a couple small flesh wounds from the trip 🙄… this video popped up on my feed (I am a sub). This was the best 54 minutes and 46 seconds I have spent in a long time. Really really really great video. Thank you guys!
I have seen some of Nick’s stuff in the past, but now I’m heading over and going to sub. I’m also going to order that book. That will be my reading for my next trips… even if I DO have cell service!
Love this. By the way - State side 😁. So the message is getting across the pond too!
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
as always a great video with great tips, tricks and advice i could listen to nicks stories for hours, i wish nick the best in all he does in the future
Thankyou
He was so happy to have you there! Guess he needs his story told!
Indeed , if it helps someone out there I all for it .
TA outdoors well done for your feature this blokes spot on thank you 👍
🤝
This was 54 minutes long and it was too short!.
Great seeing Nick, been trying to rope my brother into doing a hidden valley bushcraft course.
this was lightning in a bottle, hope to see more of you two combining your skills.
Nicks tarp setup video still my go to. He has the genuine experience of using them too.
This was one of our favorite videos! Great job to you both. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!
Thrilled to have Nick’ videos back on CZcams. Because of him I have gone out to camp, camp solo and volunteered for a conservation group here in Canada - Canada Parks And Wilderness Society
Thanks for another great video and its good to See Nick back on You Tube.
Mike - this video has made me think that you should get into podcasting! Get survival guests on, like the chap in this video, it would be great to listen to and I am certain lot of people would be interested.
💯 Agree
What a brilliant video! Really enjoyed it. Thank you to Nick and yourself!
Fantastic video and great information. I'm definitely going to have to watch this one a couple of times as there's so much in this one. Great job Mike and Nick, so much knowledge shared here. 👍❤️
This is a very Bushcraft Practical video.
Thank you TA Outdoors for the interesting and informative content and also the great tour of the cabin and Nick's cool equipment and the incredible life saving story.
👍
What a great video Mike. I'm glad you made this. I miss Nicks videos from HVB but I've now subscribed to his new channel. Both of you are very articulate in the way you communicate when engaging with your audience. We just seem to be drawn in to what is going on. Clear concise and very easy to listen to. Only thing Mike: You need to bulk up! 😂😉👍 Looking forward to your next video with Nick. Should be interesting. Well done fella😇
Absolutely golden, as Nick said "good egg" helping those of us who missed the changing of the guard to keeping us up to speed of events. Wishing both channels success in the future.
Thanks
@@NickGoldsmith776
No probs, wish I could make it to Go Wild, would have looked forward to your talk. Good luck with it, Boot Neck.
I echo all of the previous contributor's comments.
I have watched all of the HVB videos and have been on the Woodland Warrior Programme weekends and outings. What an amazing experience I have had as a result. It gave me the confidence to go into the outdoors and reconnect with the countryside. All is done in a safe learning environment.
What an ambassador for the veteran community to learn about mother nature through bushcraft.
Thanks mate
No idea how I came across this. Like life. Some reminders and I've learned a lot too. Respect to you Nick for your service. I worked in Iraq in a different capacity. You make things super clear. Working on a project that you might be interested in. What's the best contact? Blown away by your down-to-earth-ness mate. Fully up for supporting you on the new channel! You got this man.
I'm going to add to the Nick love . Fantastic to see him back on my screen.
Great to see Nick. Awesome video guys. Keep up the amazing work you guys do. Inspirational !!
🤝
Great video as always, really pleased to see Nick from hidden valley outdoors, I will surtenly be following him on his new channel, thank you 🍻😎
Hey there! As a fellow ebike enthusiast, I stumbled upon this new project called freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike after watching your video. I must say, I'm truly impressed by the outstanding features this bike offers. The ability to charge the bike when applying indoor mode is a game-changer! Not only does it provide an exhilarating speed and power with its brushless 750W motor, but the 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires also ensure a smooth ride in any outdoor terrain. And the fact that it can transform indoor fitness into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides is a brilliant way to make a positive impact on the environment. Can't wait to see this product in action and support the crowdfunding campaign! Keep up the amazing work!
Really enjoying this! Waiting for a Pt. II !!! :)
Awesome to see nick again, I used to watch him all the time.

So happy to see Nick back.
Oh I've wanted to see Nick on again for ages. Brilliant collab and I think I'm going to make my wife get me a course for my birthday next year. Want one of the hidden valley patches 😂.
💪🤝
Totally awesome video. Very informative, The hangi pit was great to see… beautiful taste once food is cooked too as I’m a (New Zealand Maori ) Thank you Nick for your time
and Mike for sharing this video
What an amazing man!
He makes a great teacher.
What a great video! Love Nick Goldsmith the absolute legend. I learnt most of my knowledge from him via his HVB days. Already subscribed to his new channel. Keep doing what youre doing both of you, combined you make amazing content
