Some engineering and a good amount of orderliness in the confection of that ice bulb with the bamboo stick. I was really impressed. True!

Dude it's not that hard to find a top level decent bar in London, although the average price for a drink is around 20 pounds...
You really wanna see care for cocktails, get off American videos and watch Japanese bartending and you will see some of the most mind blowing things ever when it comes to care for your cocktail
If you look at the list of top 50 bars in the world 2016, 5 out of the first top 10 are located in London. I am willing to bet my an enormous amount of money that they all serve better cocktails than this guy does. Not that he is bad or anything.
viperhalberd There's a difference between caring about cocktails and being a fucking Victorian chemist. There are plenty of excellent mixology places - one of my personal favourites is the Discount Suit Company in Aldgate. You have to look to find good places; they don't just find you.

3:49 - Note - you need to chill the cocktail (ie. stir it with ice). If you pour warm cocktail into a frozen ball, the ball will break.

Cocktail Chemistry Can you do a video with this idea but using the Butterfly Pea Tea so that the blue ice ball empties into acid/151 and turns purple? So many of your methods combined into one, I think it would look awesome!

Very cool! At Christmas, my family and I have a cocktail competition. You can be sure that i'll recreate this drink to sweep in the first place!
*Important safety tip:* If you're heat the glass via the flaming rum, and then have the ice ball drop (presumably much colder) liquid into the glass, you could easily wind up with a bar covered in broken glass AND fire. You'll want to limit that burn time and pour close-to-room-temperature liquor into that ball.
Agreed, this is why I recommend a tempered glass
Cocktail Chemistry AH! Only glanced briefly and didn't see the (important) caveat. I didn't know you could buy tempered cocktail glasses... Doubt my girlfriend will go for the whole "we need new glassware because the current ones *just aren't safe!* LOL!

Not to mention that having "a glass of water on hand" is the worst safety prep advice I've ever heard as water will not be very useful for extinguishing a liquid fuel source.
This is an incredible great cocktail! I have to questions tho
1. Can you use a martini glass aswell?
2. I'd like to use a blue filling cocktail so it's actually Ice and fire, however I have no idea what would match a strong burning alcohol. Any ideas ?
How about Blue Curaçao for Cointreau? Of course, you would have to completely reformulate it because the fruit juices would screw up the color.

Hmm, I don't use artificial colors (basically any drink with bright blue) so I can't help you here. Maybe a high proof vodka would work from a color standpoint

Should be higher than that, closer to 80%

@cocktailchemisty The advice to have water near by if there is an issue with fire is a bad one. Water does not extinguish Class B fires (Class B fires involve flammable liquids rather gasoline, alcohol, and oil).
You should have a CO2, halon, or dry chemical extinguisher that is marked B, C, BC, or ABC to stop alcohol fire. If you use water it can cause the fire to spread.

Hmmm.. My favorite local bar has had a cocktail called A Song of Ice and Fire for over a year now.
Consisting of Plymouth Gin - Apple liquor- Cranberries - Ginger - Lemon juice - Sugar syrup. I don't know the measurements, but it's a tasty one.
