    Hi Jose, You really do make the channel interesting with your sense of detail. You also have a charming accent. (No I am not hitting on you, it’s just a honest compliment), lol.
    I just ordered all new OEM batteries 40 units 2009 GMC Yukon at $3000 and since no one here in Chicago wants to do that specific reman, I am a senior electrician and will do it myself after watching several videos. Palmetto Battery Pros has a some nifty videos that went through the entire rebuild using the Ennocar kit. I read up on these “cylinder batteries” from China. A hybrid reman shop in Phoenix Arizona had commented he stays away from these due to reliability. However, you just explained in this video the need to rearrange these at intervals - that’s a first, and I get it, that makes sense. I watched another video from Prolong Professional System and he mentioned the battery terminal bolts should be tightened to 48 inch pounds. Which is 4.8 ft pounds. You just said 2 ft pounds. Not a challenge, just a point of discussion.
    I am a zero defects - do it right every time type guy. The EOM supplier said make sure the batteries are within .04 volts which I will do. I really appreciate your “smooth and shiny” copper bus comment, I had been thinking wire wheel but that is not shiny, but now I think acid and buffing may be my approach. I have one thing to share with you.
    I dealt with lightning rod systems over the years. There is a thicker than Vaseline mix with tiny copper particles (very heavy copper peppering), that we used on all outside mechanically bonded (screw/bolt) connections points that allowed the extremely high voltages of lightning to pass, yet have a protective layer from oxidation. I don’t know if it’s wise for hybrid batteries, but it’s an interesting concept from a totally different field. I think it was Harger Lightning products that made this. I bring this up as perhaps the Caribbean humidity is a challenge? Anyway, just passing this on. Not sure if I will use it. I have a squeeze tube of it left over.
    Thanks again!
    Jim from damn cold Chicago

    Hello Jose, thank you for all your super informative videos. I have two remarks :
    -For the service plug, as you did, it is much better to be in the middle because then the maximum voltage without the plug will be halved, so it is best for operator safety reasons
    -To address the cooling issue of these batteries, an easy solution would be to design and tape some plastic deflectors on the bottom part, so to force part of the air flux on the front and middle rows.
    Also have a question : in your opinion are these cylindrical batteries nearly as good as the toyota original ones relating to life expectancy ?
    Thank you again !!

      July 20109 this cylindrical type were installed on my 2nd gen, no maintenance or rotation, #3 failed but vehicle showed signs of problems fr from after 3years, I couldn't tell how or where problems did come but still working untill vehicle would only start and turn off and not even move 10 feet distance. A little over 42 months. Admit they cost $2200dlls installed by hybrid shop my fan was kept clean not clogged. I have decided not to use this type any more. I will go to Lithium polimer( the new kind in the market when available.) The kind, Jose, in this channel showed before some months ago. But we need to know how long they will last? Hope this helps someone. Open to and appreciate your comments. One question I have to Jose, how low to discharge and how hight to charge to try and get some more life to this cylindrical modules? If you think is worth the try? Thanks.

    So this is a 144 volt traction battery, I thought Toyota hybrid traction battery packs were all 200 volts, interesting.
    Did this battery pack arrive with a storage voltage only and was charged and balanced before fitting ?

    Hi Jose, Good Job. Could you tear down this module? as you did with the LFP from NexPower. Both LFPs and OEMs do have a "charger" or a balancer at each module. OEM 6x batteries in series / per module do need balancing and LFP 5x in series also. These cylindrical modules do not seem to have anything to keep them balanced and look like standard C Nimh batteries wrapped in plastic film. Correct?

    • @hybridsolutiondiagnostics
      @hybridsolutiondiagnostics  Před rokem +1

      Yes, but they are not keeping in balance for long so they need to be rebalanced more often

    • @dimitrisp3214
      @dimitrisp3214 Před rokem +1

      @@hybridsolutiondiagnostics was asking for the module, not the whole built. You can not balance the cells inside the module itself, no leads to connect to each 1,2V cell of total 6 per module. OEM and LFP do have this small PCB, remember? that keeps the 5x cells balanced.

    • @hybridsolutiondiagnostics
      @hybridsolutiondiagnostics  Před rokem +1

      @@dimitrisp3214 not to this one,unless you force charge it… but the BMS won’t do that to NiMH batteries

    • @dimitrisp3214
      @dimitrisp3214 Před rokem

      @@hybridsolutiondiagnostics So, the Toyota BMS does not balance the nimh modules? And then: if cell no5 and no4 within module#1 are off-balanced, will force charging the module#1 balance these cells with the rest 4 cells?, (not an expert for nimh though) Reading about the OEM: "each module contains a charge controller and a relay". Any idea about the use of this "charger" , inside each OEM module?
