    Thanks so much for posting the entire matches on these, instead of just the last moment. It really gives context to these, when I haven't seen the whole thing before.

    I completely forgot that she won this tournament with a 265. Bowling a 265 in the final of a major tournament is epic no matter who you are.

    I have this saved to my “watch later” list but I’m actually watching it again. I don’t know if any bowler has faced more pressure than she did here being the only woman bowling against men at a PBA televised major tournament. I enjoy watching the way she maintains her composure and focus through the match. It’s a lesson for us all. Kudos to her. She was in a zone.

    It was because of Kelly Kulick and her epic win here that I went and got the Ebonite Mission later on that year, although its follow-up, the Mission 2.0, would be the ball I recorded my first USBC sanctioned honor score with. She sold me this ball by making it work in the Tournament of Champions and winning with it.

      Guitarzan Chris Barnes is my favourite bowler because I like his swing, but in particular I like his behaviour on the lanes. Some people say that he isn't a good sportsman only because once he didn't shake his opponent's hand (Ryan Ciminelli in that case), but it happened just once and they judge by what they have seen once without knowing Chris at all (ignorant). I'm glad to know that you defend him 💪

    Kelly's performance at the T of C was one of the greatest performances in ALL OF BOWLING. Kelly dominated the tournament. Kelly could have bowled 299 on one of her earlier shots. I would have put it number 2. Number 3 is good.

    This came up in my CZcams suggestion and so glad it did. Any bowler would of been satisfied with the game she bowled with the only blemish being the 7 10 split. I don't think many titles and especially majors would of been won with a score that high. I especially like the strike and reaction in the 9th frame

      The original masters of the programs are not always available for digitizing for "side projects" like a YT channel. This might have been sourced from an aircheck dub or who knows maybe even a VHS. This was shot in standard def, not HD. (I used to work in broadcast post-production for 27 years).

      It was only the 2nd time a woman had ever made a telecast. It was the first time a woman had made a major telecast. Until last year it was the only time a woman had won a PBA title. Regardless of how they feel about equality this was a rare event for any sport. It was PBA history. That's why it's #3.

    • @athlonen
      @athlonen Před 3 lety

      It was the first time a woman beat a man for a real title/championship. The only other time a woman had beat a man up until Kelly Kulick was an exhibition match back in the 1973, when Billie Jean King beat Bobbie Riggs in a "battle of the sexes" exhibition match. This was FOR REAL, for a title. That is why this is a big issue.
