  • Peaks 12 and 13 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey are North and South Kinsman Mountains! For this hike we tackled the Mount Kinsman Trail to Kinsman Ridge Trail, tacking on a bonus minor mountain called Bald Peak along the way as well.
After doing a few shorter hikes during the winter, we're back at it again and very excited to start checking off these New Hampshire higher summits. This one for us was an out and back, 10.4 miles in total, with around 4000 feet of elevation gain when it was all said and done.
This honestly felt like two very distinct hikes: what we experienced before reaching Bald Peak, and what came after. As we gradually gained elevation, we got to experience what hiking the White Mountains in the spring is really like...
Let us know if you’ve hiked the Kinsmans, and whether you went up the same way we did or via the east side of the mountain off of 93. Our rating for this hike was rather low, but as we bag more of these peaks we have a feeling a lot of our ratings may change slightly as we're exposed to more of these mountains...we shall see. Leave a comment on whether you agree with our assessment! We'd love to know what your Kinsmans experience was like.

Thanks! It's fleece lined, so it helps out quite a bit when it's chilly 🙂

I really like that route up N Kinsman. Give it another chance in a clear day - great view from North. I liked your montage of misery too. 😂

We definitely will have to give it another go at some point!
We've found it's easier to pick up the camera when we're complaining about something in order to vent 😂 Lots of misery clips to choose from
