- A very intimate recording of an Allman Brother Band informal rehearsal, said to be in Duane's home.
Apparently, this recording is made with a cassette recorder sitting on the table, catching some song bit and casual talk.
This is the acoustic portion recorded that day. They also plugged in and jammed after this session.
Let me know if you would like to hear the rest of this historic recording.
Remarkable. Informal. Casual. Relaxed. You can clearly hear their musical roots. Thanks for posting. 'Yes', would love to hear the electric portion of this jam session.
Great recording for the old days when cassettes were the new thing. Feel like I'm sitting right there in the room with them. Back in 70-71 watched them jam for free over in Piedmont Park when they came to Atlanta to play. Good Times!
Thanks for sharing a great memory of the Allman Brothers!
From a 68 y/o retired musician, Yes I'd love to hear the rest of the recordings. Please and thank you!
Working on Part 2 now, should be up in a couple hours.
Iam 73, and this is great! Thanks, for sharing this love it
Please share more! thank you!
I posted Part 2 of the Gatlinburg tapes about an hour ago.
more: yes, please...sir
This is real gold...Even a few bars of Tim Buckley's "Once I Was A Soldier." Keep it coming.
It was not recorded at Duane's home. It was recorded at a rented cabin.
Love this - Let's hear more, please!!
Here is part 2 czcams.com/video/qF5-H1nbUOE/video.html
Thanks for posting. 'Yes', would love to hear the electric portion of this jam session.
Just a bunch of super talented southern boys doin their thang, this is golden!
This is an amazing find! Thank you sir!
It's on other CZcams pages but they're old and the YT algorithm doesn't highlight them very often so I thought it was time to renew it. Thanks for watching and listening.
Awesome!!!
Gerry Groom recorded this on cassette while hanging with Duane and the guys. I have the cassette master of these Gatlinburg tapes.
This is fantastic. What a treat.
Yes excellent
Good shit! Keep em coming✌️🇺🇸
This is great. Trying to attach faces to voices. Yes, more.
Tennessee hell yeah 😊
18:18 "Well I may have died too early, but boy, you know I had my fun..."
Anyone know that second song Duane sings after Ruby at the very beginning? After he says, “ ya gotta respect it if you don’t like it”
I'll try to find a "setlist" and post it.
❤
i forget is there more gatinburg recordings as i remember it there was the gatinburg tapes ?
Yes, there is more of the Gatlinburg Tapes. I wanted to do it in 2 parts, acoustic and electric. Some of recording of the electric portion is pretty low quality but it's such a historic moment in music history and is worth hearing.
@@firstnamelastname-im5iz jam on Allmans and dead !!!!!!!!!
You got to respect it he’s talking about weed
I think I heard a little sniffing too.
Is Duane singing?
A little bit, Dicky was doing some too.
Duane is on the very beginning on Ruby and a snippet of another ballad, then Dickey sings Rambling Man, in the Jailhouse now. Later Gregg does some singing. Duane sings the Blues Medley towards the end.
Dickey
Skydog!
Love this. Thanks for sharing
