  • Finished the installation of Kicker LED speakers into my new Pro XP. Besides the cool factor, the sound quality is noticeably better.

I feel like this video is more about the tools and parts you need than the how to. Good but I had to skip through to get to the parts the video was titled. A little inconvenient but ok.

I can easily splice 2 speakers into one module, right? Does the module need to be in line for the remote? Can I hide it?

Hey Larry - this video series was awesome. I'm working on installing these same speakers in our boat, and using the KMLC controller for the LED portion. I used a wire that Crutchfield makes that has both speaker wire, and RGB in it, and brought those both to an amp which is super simple. But can you show how you wired the KMLC to the battery? The connector that came with mine is the super small gauge wire, so I'm trying to figure out how to safely and securely connect it to the batter terminals. Thanks!

DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY. if you do not provide a switch it will be constantly on and drain your battery. also, be sure and put an inline fuse between the switch and the power/battery. any 5-20 amp switch will do since the LED's do not use much amperage .

@@txtamer thanks for the quick reply. All the KmLC diagrams show the led controller connecting directly to the battery - with an in-line fuse as you noted on the hot line. What did you wire it to in order to get power?

Um where do I wire thes rgb lights to just a positive running light? Or pos terminal … … guessing I have to buy the remote to get the lights to function

from what i read you can run one color with just the 12v hooked to that wire or combination of wires for one color. to get the color changing you need the remote, it comes with a deal to wire in all the wires. but if you just want blue for example i think you just hook the blue wire to a switch and run it with the black wire. The black is positive on the kicker wires, the red green and blue go to each light. you could also hook up the red and green together then to the switch with the black for a mix color of red and green, but again it wouldn't change colors, it would be just that color.
