    DISCLAIMER
    Not every sound test will mimic what a keyboard sounds like in real life. I suggest listening to other sound tests and taking everything with a grain of salt.
    Even IF I accurately capture what a board sounds like perfectly IRL in my setting, it's just that - my setting. Your set-ups based upon the variables of your room, typing surface, and more may result in the board sounding completely different in your area.
    Capturing what a board sounds perfectly in my room and area won't necessarily translate to how it sounds in YOUR room or area.
    I am not a professional, my room is not sound-treated, and a lot of my boom arms are attached to the desk that I am typing on.
    I do not do sound tests to be as accurate as possible and portray what a board sounds like perfectly in real life. This is something I do for fun!
    I will continue to improve my sound tests with better lighting, video, and audio, but please do not take my videos as professional-grade or “how a keyboard with this config will sound like”.
    I hope that using different mics will illustrate that depending on your mic, you may catch higher/lower frequencies better than other mics, and some mics sound naturally “brighter” or “darker” than other mics, even without any filters or any sort of post-processing.

    Yes! another follow neko enjoyer, I currently have a bakeneko60, ciel60 and and 65 and a bongoneko60. waiting on the bakenekoGo thats gonna release soon.
    Your Jixte60 kinda looks like my bongoneko. curious to know how it sounds.

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  Před 3 dny

      Heck yeah!!! That's such an amazing collection. The Bongoneko is the one with the carbon fiber on the back, correct? Same! I actually picked up a Nico and Steph PC Bakeneko60, but sold it because I'm also eagerly awaiting the BakenekoGo as well! $80 seems like a great price, especially for it to come with a wireless PCB.
      I've never really bothered trying out or researching PC 60% bakeneko/unikornesque boards (just alu), but maybe the BakenekoGo will be the first in a few of them haha.
      Yeah, the Jixte definitely is/was my most costly, and I think having an internal and external brass weight is definitely nice. I think it helped tremendously with eliminating any sort of hollowness and lowered the overall pitch of the configurations (usually run it with cherry mx reds on alu, but having a real fun time with a PP plate and KTT roses currently in the Jixte60) that I use
      Between the Bakeneko, Ciels and Bongoneko, is there one that you'd say is your "favourite"? Or do you enjoy them all?

      @@HubertTheMad Yes I am super excited about the NekoGo. I've been on the hunt for an affordable 60% PC Gummy 0Ring Mount board for a while now.
      I also can't wait for the Krush60 PCB. The layout support looks very promising and they also have a prototype Krush60 PC floating around.
      Of all my neko variants, I gotta say my bongoneko with a UNIKORN Alu Half Plate and Geon Raptors sounds endgame poppy. love it!
      But it's hard to beat out my ciel65 with Canglan v2's. That extra room in the 65 case provides a more full marbly sound which is addictive :)
      BTW I checked out your jixte sound test and it sounds very similar to my bongo. Now kind of makes me want to get one myself but PK only has a brown color remaining lol yea not a big fan of brown.

      @@versecurated Very cool! Sounds like you have a lot of great sounding (and looking) boards.
      Yeah... Oof, I agree. Not a fan of that "woody" colourway as well.

    which you prefer with spacebar slap? frog mini or ciel60

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  Před 21 dnem

      Good question! Short answer is Ciel60. Long answer is that it depends. The way that the frog mini's feet are designed can make you hear alot of desk noise and feel rumbliness when you type depending on your desk and your setup. Even with thick dest mats, I sometimes was caught off guard at the sound and feel. Nothing wrong with it necessarily/you may not always feel it or hear it depending on the type of desk you have and the desk mats you use though.
      Switches, keycap, and plates also play a HUGE role too. Not every combination will result in a good spacebar noise.
      Then you have to think about what exactly a good spacebar sounds like. It'll be different for different people because we each have a different idea and preference of a good spacebar.
      For me, I have a great config with the frog mini and had a great one with the Ciel60, so they both sounded great. You gotta play around a bit and figure out the best configs for yourself though since we all have different preferences and there are thousands of switches and plates and keycap combinations out there.
      I will say that cherry red/black hyperglides on full aluminium plate with gmk keycaps for both results in me liking the Ciel60 more though.
      But geon clears on full aluminium also sound great on the frog mini with gmk keycaps.
      Both are great, and while I say I enjoy the Ciel60 spacebar more with that config, it's not like the frog mini was horrible with that config by any means.
      There are just better configs (like geon clears on full alu) that, in my opinion, sound better!

      @louismiguel8432 Před 19 dny +1

      a little follow up cause I'm finding one aftermarket, which of these keyboard is thd highest pitched in your personal preference?

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  Před 19 dny

      @@louismiguel8432 the Bakeneko actually! It's the only one with a carbon fiber half plate though and no weights. I actually like the Jixte the most even though it's not the highest pitched.
      There are more factors than just weights, but the inner and outer heavy brass weights as well as using an aluminium full plate brought the sound and pitch down a bit.
      So while it's not the loudest, it's my favourite overall when you factor in aesthetics.
      I think the Ciel60 had the most beautiful colour, the Jixte60 was my overall favourite, the Bakeneko is my pick ONLY if you get it during the mystery bakeneko sales that had it at $60 or so (since by adding an extra CF half plate and solder PCB, it would bring it to the aftermarket Ciel60 and/or customNeko costs), and the customNeko wasn't bad by any means, but it was the least enjoyable

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  Před 19 dny

      I'd also consider that new chroma60 keyboard eloquent clicks just released. It's not in-stock yet and just a preorder, but it's heavier than the Ciel60 and seems to have pretty good sized weights. But I have absolutely zero idea of what it sounds like or the overall feel of the board since I don't have one and only some content creators have tried it out like Alexotos

  • @louismiguel8432
    @louismiguel8432 Před 26 dny +1

    a little outside this content, have you heard about krush65? are going to buy?

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  Před 26 dny

      I have heard about it! I actually got a glare65, so I personally wasn't interested in the krush65. It does look like a nice board though at a good price. Are you getting it?
