  • Parker has introduced their all new 18SE center console fishing boat built with a fiberglass liner construction. This special edition is 6-inches longer and 6-inches wider than the Parker 1801 CC, giving it a more open deck plan. The open flush bow makes this boat more of a dedicated fishing platform, while also allowing the option for a removable platform and cushion for family comfort.

Sad to see any parker being built with 2 piece construction... it goes against everything the old parker stood for. What made the 1801 unique was that it was one of very few 18' boats you could buy with 3 piece construction. Correct Craft keeps telling Parker fans that they are not changing what Parker boats stood for but every new change across all models is exactly that. I think the Linwood built Parkers are going to be like the Potter built Seacraft's in 20-30 years.

Yup the new models are crap compared to the old ones. Caulked in gunnel sections, 2 piece design. Decks that are too low to properly drain. Correct craft is destroying the Parker name. And the prices have gone up tremendously. Pay more and get less

It looks like the top cap of the gunnel is caulked?

Is there console storage or are those doors on either side for Plano boxes?

You left out the part that those new 18 SEs take on water through the scuppers with a few people in the boat. The deck is too low. Plus the bilge hatch has no gasket. So the water then goes into the bilge!
Complete down grade from the original 18. New owners of Parker are completely destroying the brand

We never had more than two people aboard at any time but sure didn't see water coming in via the scuppers. Of course, on most boats under 20' with self-bailing decks if you load them down, the scuppers do backflow at some point. The bilge hatch certainly should have a gasket but I can't say I opened and looked. If yours doesn't I'd suggest adding Taco Hatch Tape for sure, it's a stick-on gasket that's pretty inexpensive and easy to work with.

@@FishTalkMagazine the issue is the new design not a problem on the original 18 that Parker made. The new models since correct craft bought them out are crap. We have an early 90s 18 Parker for a work boat and load it way more than we did the new 18 when it showed up. It’s a complete embarrassment to the Parker name. They are not constructed as well and are 2 piece design as opposed to the older more durable 3 piece design. New model has segmented / caulked in gunnels. It’s garbage. They are making new models not to improve the boats but to increase profit margins.

@@HookedOnTuna Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion! We would point out that many people believe a two-piece boat is better in many ways and many topnotch boats are constructed on that basis.

@@FishTalkMagazine I know there are pros and cons to 2 and 3 piece construction, but that open bow configuration really loses functionality without toe-kick.
