I've always wondered why gun camera footage from the Pacific is so much shakier than that from the ETO. In the footage from the ETO you can see the rounds flying pretty straight (not counting ballistic drop). In the footage from the Pacific the tracers seem to shake violently from the camera shaking. It isn't just one aircraft type like the F4F Wildcat, F6F Hellcat or the F4U Corsair. If it was I would figure it is where the gun cameras were placed. It seems to be all aircraft types in the Pacific.

One of the reasons the Japanese suffered so many losses in this battle is that most of their aircrews were insufficiently trained and inexperienced.
I wonder why the US Navy went for colour footage with gun cameras. It seems an unecessary luxury and black/white footage from ETO seems much clearer

All WWII gun camera footage is silent, any sound you hear on other clips is dubbed on. I prefer to present them as they were.
